Konan's eyes held a smile.
Her fingertip gently touched the young man's chest.
"Light paper sheets, simply covering your body surface, pose no threat to you at all. You cannot immunize against them, you cannot break free, you cannot pass through."
What a powerful person. She saw through Mom's dojutsu in a single exchange!
Seiya's heart sank, and he was deeply wary.
The woman in front of him was right: [Purification] could not immunize against the paper's restraint.
After all, it was like being blocked by a wall; [Purification] could not determine it as negative, thus preventing him from passing through it.
His four limbs were currently sealed.
He couldn't form hand signs, so he couldn't use Fire Release to burn the paper clothing.
Seiya's mind raced. He quickly focused Lightning Release chakra, releasing electricity to scorch the paper sheets.
Unfortunately, it was still of little use.
The scorched paper sheets were quickly replaced by airborne paper sheets, filling the gaps without a single omission.
The paper clothing was intact and undamaged.
Konan smiled sweetly, "Seiya-kun, don't waste your chakra. If I'm not mistaken, I should be the Shinobi in this world who restrains you the most."
Seiya ignored her, instead looking toward the inn.
Konan, not wanting him to worry, spoke to reassure him, "Don't worry. I came alone. Your companions are safe."
Given Yugito sensei's strength, if anyone engaged her, it would certainly cause a commotion.
There should be no one in the current Shinobi world who can defeat Yugito sensei without a sound.
Seiya thought this, reluctantly believing the words of the strange woman.
He then simply gave up the pointless struggle and began to examine the unwelcome guest before him.
A black cloak with red clouds-a familiar sight.
"Are you Uchiha Itachi's accomplice?" Seiya asked.
"Onee-chan belongs to the same organization as him."
"Did you come here to help Uchiha Itachi kill me?"
"He doesn't have that much pull."
"Then why are you looking for me?" Seiya frowned, his eyes suspicious.
Konan smiled sweetly, "I want to catch up and talk to you."
Seiya raised his eyebrow, looking down at the paper clothing covering him.
"Let's not even discuss whether we have a past to catch up on. Even if we did, no one catches up with someone like this."
Konan smiled and said, "If Onee-chan didn't restrain you, you probably wouldn't calmly talk to me."
"You are mistaken," Seiya shook his head, lifting his chin, "Let me go, and I promise to stand here and chat with you for a while."
"Then call me 'Konan-neesan', and I'll let you go."
"Konan-neesan." Seiya didn't hesitate; the words slipped out.
"Aww! Seiya-kun is so obedient~"
Konan's eyes were full of smiles.
She responded warmly, immediately dissipating all the paper sheets on the young man's body.
Seiya couldn't help but mutter to himself.
He had originally planned to trick the woman into releasing the restraint and then immediately escape.
But her releasing him so quickly made him hesitate.
Furthermore, this woman did not look like the approachable type, so why was she acting so kind and friendly?
Could she really be an old acquaintance?
Konan saw his confusion and smiled, introducing herself.
"My name is Konan. I met your mother, and you, in Kouun City, Land of Iron. The 'Peace' supermarket where your mother used to work was founded by me. Later, your mother found the Land of Iron unstable, so she took you to Kumogakure."
Seiya thought for a moment and said, "I was only one or two years old then. I don't have much memory of it."
"Onee-chan will show you two things, and you'll understand."
Konan gave a shallow smile, summoned a scroll, and took out a photograph and a stack of documents, handing them to Seiya.
The photograph was a group picture of Konan with the mother and son.
The warm sunlight kissed their smiling faces. The background was the gate of the 'Peace' supermarket.
The documents were the 'Peace' supermarket financial reports that Megumai had approved back then, each signed with her name, the same as her current handwriting.
The facts were laid out.
Seiya nodded thoughtfully, then called out 'Konan-neesan' again.
This time, it held a degree of genuine sincerity.
"Good boy!"
Konan naturally reached out and linked her arm through his.
Seiya's expression froze.
He felt a little awkward.
Although Konan-neesan was an old acquaintance, he currently had no memory of her and found such intimate behavior difficult to adjust to.
Konan was unconcerned, smiling, "When you were little, you often hugged me and begged me to play with you! You've grown so much in a blink of an eye. How did you become shy?"
Seiya had nothing to say, so he just followed Konan to a dessert shop on the street.
...
After a while, Konan pointed to the table full of colorful desserts and asked, "Seiya-kun, do you still like these flavors?"
Seiya nodded, believing Konan's identity a little more.
Then, he couldn't help but ask, "Konan-neesan, what organization did you join? Why do you take in rogue Shinobis who commit atrocities, like Uchiha Itachi and Kisame?"
"Our organization is called 'Akatsuki,' and its aim is to achieve peace in the Shinobi world."
"Rogue Shinobis achieving peace?" Seiya looked disdainful, finding it pure fantasy.
Konan patiently explained, "Whether they are rogue Shinobis or not is not important. What matters is that they can contribute to peace. Your mother once said, 'The ocean accepts hundreds of rivers; hence, it is great.' Onee-chan wholeheartedly agrees. An organization with a grand vision should tolerate all types of Shinobis!"
Seiya challenged, "Can your organization ensure that these unruly rogue Shinobis truly dedicate themselves to the cause?"
"Yes!" Konan was confident and didn't hesitate.
Seiya raised an eyebrow, noncommittal, and lowered his head to focus on the desserts.
Konan knew he didn't believe her, so she immediately explained, "The leader of the organization has the greatest strength in the Shinobi world and can easily tame these rogue Shinobis, preventing them from harboring any malicious intent."
Easily tame?
That's too arrogant a tone!
Seiya was slightly surprised and skeptical.
Mangekyo Sharingan, Tailed Beasts without tails-who could easily defeat Shinobis of this level?
Besides his mother, there should be no one else!
Seiya asked curiously, "Konan-neesan, who is your leader? Someone so powerful should have a name that echoes throughout the Shinobi world!"
"The leader is named Pain."
"Pain?" Seiya looked lost; he had never heard of the name.
"It's normal that you don't know, Seiya-kun. Pain's reputation is currently limited to Amegakure. However, in a few years, his name will be famous throughout the Shinobi world."
"..."
Seiya was speechless.
Konan added, "Pain has the Rinnegan of the Sage of Six Paths. He is a god descended upon the world, whose aim is to bring peace and stability to the Shinobi world."
"..."
Seiya silently swallowed a piece of sushi, vaguely feeling that this strange sister he hadn't seen in years was a bit fanatical.
At the same time, Konan revealed her true intentions.
"Seiya-kun, are you willing to join the Akatsuki organization and change this world of conflict with us?"
