Chapter 280 - Chapter 280: Champion and King of Completion!

That was the full content of the system's latest update.

Red's eyes flickered as his gaze moved back and forth between the three newly unlocked functions, a thoughtful expression slowly forming on his face.

Each of the three functions was more practical than the last, neatly resolving many of the problems that had been troubling him before.

"Life's finally starting to look up," he muttered.

Red couldn't help but sigh with emotion once again. It had been a long time since he'd had to worry about running out of battery power.

Although activating these functions would inevitably drain his remaining power reserves completely, as long as they could be converted into tangible benefits, that alone made everything worthwhile.

"AFK farming and shopping can wait for later…"

"What matters now is checking the rest of the rewards."

With a mere thought, a cascade of notifications instantly popped up on the virtual screen before him.

They were all new achievement rewards granted by the system after he had defeated powerful foes and obtained the title of Pokémon League Champion.

[Congratulations to the player for successfully completing the Champion Road challenge and becoming the new Champion of Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! / Let's Go, Eevee! Achievement unlocked: We Are the Champions.]

[Congratulations to the player for completing the first playthrough of Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! / Let's Go, Eevee! Achievement unlocked: King of Completion.]

...

...

"What's going on with Red?"

"He's been smiling nonstop since earlier—did something good happen?!"

Early in the morning, when the warm sunlight pierced through the thin mist and rose from the horizon, illuminating the entire world…

Inside the Going Merry's dining hall, Nami and Robin arrived after washing up, ready to enjoy Sanji's special, love-filled breakfast.

But seeing Red still smiling as brightly as ever—even after nearly an entire morning—Nami finally couldn't hold back. After finishing her meal, she leaned toward Usopp and asked the question that had been bothering her.

After all, she knew…

Last night, Red had apparently taken Usopp and the others back into the game world again to do something big.

"Uh… well…"Usopp scratched his cheek awkwardly, then said with equal confusion,"I'm not really sure what exactly happened either."

"But I can tell you one thing…"

"That expression of his didn't start just now."

"In fact, when we parted ways last night, he was already smiling like that."

"Looks like something genuinely good really did happen," Robin said with a soft smile as she listened nearby. Though just as curious, she didn't press the matter.

At that moment, as if he had overheard their conversation, Red suddenly turned his gaze toward them and smiled.

"Judging by your faces, it seems everyone's quite curious about what's got me so happy?"

"Well then, after breakfast, let's all gather in the meeting room."

"My abilities may be undergoing some changes soon, so it's something we'll need to discuss together."

With that, Red calmly drained his cup of warm milk in one go, then turned around and left the dining hall with a smile still on his face.

Leaving behind a group of Straw Hats wearing utterly baffled expressions.

Fifteen minutes later.

Though it was still early, the Straw Hat crew had already gathered in front of the meeting room on the second deck of the Going Merry.

Even Luffy had followed along, holding bread in one hand and a fried dough stick in the other, with a massive barrel of milk strapped to his back.

The moment they pushed open the meeting room door, they immediately noticed Red already seated in the vice-captain's position.

At the same time…

Their eyes were drawn to four seed-like items resting on the conference table, each one radiating a strange, mysterious energy.

"These are…?"

At first glance, an inexplicable sense of desire rose within the hearts of the Straw Hats.

They stepped into the room and sat down at their respective seats, confusion evident on their faces.

Although this meeting room wasn't used often, everyone except Luffy understood one thing very clearly—if Red had chosen this place for discussion…

Then it meant something significant, something that would affect the entire crew, was about to happen.

Just like a few days ago, when they had debated whether to attack Mary Geoise to rescue enslaved people.

"You all arrived earlier than I expected," Red said with a slight smile once everyone had taken their seats.

Then he went straight to the point.

"I believe you already know that yesterday, Luffy and the others and I successfully defeated the first-stage enemies of the Pokémon world…"

"And as a result, my abilities have undergone a certain degree of evolution."

"So today's meeting is about figuring out how to maximize the effectiveness of these new abilities!"

Snap!

With a crisp snap of his fingers, Merry—who had clearly been prepared in advance—floated out from the corner of the room holding a whiteboard, then fixed it securely to the wall.

The board was filled with densely packed black text, detailing all of Red's newly unlocked abilities following the system update—written just moments earlier.

Despite being a transmigrator, Red had never believed that his mind alone was the strongest among the crew.

Compared to his companions, his only real advantages were foreknowledge and his familiarity with the Pokémon game world.

But after so much time spent growing together, the Straw Hats had already developed a brand-new understanding of the pirate world's structure and its countless sources of information.

Even when it came to the Pokémon world, they were no longer in the dark.

So instead of exhausting himself trying to figure out the optimal usage of his new abilities alone, Red decided it was far more efficient to hand that responsibility over to his companions.

That's right.

After serving as the team's "tool man" for so long, Red had finally learned the proper way to slack off within the Straw Hat crew!

Just like how he had upgraded and evolved the Going Merry—so that he no longer needed to personally use Surf to boost the ship's speed…

Now, he didn't even want to use his brain anymore if he didn't have to.

After all, aside from the secrets tied to being a transmigrator—which weren't convenient to reveal just yet—there was nothing he couldn't share with Luffy and the others.

Because they were all…

People he could truly trust.

...

...

Half an hour later.

After Red finished explaining every detail of the system's update, the rest of the Straw Hats displayed a variety of reactions.

Zoro and Sanji both wore faint smiles, clearly pleased at how much easier it would be to grow stronger in the future. But after exchanging a subconscious glance, the two of them snorted at the same time and turned their heads away in mutual annoyance.

Nami and Robin studied the shopping list Red had rushed to prepare overnight, thoughtful expressions on their faces as they calculated how to help him get the most value out of the system's store.

Usopp and Franky clutched a list of main backpack items, eyes shining as if they'd just discovered an entirely new world.

Luffy and Chopper, who understood absolutely none of it, frowned deeply—apparently believing that if they looked serious enough, they'd somehow understand everything just like everyone else.

Only Brook, who had joined not long ago, remained calm as he poured two cups of black tea—one for Red, and one for himself.

It wasn't that the Straw Hats were excluding him; rather, having joined recently, Brook was still unfamiliar with the Pokémon world and much of the related information.

So he decided to follow Red's example and simply coast along for now.

After some time, Red lightly tapped the table, drawing everyone's attention once more.

Under their focused gazes, he smiled faintly, anticipation shining in his eyes.

"Alright. I believe everyone now has a solid grasp of the new information regarding my abilities."

"Next, let's discuss the first major matter for today."

As he spoke, Red spread his hands, gesturing toward the four elemental seeds on the table, and said with a calm smile:

"Let's decide… who these Attribute Seeds should belong to."
