Chapter 146 - 145. Wriggling disaster! Evil breaks the bud!

Chapter 145: The Wriggling Disaster! The Evil Breaks the Bud!

In the abyss-like vertical shaft pierced by the Flame Pillar, Arthur, with wind at his feet, bravely smashed through layers of fiery vortexes containing terrifying high temperatures!

The explosion's firelight dyed everyone's faces red behind him. The werewolf couldn't find an opportunity to assist, only able to raise his arm to block the splashing sparks, letting out a low growl.

"You're becoming less and less human!"

"Thanks for the compliment!"

Amidst their banter, Arthur, holding his sword, shattered a section of the wall. He spun and unleashed a powerful strike, precisely colliding with the Flame Pillar surging from below, erupting into a burst of scorching fireworks!

He broke through the rolling smoke and dust, carried by the wind, his gaze sweeping rapidly over the ant-nest-like holes in the surrounding walls, and shouted a reminder.

"Arriving at the 56th floor! Beware of dragon assaults!"

The suddenly approaching human aura instantly triggered the monsters' vigilance. Two-legged dragons, entirely purplish, roared and flapped their wings, abruptly charging out of their caves!

Everyone looked down at the dragon species pouring out of the wall holes on the 56th and 57th floors, raising their weapons with fierce glints in their eyes!

Finn sharply ordered, "The Cannon Dragon is Arthur's! Everyone else, prioritize intercepting the dragons!"

Bete drew the short sword from his waist, his figure like an arrow released from a bow, darting along the wall. Amidst the flashing sword light, he precisely cut through the fragile wing membranes of nearby dragons!

Tione and Tiona, not skilled in precise maneuvers, exchanged glances. The older sister raised her hand and hurled two recurved knives, firmly pinning down an attacking dragon!

Her younger sister, Tiona, was even more ferocious. She grabbed the dragon's tail with her bare hands, and with astonishing arm strength, swung it like a wind wheel, smashing it back into the wall hole like a cannonball, instantly affecting many of its kind!

Ais, with her flight ability, moved with even greater agility. The rapier in her hand wove a dazzling silver sword net, accompanied by a clear sound of flesh tearing!

Giant dragons were immediately decapitated, their severed limbs and scalding crimson blood splattered, and the strong smell of blood instead incited the surrounding monsters' ferocity!

The brief skirmish made the dragon species realize that the adventurers before them were a tough nut to crack.

They decisively flapped their wings to create distance, only trailing far behind the group, no longer attacking rashly.

Finn thrust his spear through the throat of the last dragon, shouting loudly to Arthur at the very front.

"Can you see the 58th floor? These dragons are waiting for the Cannon Dragon, preparing a joint attack!"

Arthur, in his rapid dive, his eyes flashed, and a cold arc formed on the corner of his mouth as he loudly responded.

"Everyone, attention! There's a new type of monster!"

...

On the vast wilderness of the 58th floor, countless yellowish-green spots were rapidly multiplying!

A colorful army of worms let out low roars, and behind them, carnivorous plants with flat tentacles were spewing corrosive venom!

This new monster army, by virtue of its astonishing numbers, overwhelmed nearly half the space, even forming orderly formations with a clear objective—

To continuously hunt the Cannon Dragon!

Arthur was the first to rush out of the vertical shaft, the brilliant golden aura around him instantly receding. He savagely brought durandal down on a Cannon Dragon that had been waiting for a long time!

The wind howled, and the Cannon Dragon's head was torn open in response, meat and fluids splattering everywhere, clearing an area!

Having easily opened up a landing spot, he looked up into the distance, only to see the Cannon Dragon group, which had been rampaging just moments ago, now covered in corrosive liquid, emitting shrill screams!

Their proud massive bodies, along with their bones and blood, were rapidly turning into pools of foul-smelling pus!

At the same time, the members of the Loki Familia and a large number of dragon species rushed out of the vertical shaft.

