Chapter 406 - Chapter 407: Dexter Restaurant Gains Fame Across America

Leaving the Jackson house and standing outside the yard, Lip took out his cigarettes again, lit one, and then called Karen.

Karen was tidying up the apartment with Jody.

By now.

There was only one vacant room left in the apartment building. All the other rooms had tenants, meaning Karen could collect nearly ten thousand dollars in rent every month.

Karen was in a very good mood about this, thinking that as long as she rented out this last room as soon as possible, she could try doing other businesses.

Maybe, together with Dexter, she could buy another apartment building and wait to collect rent and make money.

Her phone rang. Karen took it out and saw Lip's name. She was a bit surprised, then guessed that Lip must have been released early.

Karen grinned, didn't hesitate, and pressed answer directly, taking the initiative to say with a smile, "Hello?"

"Karen, it's me, Lip," Lip said in a calm tone. "I'm out. Is it convenient to meet? We need to talk about the baby."

Karen actually didn't want to see Lip and had absolutely no interest in him anymore. But thinking of Dexter's hatred for Lip, hehe. "Sure."

Hearing this, Lip silently breathed a sigh of relief. "Where are you? I'll come find you."

Karen didn't hesitate and gave the address of the apartment building.

The call ended. Karen decisively made up an excuse for Jody, told him to keep tidying up, left the room, and called Dexter.

As the owner of the shooting range, for tomorrow's event, Dexter had been supervising at the range all morning to ensure there were no problems in any aspect. He had just started driving toward the restaurant because it was almost opening time.

Seeing Karen's call, Dexter answered smoothly. "Hello."

"I just got a call from Lip. He was released early and wants to meet me to talk about the baby," Karen got straight to the point and said, "What do you want me to do?"

As the old saying goes, a leopard can't change its spots.

Actually, looking at the entire original series, Lip's personality and temper never changed from beginning to end... Later on, it was only because he experienced too many setbacks that his sharp edges were smoothed by reality. Being beaten by reality, he had to rein in some of his temper.

That version of Lip was actually okay to get along with.

Dexter couldn't help but think of Lip in the later stages of the original show and found it very interesting. "Meet him first. See if he has changed."

"After meeting him, tell me what you find."

"Okay." By now, Karen was basically obedient to Dexter.

Dexter didn't say more, hung up, and continued driving toward the restaurant.

Dexter Restaurant was not open to the public for lunch today.

A group of singers, including Maroon 5, would be dining at the restaurant at noon.

Dexter had already hired a security company to guard the inside and outside of the restaurant to ensure no unnecessary problems arose.

Arriving at the street where the restaurant was located...

Almost logically, the entire street was basically blocked tight.

When it came to chasing stars, these young men and women with nothing better to do were truly crazy enough.

Dexter couldn't drive through, so he had to turn around, find a place to park, and then walk over.

This was not an easy task.

The reason was simple.

Because of tomorrow's concert, plus the fame of Dexter Restaurant, etc., Dexter had long become a prominent figure in Chicago. Many people recognized Dexter's face.

There it was.

Before he could take more than a few steps, Dexter was surrounded. Immediately after, God knows how many microphones were shoved over. Some reporters even wished they could shove the microphone into his mouth.

It was truly fucking excessive.

Dexter was very helpless but couldn't show his displeasure, so he had to smile perfunctorily and move forward with difficulty.

So, the road that wasn't very long took Dexter a long time to walk. It could be called an ordeal of overcoming five passes and slaying six generals before he finally arrived at the restaurant entrance.

The security personnel guarding the entrance immediately let Dexter in with professional training and then stopped the crowd of unrelated people.

Entering the restaurant, Dexter immediately let out a long sigh of relief, then smiled at Bianca, who had specially taken leave today and didn't go to work. "It's terrifying outside. If I knew earlier, I wouldn't have come back."

"Hehe," Bianca returned a brilliant smile. "If you don't come back, who will cook lunch for them?"

"You," Dexter replied with a smile.

Bianca shook her head repeatedly. "I can't."

The two joked for a few sentences before Dexter turned to the group of singers who had arrived not long ago and greeted them one by one with a smile.

To be honest, as public figures, these singers all had decent tempers and were polite.

After chatting for a short while.

"So, what would everyone like to eat? I'll make it for you," Dexter said.

Although these singers were not from Chicago, having taken Dexter's money and come here, they had more or less learned about Dexter through the internet and knew how famous this restaurant was. So, they were indeed somewhat expectant.

Soon.

The singers all ordered their meals. Vivian and Veronica noted them down with very happy smiles.

Dexter then asked Bianca, "What are you eating?"

Bianca was very happy today, her face full of happy smiles. "I want to eat roast meat."

"Make you fat to death," Dexter joked and walked toward the kitchen.

Bianca wasn't annoyed at all. She cheerfully picked up a piece of fruit and popped it into her mouth.

People change. Being with Dexter for so long, whether at home or in the restaurant, Bianca had long become much more at ease.

Time passed in a flash.

Portions of fragrant lunch, which greatly stimulated the singers' appetites, were brought out from the kitchen.

These singers were all rich people and had eaten all kinds of delicacies, but they had never smelled such fragrant food. They were all stunned.

In a short while.

Nom nom nom~~

"Jesus Christ! What is this? I've never eaten anything this delicious!"

"Holy shit!!"

"This trip was not in vain!"

"My god! Too delicious!!"

"..."

Just like that, logically, the group of singers were full of praise. Immediately after, one by one, they took out their phones, opened Twitter, and typed away a storm of praise online.

[Chicago South Side, Dexter Restaurant, the food here is ridiculously delicious!]

[Dexter Restaurant kills all restaurants in America!]

[Everyone must come and try it if you have the chance, absolutely can't miss it!]

[...]

In just a moment, as tweet after tweet was sent out.

Twitter exploded.

Dexter Restaurant skyrocketed onto the trending list.

Countless people across the United States successively learned about Dexter Restaurant located in the slum of Chicago's South Side!

It was just that Dexter didn't want to and couldn't open the restaurant elsewhere... otherwise, just with this wave of publicity, he would have made a fortune.

One could even say that this wave of publicity was worth the cost of inviting these singers over.
