Chapter 80 - Marked by the Dark Web

The moment the last shadow-villain staggered back into fragments, the Dark Web went silent.

No glitches. No distortions. No sound—only a suffocating stillness, as if the entire network were holding its breath.

Brush felt it first.

Not an attack.

Not a presence.

A decision.

"Everyone… stay alert," Brush said quietly. His aura flickered, reacting to something unseen."What's wrong?" Frostbinder asked."The Dark Web isn't improvising anymore," he replied. "It's choosing."

The ground beneath them fractured—not collapsing, but rearranging, rewriting itself. The twisted corridors straightened into vast black platforms etched with red, crawling code. Above them, an endless ceiling of static pulsed like a living sky.

Then the message appeared.

Not spoken.Not heard.Injected directly into Brush's mind.

THREAT CONFIRMED.ANOMALY DESIGNATION: CHOSEN ONE.CONTAINMENT PROTOCOLS INITIATED.

The world reacted instantly.

The terrain lunged at Brush alone—walls bending toward him, gravity inverting beneath his feet, corrupted chains of code snapping into existence to bind his limbs.

"It's targeting Brush directly!" Equinox shouted.

The team moved without hesitation.

RobbRox rebuilt platforms mid-collapse to give Brush footing. Melody Guard's harmonies cut through the mental pressure trying to overload his senses. FooTube flooded the area with visual noise to confuse targeting algorithms.

But the Dark Web adapted.

The chains ignored illusions. The terrain ignored reconstruction. The pressure ignored everyone except him.

Brush hit the ground hard.

And for the first time since entering the Dark Web, he stayed down.

The system's weight pressed against his body and soul, trying to pin his existence, rewrite him into something manageable.

"So this is it…" Brush muttered, teeth clenched. "You're done testing."

The Dark Web responded—not with words, but with force. A massive pulse slammed into him, erasing chunks of the platform around his body.

Brush's vision fractured.

He felt himself break.

And then—

Determination ignited.

His body reconstructed mid-erasure. His aura surged back stronger, denser, sharper than before. Every time the Dark Web tried to delete him, he returned, dragging more power with him each time.

"You can't contain me," Brush growled as he stood. "I don't stay erased."

The Dark Web reacted instantly.

New symbols burned across the sky.

ESCALATION REQUIRED.DOMAIN DEPLOYMENT AUTHORIZED.

The air cracked.

Far away—far deeper in the corrupted layers—something massive began to awaken. Domains far beyond simple glitch zones started to stir, their signatures overlapping, bleeding into reality.

"Those signals…" Trojan Horse said quietly. "They're not random.""They're preparing something," Frostbinder added."Not something," Brush said, eyes locked forward. "Someone."

The Dark Web had stopped treating him as an intruder.

Now, it saw him as a war-level threat.

And if containment failed…

"Then it's coming to erase us the hard way," Equinox finished.

Brush clenched his fist, aura blazing brighter than ever.

"Let it try."

Above them, the Dark Web pulsed—angry, aware, and no longer subtle.

The real war had just begun.
