Chapter 46 - Chapter 046: The Abrupt End of the Two Tomoe

Chakra increased in waves, finally crossing a certain critical point.

Sufficient chakra!

Summoning Jutsu: Midori-chan!

Seiya squatted down and pressed his hand against the lake surface.

Far away in the Tojo family's basement, in a thick sealed tube on a glass table, a green female python opened its eerie golden snake eyes, flicked its tongue, and then vanished.

The next moment, accompanied by a hazy mist, it appeared on the rippling lake surface.

"Such a small snake!"

Karui's expression froze.

She looked at the mountain-like Eight-Tails, then at the finger-sized small snake, finding it hard to believe: "Can this little thing entangle it?"

"Don't worry."

Seiya tapped the snake's head.

Midori-chan shook its tail and quickly swam over ten meters forward.

Then, its snake eyes blazed with golden light.

The next moment, its body abruptly grew colossal, thousands of times bigger!

It was like a lush, deep green field, continuous and verdant.

Its gold-flashing snake eyes shone like the high-hanging stars and moon.

Midori-chan obediently placed its head close to the lake surface, extending it in front of Seiya.

"What!"

Karui was stunned, staring blankly at the green python, which was only half the size of the Eight-Tails, unable to believe it was the tiny thing from just now.

Seiya stroked the beautiful, crystalline snake scales, and said proudly:

"This is my mom's summoning beast. It takes a lot of chakra to summon it!"

"Amazing!" Karui exclaimed in admiration.

Omoi looked up at the fierce and terrifying Eight-Tails, worrying:

"The summoning beast probably can't defeat a Tailed Beast! This is the Eight-Tails, which only has fewer tails than the Nine-Tails!"

Karui glared at him: "Jinx! Stop saying discouraging things!"

"It really can't win." Seiya was very rational. "Midori-chan only needs to stall the Eight-Tails for a few minutes, giving us time to escape."

The green python understood and twisted its body, charging ferociously towards the rampaging Eight-Tails.

It opened its bloody mouth and fiercely bit one of the blocking octopus tails.

The Eight-Tails winced in pain and whined, immediately whipping a tail toward the green python.

In an instant, the two behemoths wrestled together, churning the lake water into a chaotic mess, with surging white waves and continuous spray.

Seiya and the three others seized the opportunity and quickly ran towards the shore.

Unfortunately, the good times didn't last.

Just as they were about to meet up with their teachers and classmates, another octopus tail descended from the sky, raising waves and blocking their path.

The teacher who came to greet them was unfortunately struck into the bottom of the lake, losing all signs of life.

Seiya frowned and looked back, only to see that the green python was already at a disadvantage, its scales shattering like rain all over its body, struggling to fend off the Eight-Tails' powerful attacks.

The might of a Tailed Beast was, after all, not something an ordinary creature could challenge.

If Midori-chan were to continue fighting forcefully, it would probably perish here in a few minutes.

In a flash of thought, Seiya shouted: "Midori-chan, go back and tell my mom to come to the Valley of Clouds and Lightning!"

The next moment, he decisively released the summoning. The green python vanished from the lake surface.

The eight thick octopus tails, like colossal pillars, created a giant cage.

The students had nowhere to escape, only able to continuously wail, roar, and resist.

The teachers rushed around, desperately resisting and trying their best to save the children from the Eight-Tails' clutches.

However, while the rescue efforts were significantly effective, the number of teachers was constantly dwindling.

Countless bodies had already sunk into the lake.

Seiya looked around at the scene of devastation. Realizing that escape was impossible, he decisively abandoned the fantasy.

"The situation is like this, we shouldn't think about escaping anymore. Let's just avoid the Eight-Tails' attacks on this lake. Whether we can hold out until the village's experts arrive to rescue us depends on our luck!"

"That's all we can do!" Karui sighed.

Omoi said pessimistically: "Let's split up and run. That way, even if one of us is unfortunately hit by a tail whip, we won't be completely wiped out."

"..."

Although Karui really wanted to reprimand Omoi for being a jinx again, she had to admit that he had a point.

Seiya warned: "The Eight-Tails' tails can regenerate, so we can't inflict effective damage on it. Therefore, don't attack it, just dodge it. Needless provocation is meaningless. What we need to do is try our best to stay alive until the adults come to save us!"

"Understood!"

Arui and the other two said in unison and then split up to run in different directions.

Seiya decisively took off his shirt and pants, leaving only his underwear.

After all, in this lake, his clothes were already soaked by the waves and had become a burden.

Continuing to wear them was useless and a waste of stamina.

Looking up at the immensely powerful Eight-Tails, Seiya couldn't help but frown.

The movement of the eight octopus tails was completely erratic.

With his single tomoe Sharingan, he couldn't see through their trajectory or predict them.

He could only rely on luck!

The hoped-for rescue was slow in coming.

Seiya and the others were too young. Even with continuous training, they were still running out of stamina.

Soon, they were panting heavily, and their movement speed slowed down significantly, making it difficult to continue dodging the Eight-Tails' attacks.

Karui, with the least stamina, was the first to be hit by a powerful wave stirred up by an octopus tail, and she fainted in the lake.

Following that, Arui, who was submerged under the lake, failed to dodge in time and was grazed by the tip of an octopus tail.

After tumbling a few times underwater, she also fainted.

Seiya and Omoi saw this and quickly split up to rescue the nearest friend.

Omoi had just pulled Arui out when he was violently swept away by a wave several stories high.

"Omoi!"

Seiya's eyes were bloodshot.

He wanted to save him but was powerless.

Carrying Karui, he couldn't possibly catch up with the high-speed wave.

Just then, the Eight-Tails took advantage of his distraction and slammed a wave behind him.

The wave was immensely high, and with an imposing, unstoppable force, it bore down on Seiya, like a tall building collapsing!

Seiya realized something was wrong and subconsciously turned around sharply, only to see a world of gloom.

The cloud-shrouding, sun-blocking wave was coming right at him, and there was no way to avoid it.

Am I going to die?

Seiya's eyes widened in terror. A flash of memory ran through his mind, all of it his mother's face.

I'll never see Mom again...

Seiya's sorrow was overwhelming, tears streamed from his eyes, and the tomoe in his eyes spun rapidly, leaving afterimages.

In an instant, they became two tomoe.

Unfortunately, there was still no power to turn the tide.

Just as the tomoe was about to conjure another afterimage, the massive wave slammed down over Seiya's head.

In the nick of time, the boy's body suddenly became translucent and illusory.

The wave slammed down with great force, but it didn't cause any pain or injury, nor did it even shake the boy's posture in the slightest.

Seiya still stood firmly on the lake surface, like an indestructible ancient reef.

The Eight-Tails paused slightly, surprised by the boy's ability, which was enough to defy fate.

Seiya was equally incredulous, watching with his own eyes as his body transitioned from illusory back to solid.

Is this my consciousness remaining after death?

Seiya tentatively pinched his own face, and then pinched Karui's arm. To his surprise, both felt real!

I didn't die!

Hahaha! I didn't die!

I am immortal! I am immortal!!

Seiya was overjoyed, unable to stop himself from laughing maniacally up at the sky.

Mom, your son didn't die!
