Chapter 56 - Chapter 056: A Boy in the Throes of Youth

In fact, Yakushi Nono had considered everything thoroughly, and her method of conveying information was clever and wouldn't arouse suspicion.

But she overlooked one thing-Seiya's sense of crisis.

Seiya's reaction upon hearing about Itachi Uchiha's whereabouts was not much different from his reaction to Kisame Hoshigaki's.

He considered them to be irrelevant missing-nin who needed to be carefully watched out for, but he was far from being on high alert.

Yakushi Nono's exaggerated acting, in Seiya's eyes, was merely the fear ordinary people had of Itachi Uchiha. Other than that, it did not move him at all.

However, Yakushi Nono's effort was not completely in vain. Although it failed to alert Seiya, it successfully reached Yugito Nii's ears.

The four went upstairs, entered the suite, and closed the door.

Yugito Nii spoke up to remind him, "Seiya, we can't stay in Suigyoku for too long. We must leave here as soon as possible."

Seiya was slightly puzzled and asked, "Why?"

Then he confidently said, "Instructor, are you worried about Itachi Uchiha? No matter how much of a killer he is, he can't possibly slaughter everyone in Suigyoku the way he slaughtered the Uchiha. If we rest for a few days, we won't run into him."

Yugito Nii slowly said, "Itachi Uchiha certainly won't slaughter everyone in Suigyoku, but he might seek us out and attack us."

Seiya's expression froze.

With his instructor's reminder, he gradually realized that he was an Uchiha descendant and was highly likely to be targeted by Itachi Uchiha, the person who had massacred his entire clan!

"I was careless, Instructor."

Having lived in Kumogakure since childhood and being called "Tojo-kun," Seiya rarely realized he was an Uchiha descendant, which led him to lose sensitivity to the Uchiha name.

In his subconscious, he was not closely related to the Uchiha of Konoha.

In a sense, his current state of mind was precisely what Kumogakure had worked hard to achieve.

Yugito Nii smiled gently and patted the boy's shoulder. "It's not your fault. The Uchiha are too far removed from you."

"Itachi Uchiha is a ruthless character capable of wipimg out his entire clan, and his strength is extraordinary. I am not confident I can defeat him. Furthermore, if a battle breaks out, it would be difficult for me to protect all of you. Therefore, we should try our best to avoid running into him and take preventative measures."

As she spoke, Yugito Nii spread out a map to determine the relative positions of Midoriwa City and Suigyoku.

"At a Shinobi's normal travel speed, Itachi Uchiha should arrive here in about half a day. We will cut that time in half, rest until evening, and then leave Suigyoku, heading in the same direction as Itachi Uchiha's route to quickly increase the distance between us."

"Karin, you are responsible for sensing and vigilance. Report immediately if any powerful chakra approaches Suigyoku!"

"Yes! Mission accomplished, guaranteed!" Karin stood tall, full of energy and spirit.

"Seiya, you and Karin will take the 'night' watch, and Samui and I will rest," Yugito Nii instructed.

As the main combat force, she and the medical Shinobi, Samui, needed to prioritize resting and recovering their energy to cope with any potential fight.

"Instructor, Samui-nee, please rest assured."

Seiya moved a chair to the center of the room, stood his katana by his side, and focused on keeping watch.

Karin immediately moved a chair and scurried to his side, actively participating in the 'night' watch.

Yugito Nii and Samui each went to bathe and rest.

After the two adults went to sleep, Karin whispered, "Tojo-kun, don't you think Samui-nee has an incredible figure?"

"..."

Is this something we can talk about? Seiya looked at Karin in shock but remained silent.

"Tojo-kun, why is your face red?"

"Is my face red?"

Seiya was slightly startled, realizing his cheeks felt a little hot.

"Tojo-kun is shy! Shy Tojo-kun is so handsome, too!" Karin giggled softly, her eyes crescent-shaped.

"Thank you for the compliment."

Seiya returned a sunny smile, secretly sighing in relief that Karin hadn't continued talking about Samui-nee's figure.

However, her unintentional words made him start to reflect on the strange changes he had been experiencing recently.

He kept inadvertently staring at Samui-nee, and it was easy for him to get lost in his gaze.

He had known Samui-nee since he was a child, yet now it was as if he were seeing her for the first time, experiencing a novel feeling, constantly refreshed, and inexplicably excited and stimulated.

Seiya had previously consulted Instructor Yugito about this in private.

The answer he received was that it was a normal change during adolescence, an awakening of gender awareness, and a recognition of the beauty of the opposite sex.

It was natural for people to enjoy appreciating beauty.

Even Yugito-sensei, who was a woman, couldn't help but look at Samui a few extra times.

Yugito-sensei even said that if he wanted to look, he should do so openly, and she would explain it to Samui.

Could Seiya say that he wanted to look?

Absolutely not!

He was instinctively shy, believing this was bad behavior that must be stopped, so he resolutely rejected Instructor Yugito's suggestion.

However, even though he had made up his mind, his eyes were uncontrollable.

Samui-nee was like a magnet, possessing immense gravity that always caught his attention.

Just moments ago, Samui-nee, emerging like a water lily, was even more so!

Seiya felt very helpless and couldn't help but feel ashamed.

Just now, when he heard Karin openly discussing Samui-nee's figure, he was truly startled.

He was afraid Karin would mention him secretly staring at the imposing Samui-nee.

Fortunately, Karin quickly changed the subject and complimented his handsomeness, sparing him the embarrassment of not knowing where to put himself.

However, Seiya's nerves did not relax at all; instead, they became even more tense, as he felt ashamed and remorseful for his behavior.

In the evening, Yugito Nii and Samui woke up on time.

After the two had dressed, Seiya walked over to them and bowed his head to Samui, apologizing, "I'm sorry, Samui-nee. I shouldn't have secretly looked at you today."

Samui's eyes flashed slightly.

She scanned the boy's slightly red face and said lightly, "It's alright. That's a normal reaction. Seiya, you don't need to feel burdened by it."

"Aren't you angry?" Seiya was a little surprised.

Samui shook her head. She did not dwell on the matter but moved on to business.

"Go and help Karin check her Shinobi tools and equipment. We need to hurry and leave Suigyoku."

"Understood!"

Having apologized, a huge weight was lifted off Seiya's mind. Feeling refreshed, he went to find Karin.

Yugito Nii watched his retreating figure, a smile in her eyes. "Seiya has grown up."

"He has," Samui nodded, reflecting. "I need to be more mindful from now on."

As night fell, the four packed up, ate dinner at the restaurant opposite the inn, and headed for the East Gate of Suigyoku.

The news of Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki was spreading wildly throughout the city.

Many people were fleeing, causing the East Gate to be much more crowded than usual.

The line of people leaving the city stretched long.
