In the midst of the cheering, class 1-A finally caught a glimpse of Sam's torso. While most of it was charred black, they were able to see some truly horrifying scars. Especially on his back and on his chest. There are claw marks identical to the one on his face.
"Don't those scars…look similar to the ones on his face?" Sero just comes right out and says it.
"So damn manly!" Kirishima is crushing over Sam, while also worried about those scars.
Meanwhile, Sam stands up and walks over to Bakugo.
"Sam! The battles over!" Midnight thinks Sam is going to finish Bakugo.
Sam ignores her and picks him up himself.
"I'll take him to recovery girl. I need to get patched a bit myself."
Midnight wants to stop Sam, but allows him to do so.
Everyone just watches as an injured Sam carries Bakugo over his shoulder like a bag of potatoes.
He leaves the arena and heads to recovery girl. While walking, he is lost in his thoughts.
'They have to have seen this. I have no doubt they will come for me. THAT man… I can only hope he doesn't come here any time soon.'
Finally, he reached the infirmary and once he entered he was met with a peeved Recovery Girl.
"Hmph! You youngin's trying to kill each other?!"
However she gasps when she sees Sam walking like those wounds barely tickled.
"Sorry, I can patch myself if you want?"
She sighs.
"You sit down already. You must be in agony."
Sam complies and puts Bakugo on the bed next to his.
As recovery girl is mumbling and getting ready to heal Sam and Bakugo, Sam can only hope none of these kids have to face the consequences of his actions.
'The last thing they need, is the greatest Mercenary band in the world going ballistic near them. I need to proceed with caution when they come for me.'
Sam sighs and feels so tired.
'Will I ever be at peace? Is this… what you wished for?… Zola?'
Sam let out a tear. Lightly mourning his cursed fate.
———
After being healed by recovery girl, Sam learned about something that angered him, and also worried him.
'Ingenium…'
Sam is reading the article and understands why Iida had to leave early.
But Sam wasn't paying attention to the news about ingenium. He was looking at the perpetrator that crippled him.
'Hero Killer Stain…'
Sam has nothing but resentment for such men. He had seen many of his ilk before. People who force their ideals onto others through death.
Sam is currently in his room, scrolling through the article. He stops scrolling and thinks about Iida.
"He adores his brother… this is world breaking for him. He's either going to be mature for his age and focus on becoming stronger, or he will do the stupid thing of trying to get revenge."
Sam sighs.
"I guess I'll find out tomorrow, won't I? I need to get a look at him. If he has even a slight killing intent, he will hunt Stain and die."
Sam shakes his head and lets go of those thoughts for now. Right now he was getting dressed for the gym.
Recovery girl forbade him from straining his muscles since his arms and back were badly injured in the fight with Bakugo.
But Sam can handle pain better than anyone.
'Nothing could compare to that one time-'
Sam nearly throws up just thinking about that hellish event. All he could say, is that death would have been a luxury at the time.
After cleaning the parts recovery girl didn't heal yet, and replacing some bandages, he was in his workout clothes and ready to work his sweat on.

In a dimly lit bar, two men watch a video of the sports festival. One has blue hair and crusty skin, the other is a walking mass of purple fog.
They are the league of villains, Tomura Shigaraki and Kurogiri.
What they are watching, specifically, is the encore that went viral. The winner of the festival, Katsuki Bakugo and the quirkless monster, Sam Suzuki.
Thinking about Sam, Shigaraki feels great rage.
"That brat. He really is something else. How a quirkless loser like him became so dangerous boggles my mind. Because of him and his aim assist bullshit, Nomu was beat!"
Shigaraki decays the glass of whisky in his hand in anger.
"Tomura Shigaraki. Calm yourself."
Tomura Shigaraki just clicks his tongue at Kurogiri's nagging.
"But seriously, why the hell is he working with the heroes now? He should be on our side!"
Kurogiri, who is cleaning glasses at the bar, thinks about it.
"If I had to guess, he was offered a way out of Tartarus. He had to go to U.A. as a requirement for his release."
Tomura Shigaraki continues watching the video and sees how angry Bakugo is.
"This brat, Bakugo. He literally yelled 'I'm gonna blow your head off' in a hero school?"
"Perhaps he has an uncontrollable temper."
Tomura Shigaraki smiles.
"Or maybe he might understand me more than anyone."
As Tomura watches the replay of the battle, a television audio turns on.
"Samuel Suzuki. Quite the enigma, isn't he Tomura?"
A voice says from the audio.
"Sensei, he is just a quirkless brat. He may have skills but at the end of the day, he isn't worthy of anything."
The so-called sensei of Tomura Shigaraki just chuckles.
"Tomura, let me enlighten about something. A quirkless mercenary that was a master of combat, weaponry, espionage, tactics, and intelligence. Many people thought the same thing… but those same people always ended up with a bullet in their skull."
Tomura Shigaraki finally puts down the phone playing the replay to listen.
"He could fight off armies. Not through strength, but through tactics. He could beat the strongest men, finding a weakness and taking advantage of it. He was truly a force to be reckoned with. But about 2 years ago, he died… at least that's what the world thought.
Tomura Shigaraki already pieced it together.
"Sensei, is this brat…"
"Yes… Sam Suzuki is the mercenary I mentioned. But he was known by another name professionally."
"What name, master?"
Kurogiri who was also curious, finally stopped cleaning glasses to listen to his master.
"He was known… as Canvas."
