"As expected of The legendary Blank you've already paved the way to victory without us even noticing?" Shaka bowed his head in admiration.
Compared to these geniuses who can outthink gods, I'm just an athlete who needs to stay in my lane. From now on, I'm your loyal subordinate.
Sora was pleased with his attitude, slinging an arm around Shaka's shoulders and laughing: "Of course we can win but we'll need Commander Shaka's help to pull it off."
"Just say the word and ill do it for you."Shaka says while patting his chest
Shiro saw right through him: "Brother, you're up to no good."
Sora chuckled and stuffed the black dragon hide into Shaka's arms: "The task is simple take this out of the city and lure that boss away."
"Huh?" Shaka looked confused.
Sora patted his chest: "Magic in this world is way too broken. The only way to fight it is with more 'magic' of our own."
Shiro added bluntly: "Magic is cheating. Causes trouble."
But I'm only Level 1... Shaka wanted to argue, but seeing Sora's confidence, he could only sigh: "Ugh what a tough life. My injuries from yesterday still haven't fully healed."
He was confident he could draw the monster's attention but one thing bothered him.
"Why not let [Mud Dog] do this? She's Level 3. Speaking of which where is she?"
Shaka scanned the walls but saw no sign of her.
Sora's expression was calm: "She has other duties to handle."
Shiro, seeing Shaka had no objections, handed him a piece of parchment.
"What's this?" Shaka took it. It showed a map of the city walls divided into 100 zones, with precise times and locations marked for him to be at specific points.
Sora smiled mysteriously: "Think of it as a prophecy."
"To receive a prophecy from you how could I not take this seriously?" Shaka nodded firmly. "Leave it to me."
He memorized every mark on the paper, gathered his gear, and headed to the battlements.
By now, the wall's defenders were dwindling. The dwarven blacksmiths once the main offensive force were now holding the line as shields. The Takemikazuchi Familia and Yuuki formed the core fighters. After two hours of intense combat, only a few dozen guards remained standing.
The log bridges had been set ablaze with Molotov cocktails, stopping most monsters from climbing up. But at the main gate, several Minotaurs still charged relentlessly.
Nearly a thousand monsters remained mostly elites.
Ouka tilted his head back to drain a stamina potion, then panted heavily as he asked: "Commander Shaka what now? That monster's magic is terrifying."
Yuuki still looked shaken, her eyes filled with resolve. The guard who'd saved her had been taken for treatment she prayed he'd survive.
Shaka drew his sword and stepped to the edge of the wall: "Don't worry I'll take care of this. Hold the line here while I break through their formation."
"Break through?!" Yamato was alarmed. "Your injuries aren't healed yet!"
"Breaking through" meant charging alone into the monster horde essentially trading his life to ease pressure on the walls. A Level 5 might pull it off, but Shaka's stats were barely stronger than the beasts below.
But Shaka grinned confidently: "I have a secret weapon."
Flames erupted from his body as he activated his magic [Red Flower Bloom] once more.
"And... I was the one who chose to eliminate the aerial units first, which put more pressure on the gate. I have to make up for that mistake."
He pushed off with his feet and leaped from the wall.
"Lord Shaka!" Yamato rushed forward, only to see Shaka engulfed in fire as he plunged into the horde. She immediately began chanting, ready to support him with magic.
Shaka smiled as flames jetted from his feet, his body darting across the battlefield. His hand moved to the mysterious device at his waist, and he pulled the trigger.
Two iron grappling hooks shot out, embedding themselves in a Minotaur's torso. The machine whirred as the chains pulled him forward, changing his trajectory in an instant.
Wind blew his bangs aside, and a flash of determination lit his eyes. A blade flashed, and the Minotaur's head flew off. Just before he hit the ground, flames exploded from his feet recoil sending him soaring back into the air.
The grappling hooks retracted and fired again, latching onto another monster across the field.
Shaka wielded his double-edged sword, its blades moving in unpredictable arcs that left trails of blood. The scorching hot steel cut through monsters like tofu.
Yamato's eyes widened in shock: "What is that?!"
Yuuki shook her head, equally stunned.
But Kanade and Yui who'd come to the battlements to help recognized the equipment immediately.
Yui's eyes sparkled with excitement: "It's 3D Maneuver Gear!!! Just like the Survey Corps fighting Titans flying free through the air!!! You're like Captain Levi!"
Kanade's eyes lit up as she nodded gently in agreement.
Sora explained calmly: "Not exactly it's a semi-finished prototype. The air tanks and thrusters are replaced by his magic. It's more like a high-powered grappling hook system."
Shiro nodded: "Still gave me a shock when I first saw it."
"Wow, this world can even make tech from fantasy stories! That's so cool!"
Shiro gave a thumbs up: "Super awesome!"
Like a butterfly dancing through the air, Shaka used flame jets to maintain speed, shifting direction with his grappling hooks as he cut through the horde seven times over.
The goblin shaman in the distance had already spotted him or rather, the dragon scales he carried. Greed and hunger flashed in its eyes as it brandished its strange blade, and the sky darkened instantly.
The world blurred past Shaka as he moved at breakneck speed, but he never forgot Shiro's instructions.
"2 minutes 30 seconds. Landing zone 033."
Shaka pulled the hook lock, forcing his body sideways five meters.
"2 minutes 32 seconds. Move 3 meters left." He pushed off with his feet, flames erupting as he veered.
BOOM!
A pale bolt of lightning struck where he'd just been. The shockwave sent him tumbling across the ground, but he slapped his arm to activate the jets, launching himself up again. His grappling hook latched onto a lizardman nearby.
"2 minutes 40 seconds. Landing zone 044. Sprint 20 meters forward."
Shaka chanted the instructions as his body moved with precise speed.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!
He dodged four lightning strikes perfectly, his figure now directly in front of the goblin shaman.
The four giant Minotaurs guarding it roared, their shockwaves making Shaka's organs churn.
He fired his grappling hook, wrapping it around one Minotaur's arm. His body shot forward as the creature's hooves shattered and melted under his flames. He halted his momentum, spun around, and drew his sword.
The Minotaur's nape exploded into dust.
"3 minutes 5 seconds. Landing zone 079."
Shaka glanced at the area 100 meters behind him, abandoned his assault, and retreated rapidly.
A moment later—
Terrifying lightning burst from the goblin shaman's body, engulfing a 20-meter radius in white light.
The beast panted heavily, lightning crackling around it. All the Minotaur guards nearby had been reduced to charred dust.
Shaka's face drained of color as he stared in awe, thinking: they predicted all of this!!!
