Chapter 2 - Don't come close, monster!

When the woman opened her eyes, she found herself laying in the middle of a crowd of men in black suits, lathered in expensive looking chains around their necks, coupled with shining wrist watches.

The room reeks of alcohol and cigarettes, making her nose scrunch up in both disgust and wonder as she sits up and looks around.

"What the hell? Am I filming for a mob movie?" She blurted out, her eyebrows shooting up in surprise.

The men around her were conversing and looked like they were having fun, but when they heard a woman's voice, all of them ceased and they snapped their heads to turn in her direction.

Those who were not wearing sunglasses had their eyes as wide as saucers— utter disbelief plastered on their faces.

"Holy shit, this body is a wreck." The woman said, gasping as she looked down on the body she possessed, ignoring the men's presence for a moment to look at her state.

"Why am I covered in bruises?" She wondered aloud, her eyes shifting from her legs that had a lot of scratches and bruises before flickering her eyes to her arms that looked the same state as her two pale legs.

Not to mention, her hands hurt like they were run over by a truck and were unable to move because it hurt a whole damn lot, so she looked down, curious as hell.

Is it the same state as her arms and legs?

"Oh, look, I have broken fingers." She chirped, talking to herself.

The woman stared at her right hand's fingers which had a pinky that was bent a little too far to the right, a ring finger that was bent backwards to its limit, a middle finger that was crooked to the left, and a thumb that was bent to its limit as well— it was a mess of blood and grime that stuck to her skin.

Like clockwork, her skill activated itself upon noticing the terrible state of the body of its owner.

Activating [Regeneration].

In an instant, the woman felt her body recovering.

Every bone in her body slowly cracked and popped back into place, along with the broken fingers on her right hand, and her skin that was stained with marks had slowly lost its bruises.

Regeneration complete.

She clenched her hand into a fist to check if she did heal nicely, and when she didn't feel any type of pain, she nodded.

"These fingers wouldn't have reverted back to their original state if it's not me who took over this body." She grumbled, her eyes darting to the men who stood around her, each one of them staring at her with wide eyes.

"But would you look at that, guys? I'm good as new." She hummed, her lips quirking up into a smirk.

"Based on what I could tell due to the state of this body, it seems like I got kidnapped by the mobs." The woman concluded, talking to herself rather than the men around her.

"It's also a possibility that this body got played with and was killed after they had their fun with her." She murmured, craning her head to the left and cracking her neck. "Hm.. What should I do? These idiots seemed to be in shock that I came back to life."

You weren't dead that long, host.

"Y-You!" A man with a high-pitch and shaking voice called, causing the woman to turn her head into his direction. "How are you alive?! I made sure my men beat you up until you're dead—"

"Oh, so you're the one who commanded them." She muttered, cutting off the man's words. the sparkle in her eyes vanishing in an instant and only leaving a cold gaze that sent shivers down the man's spine.

"I'll save you for the last, so be prepared." She hummed, cracking her neck and rolling her shoulders.

The fear in the man's eyes flared, but a new emotion collided with it.

"Save me for the last? How dare you?! I'm not weak!" The man growled and pointed a finger in her direction. "What are you fools standing around for?! Kill her! And this time, make sure that she won't be able to stand back up!"

The men around her snapped out of their stupor and scrambled to get their bearings, running around to pick up their guns and bats that were scattered all over the place.

They were too slow to act on the man's order and gave the woman enough time to bring out her signature weapon from her dark, spacious inventory— a black, enormous, ominous red and black scythe.

A black shadow loomed over her and slowly, the handle of the weapon peeked out. The woman grabbed it and pulled it out of the shadow, then once it was pulled out completely, she slung the scythe over her shoulder with relatively ease, shooting all of them a cocky grin.

"It's been awhile since I have done this, and it's quite disappointing that my first batch of underlings will be disgusting men like you guys." She stated, gripping her scythe tightly.

"Buf all of you should be honored to have some use to someone great like me." She continued, fluttering her eyelashes at them. "After all, it's not everyday that you get to witness the greatness of an otherworldly being such as myself."

"Attack her, you fools!" The man roared, snapping the men out of their stupor once again.

"Fire!" One of them screamed, making the others get into stance and aim their guns at her, then without wasting any second, all of them pulled the trigger and shot their bullets directly at her.

It should have got her. Really. It should have.

But one swing of her scythe was all it took for the bullets to change their course of direction, parrying them without much effort.

The flying bullets collided into the blade of her scythe, the sound that they emitted screeching against their eardrums, with the impact of her signature weapon sending them back to the men with the same force as the guns.

All of them froze, their eyes wide.

"What?"

"What just happened?"

"Wait.. Hey, you're bleeding.."

The men were left confused and disorientated, their eyes taken in the sight of their colleagues having a bullet hole somewhere on their body.

One body fell, then another, and another.

The bodies toppled on the ground in a heap of a mess, the bodies fell after receiving the bullets they fired go through their heads, killing them in a single shot that was meant to kill her.

The woman whistled at the sight of the seven warm corpses before her.

"Would you look at that? Seven bodies right away!" The woman squealed, jumping on her feet and giggling. "All of you did that, silly billies! Be proud of yourselves!"

The remaining men started backing away from her, their eyes wide in fright.

Just what did they unleash?!

"Oh, come on!" The woman huffed and puffed her cheeks out in a faux pout. "Don't look at me with those eyes! I thought we're all buddies here!"

She stepped forward, only for the men to take two steps away.

"Get away!" One of them yelled, pointing his gun shakily at her. "D-Don't come any closer, monster! Don't come close!"

"I'm the monster when all of you were the ones who killed this girl?" She asked and tilted her head, raising an eyebrow, her bottom lip jutting out in an offended pout. "The nerve. Wow. Just wow. I should probably just kill all of you—"

"What do you want, huh?!" The man, who seemed to be the boss, screamed at her.

"Do you want money?! Tell me your price and I'll give it to you!" He cried out, knowing full well that if they were to run, all of them wouldn't come out alive.