Unlike the adventurers who buffered their descent, the dragons, upon seeing the worm army, their pupils flared with ferocity. They flapped their wings and dived without hesitation, charging down fiercely!

For a time, the battlefield was completely occupied by different types of monsters!

The Cannon Dragon and dragons roared in succession, assisting each other. Flames interwove into a fire net, furiously scorching the yellowish-green hard skins of the new monsters!

The worms, fearless of death, spewed corrosive liquid. Even when scorched by high temperatures, they would charge with all their might before dying, exploding into scattered filth!

The carnivorous plants stopped moving, their thick roots buried deep underground, and countless tentacles broke through the earth, tightly coiling around the Cannon Dragon!

Arthur and the others, while clearing away the troublesome monsters, quickly retreated to a corner of the wilderness.

Bete, impatiently sharpening his short swords, producing a harsh, crisp sound, asked in a low voice.

"What should we do, Finn? Cover Riveria and the others while they chant to clear the area?"

Finn decisively shook his head: "No! The new monsters react to high-level magic fluctuations. We'll be attacked from two sides!"

Arthur surveyed the slowly repairing vertical shaft, estimated the limit of destruction the 58th floor could withstand, and suggested.

"Let me do it. Just one strike will take care of all of them."

Riveria, hearing this, frowned, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes.

"You charged down here while being sniped by the Cannon Dragon, and you've been on the front line all this time. Are you really okay?"

Finn also advised in a deep voice: "Don't be reckless, Arthur. Below is the 59th floor. I hope you conserve as much magic power as possible."

Arthur calmly shook his head: "Avalon doesn't consume much of my energy. Solving these beasts earlier will allow us to be fully prepared for conquering the 59th floor."

Before he finished speaking, he had already sheathed his sword, wisps of air swirling around his body, carrying him straight into the sky.

A moment later, a massive, brilliant silver magic circle rapidly unfolded!

Finn looked up at this familiar scene, his expression changing drastically, and he urgently shouted to Riveria.

"This kid!? Quick, open the barrier!"

Tiona, whose arm had just healed, innocently asked, "Is it that meteor shower from last time?"

Tsubaki, completely out of the loop, looked bewildered: "What meteor shower?"

Tione's eyes sparkled with excitement: "You'll know soon, it's a super-powerful annihilation magic!"

In mid-air, Arthur, with surging magic power filling his entire body, brought his hands together as if cupping something. Above the brilliant silver magic circle, small heavenly stars rapidly solidified.

The destructive aura they emitted instantly alerted the bloodthirsty dragon species and new monsters below, who all looked up!

Countless roars seemed to be right next to him, echoing in Arthur's ears. He pointed his left hand towards the ground and softly chanted.

"Fall, Overlord Heavenly Star."

In an instant, the crimson meteors all trembled, plummeting at a speed beyond perception, creating a series of dull sonic booms!

The worm army and Cannon Dragon, in the midst of their fierce battle, finally realized the arrival of a deadly threat. They looked up at the meteor fire rain falling from the sky, letting out desperate and helpless roars!

The next moment, roars erupted everywhere, scorching firelight consumed everything, and the shockwave completely swept over the entire scorched wilderness!

The ferocious storm continuously battered the translucent sky. Everyone huddled under the protection of [Dimensional Severance], gazing at the surging sea of fire, exchanging glances.

"This time… it shouldn't attract that 'Cleaner' thing, right?"

"Idiot Tiona, shut your big mouth!"

"Tch, at worst, let him cut that skeleton again. Don't worry so much!"

However, Arthur, maintaining his celestial magic, his eyes suddenly narrowed.

He keenly felt a sense of chilling familiarity slowly rising from the depths of the earth!

The meteor fire rain had already fallen, but the tremors echoing throughout the entire 58th floor only intensified!

"She", far in the deeper levels, felt it—that star's radiance, which she had dreaded, had reappeared!

However, at this moment, the opponent was preoccupied, making it the best time to counterattack!

Viscous malice, bursting forth from the bud!
