After breakfast, Elara had Church business to attend to, and Seria needed to coordinate with her guard units. They both kissed Damien goodbye – Elara's kiss familiar and warm, Seria's still slightly uncertain but growing more confident.
"Don't work too hard," Seria told him. "You have a tendency to forget basic needs when you're alone."
"I'll make sure he eats," Elara promised. "I'm back by midday."
They left together, already discussing logistics of Seria's move, and Damien found himself alone in his study with a rare moment of quiet.
