A new day began.
Early in the morning, having barely slept a wink all night, Eddie—sporting dark circles under his eyes—left the house.
He drove back to the alley where he had dumped Frank the night before, wanting to see if anyone had found him.
When he got there, Frank was gone.
Eddie assumed someone had found Frank, called the cops, and the police had taken the body away. Instantly, he felt a mix of relief and rising tension.
It should be today... If the police don't come for me today, I should be in the clear, Eddie thought, wiping away sweat he hadn't realized was beading on his face.
Back in the car, his mind raced with messy thoughts for a while before he finally let out a long sigh and drove home.
Given what happened, work was out of the question today. Eddie decided to wait at home for the fallout of Frank's death.
The Jackson House.
Around 8:00 AM.
Karen and Jody woke up, washed up, and went downstairs for breakfast.
By today, Jody had officially moved into the house and was living quite comfortably.
Sheila liked Jody a lot. She felt he was a good person, much better than that Lip kid. Seeing Jody, she enthusiastically served him breakfast.
Eddie sat leaning against the sofa, shooting a cold glance at Jody. He had no energy to care about Jody today, so he withdrew his gaze and continued his anxious wait for the results.
Just like that, a strange sense of harmony descended upon the house.

After dropping Bianca off at the hospital as usual, Dexter drove to Dex Western Restaurant.
The renovation was finished yesterday. The tables, chairs, and related equipment would be installed successively today.
Dexter lit a cigarette and strolled around to take a look. Then, he grabbed the stack of resumes that had been submitted over the past few days, found a place to sit, and started flipping through them.
The chefs, waiters, dishwashers, and other staff were basically settled. As of today, only a capable manager was missing.
Dexter was offering top-tier Chicago pay for the manager position, so the number of resumes was countless—truly a lot.
So, how to choose?
Simple. Just like picking waitresses: choose the ones who are beautiful, have great bodies, and have a bit of education.
Why education?
The reason was simple. Without education, communication is a real drag, and getting along is messy as hell.
Education is an invisible trench in the adult world.
Dexter held his cigarette in his mouth and read slowly.
Tommy, acting as the foreman, was also idle. He ran over, exchanged a few words, and seeing Dexter had no objections, sat next to him to flip through the resumes Dexter had set aside.
"Jesus, Dexter, everyone you picked is a model," being a man, Tommy figured out the pattern after flipping through just a few resumes and looking at the photos. He exclaimed with a laugh.
Dexter grinned. "Models usually have small cafeterias [breasts]; I picked high-end models with large cafeterias."
Tommy laughed. "You're up to no good. What if Bianca finds out?"
Dexter shook his head with a smile. "I won't do anything, just admiring. More importantly, this is business."
"Think about it: you walk in, see a bunch of fair-skinned, beautiful women with long legs... will you really care that much about the food?"
"The beauties are the food."
Hearing this, Tommy decisively gave a thumbs up. "No wonder you make so much money. Badass!"
Dexter chuckled.
While talking, Dexter finished the rough selection and started the second round of screening.
Once done, Dexter took out his phone and started making calls.
Each call took about ten seconds. In ten minutes, it was done.
"Tommy, I'm leaving. If these beauties arrive, have them wait here," Dexter said, standing up.
"No problem," Tommy agreed instantly, happy to have beauties to look at.
Dexter left, strolling back to DexRestaurant, which wasn't far away on the diagonal opposite side of the street.
He arrived at the restaurant.
Svetlana was there, sitting on the sofa, obviously waiting for him.
Dexter smiled when he saw her and walked straight over.
Truth be told, although he hadn't contacted Svetlana recently, the South Side was small. Coming and going, he had roughly seen the situation at the two fruit shops.
Svetlana hadn't stayed behaved for long before pulling a stunt... but it was a small stunt, not a big problem.
What stunt?
There were more "Russians" in the two fruit shops.
Dexter didn't know where Svetlana had dug up these Russians to help out in the shops... making the two fruit shops somewhat smoky and chaotic.
After all, they were Russians, and definitely illegal immigrants—Russians who didn't know much English and loved smoking and drinking vodka.
Dexter sat down next to Svetlana and took the initiative to smile. "I guess you have something going on again."
Hearing this, Svetlana panicked a little and nodded. "There is something..."
Dexter took out a cigarette and handed one to Svetlana. "Is it about you turning the two fruit shops into a Russian theme?"
Human consciousness is interesting. Before Dexter said this, Svetlana didn't think it was a problem. "You hate it?"
Dexter lit his own cigarette, took a drag, and smiled. "It has nothing to do with whether I hate it or like it. It's about what kind of person you want to become."
"I want to ask, why did you bring those Russians in?"
Svetlana was smart, but she had blind spots. She didn't catch Dexter's meaning and answered based on her own thoughts.
The answer was just that standard stuff: being in a foreign land, everyone is Russian, fellow compatriots, should help each other, should unite.
Dexter indeed didn't like it—one could even say he hated that mindset. He exhaled a puff of smoke and smiled. "Capital has no borders. When you have time, think about that sentence."
Dexter had no interest in a deep conversation. "Alright, tell me why you're looking for me."
After being lectured by Dexter, Svetlana's emotions were a bit complicated for a moment, and she lost some confidence. But since she was already here, she couldn't leave without saying it. She had to brace herself and speak.
"I think we can open another fruit shop..."
"Okay, go ahead," Dexter agreed flatly.
There was no reason not to agree. It was just a fruit shop; it wouldn't cost much money. Whatever.
Svetlana was slightly surprised, then smiled. "Thank you."
"You're welcome," Dexter stood up. "Stay for lunch. You haven't been here in a long time."
"Okay," Svetlana indeed missed the food here and agreed.
Dexter left, ducking into the kitchen to get busy.

The Gallagher House.
After a simple lunch, Fiona, in a very good mood, held Liam and walked out the back door with Jimmy, heading toward the house Jimmy had rented.
After experiencing so much, Fiona found that she was actually really looking forward to living with Jimmy.
