Chapter 408 - Chapter 409: New Mission, Tony in Action

Inside the newly rented house.

Jimmy had finished making lunch. Fiona and Liam sat at the dining table, slowly enjoying the meal.

To be honest, the lunch tasted pretty average.

However, Fiona didn't really care and ate leisurely.

As she ate, a thought suddenly occurred to Fiona. She looked up at Jimmy and said, "I want to meet your family."

Jimmy was stunned for a moment, then smiled faintly. "You wouldn't want to meet them. They are all assholes. You'd be very disappointed."

Hearing this, Fiona's gaze shifted slightly. She glanced between Jimmy's legs and made a dirty joke. "It wouldn't be the first time I've been disappointed, anyway."

Fiona hadn't been full earlier, so she was actually serious when she said this.

Jimmy was honestly a bit embarrassed, but because he had such a good temper, he didn't get angry or retort. He just nodded. "Okay, I'll arrange it."

Satisfied, Fiona smiled. "You really aren't great at making lunch."

"You do it from now on," Jimmy replied with a smile.

The two chatted idly, while Liam sat aside, looking around with his big eyes, though no one knew what he was looking at.

The Gallagher House.

Lip rushed home in a hurry.

Coincidentally, Debbie, who had gone to the hospital but couldn't find Frank, and had searched everywhere on her way back without success, also returned to the Gallagher house right on his heels.

Seeing Debbie, Ian immediately showed a brilliant smile. He went up to greet her, gave her a hug, and said excitedly, "Debbie, welcome home."

Debbie liked Ian quite a bit, so despite feeling down about not finding Frank, she still managed a smile. "Ian..."

They hugged for a few seconds, let go, and then both sat on the sofa.

"I didn't find Frank. The hospital said he was discharged the same night he was admitted," Debbie anxiously talked about Frank's situation as soon as she sat down. "On the way back, I looked everywhere, but I couldn't find him..."

She paused, then added, "His liver is failing. He needs surgery. He's been out there alone for days... could he already be dead..."

Lip lit a cigarette and replied casually, "If he died, he actually did us all a huge favor. Debbie, he's not worth wasting your energy on."

Debbie didn't want to hear that kind of talk. She immediately glared at Lip. "He's our father. Lip, how can you be so cold-blooded?"

Looking at Debbie like this, Lip felt helpless. He shook his head gently, didn't lose his temper, and said nicely, "I'm not cold-blooded. Debbie, you're still young, you don't understand..."

"I'm not young anymore!" Debbie didn't let Lip finish, emphasizing her point with a raised voice.

Seeing this, Ian, who didn't want the family to fall out right after reuniting, hurriedly spoke up to play peacemaker. "Okay, okay. Lip, say less. Debbie, we'll make some calls later to check the morgues and other hospitals to see if Frank is there."

Hearing this.

Debbie gave Lip a complicated look and stopped talking.

Lip was truly speechless at Debbie's behavior. He took a few drags of his cigarette and couldn't be bothered to say more.

Great.

Even if Frank wasn't there, the Gallagher house had still turned into this ghostly state because of him.

This showed just how powerful Frank's influence was.

Ian had made a special trip back, but certainly not to deal with this kind of crap. He rolled his eyes, looked at the wretched state of Lip and Debbie, and instantly had the urge to bail.

A few minutes later.

The atmosphere was stiff and wasn't getting better. Ian got up to run. "I have to work for a few hours this afternoon. I'll bring some stuff back tonight, and we'll celebrate properly."

Ian left, leaving only Lip and Debbie in the Gallagher house.

Debbie was still too young. After finishing his cigarette, Lip took a silent deep breath and had to speak up, taking the initiative to bow his head and comfort Debbie.

Dex Restaurant.

The group of singers, along with their assistants and managers, all disregarded their image and feasted heartily. After finishing lunch, since it was about time, they reluctantly wiped their mouths, ready to head to the shooting range for pre-show preparations.

"Mr. Ding, I'm coming back here to eat tonight!"

"Me too."

"I'm coming to eat tomorrow too!"

"I want to eat everything on the menu!"

"..."

In front of delicious food, everyone is equal.

Singers were no exception.

Watching the singers behave like this, Bianca was incredibly happy.

There was no helping it; her boyfriend was so amazing, naturally, she had to be proud and happy.

Dexter smiled brightly and nodded to the singers. "No problem."

After a bit of noise, the group set off. Escorted by a bunch of security personnel, they struggled through the sea of people, got into their cars with difficulty, and moved toward the shooting range.

At the entrance of the Alibi Room.

Kevin, Kermit, and the other barflies were all watching the spectacle.

"Jesus!"

"Dexter is a beast!"

"It's good to be rich!"

"Who would have thought so many people would run to this slum?"

"..."

The drunks chattered non-stop.

Kevin didn't make a sound. He just watched with burning eyes, feeling a bit envious of Dexter's success in his heart.

It was just envy, not jealousy... this kind of envy was human nature, nothing strange about it.

Time passed slowly.

Dexter and his group left the street, and the crowded tide of people naturally followed. Finally, the street returned to some semblance of normalcy.

Tony and the other police officers responsible for maintaining order all breathed a sigh of relief, ready to go get lunch.

Having been busy until now without time to eat, Tony and the others' stomachs were growling with hunger.

But just at this moment.

A task came from dispatch. A landlord reported that an unoccupied building under his name had been taken over by a bunch of junkies and needed immediate attention.

Tony had no choice. He smiled at his partner. "Let's handle this task, then eat."

In reality, Tony could have found an excuse not to take this task, but Tony had always been very serious about his work.

This dragged his partner down with him.

His partner was starving and didn't want to go. He thought for a moment and asked Tony, "Your treat?"

Tony smiled. "My treat."

Only then was his partner willing. "Alright, let's go."

The two got in the car, and the police cruiser sped away, heading straight for the building occupied by the junkies.

About ten minutes later.

Tony and his partner, along with some officers arriving from other locations, arrived successively. They got out of their cars and nimbly began their preparations.

Service weapons, flashlights, protective suits, handcuffs...

Junkies were terrifying. If one wasn't careful and got poked by a needle from a junkie, getting infected with some messy disease would be truly fucking depressing!

Tony and the other officers—no one had any desire to take that risk.

So.

Before the operation, they all tacitly unlocked the safety on their guns, ready to fire immediately if any junkie went crazy.

What? What if they kill someone?

If they die, they die.

Junkies weren't worth sympathy.
