Chapter 29 - CHAPTER 29: Wrong Timing

March 7, 1502

West Blue

Ohara

Raeven, Mihawk, and Enel arrived at the island just now, and everyone here is having a peaceful time; they don't know that a Buster Call is already heading for them.

On the way to the Tree of Wisdom, Raeven saw a girl being bullied by the other locals here; he hurriedly stopped the two beside him, as he could feel their conqueror's haki preparing to burst out.

Knocking out these kids is being too nice for them. Raeven walked towards them directly; he shielded Robin from the rocks, and when the kids saw him, they mocked him, saying that he was protecting a monster, so Raeven did what every adult would do.

He slapped the kids one by one. He controlled his strength so perfectly that every slap didn't kill anyone, but all of their teeth are gone. When Raeven is done, all of the kids are groaning on the ground with blood on their mouths.

"Thank you, Big Brother, for helping me," the eight-year-old Nico Robin said.

"Big bro, how about I turn these kids into ashes? Bullying a girl is too much," Enel said, his hands crackling with electricity.

"We should wait for their parents here, letting them bully and throw rocks at someone like this. This island is heading backwards in terms of parental education," Mihawk said.

Robin was shocked; this is the first time she saw someone other than the scholars who treated her this warmly, but when she looked closer at the two individuals in front of her, she was surprised again.

"You are Big Brother Raeven, a scholar like me too, right? I know you; Professor Clover told me that you once lived here too," Robin said.

"I did; I learned to read the ancient scripts to learn the farming techniques of the past," Raeven said.

"Come with me; as a scholar of Ohara, you should learn about this news too," Raeven said, and with that, he carried Robin on his arms, and they headed towards the library.

When they reached the library, Clover was already there, still admiring his research that had been completed. He finally found the name of the ancient kingdom. He was too happy, and he wanted to share it with the world, but he didn't know that the world government had captured the other scholars who explored outside. They tortured them till they died, and the only survivor right now is Nico Olivia, and the Buster Call will arrive tomorrow.

When Clover saw Mihawk and Raeven, she was shocked, but then she happily welcomed them back, but the news Raeven said destroyed her happiness.

"Impossible, the world government won't do something like that; we just studied the past, that's all," Clover said. He didn't believe that the world government would launch a Buster Call on Ohara. Raeven didn't mind him; he just headed inside the library and summoned the Ninja Khans to quickly store every kind of book they could.

Later that afternoon Saul washed up on the shore of Ohara, and he hurriedly searched for Clover. At the same time, Nico Olivia arrived at the island too. With her last strength, she told Clover that the world government learned of their research about poneglyphs, and the five elders are determined to kill everyone here and to erase this island. When Clover heard this, he partially believed it, but he still believed that if he talked to the elders about their discovery, everything would be okay.

With her last strength, Olivia hugged Robin; sadly, Raeven and the others are currently busy storing the books, so they are not there to prevent it.

It took them 18 hours straight to store every book inside the storage ring and inside the castle. When they headed outside, Clover was already there waiting for them.

"Raeven-kun, I need your help. Please help them reach the other islands safely; the others will stay here with me," Clover said. Only 3 scholars are made to escape alongside Robin.

"Hey Robin, where's your mom?" Raeven asked. Olivia was supposed to be here talking to Clover at this time.

"Big brother Raeven, she died yesterday because of fatigue. After saying something about the incoming buster call, she hugged me, and then she died," Robin said as she started to cry. Raeven just hugged her; in a while, she fell asleep.

The 3 scholars who went with Raeven are called Hack, Roche, and Bomb. Raeven had seen the two before, but the other one he didn't know.

As Clover asked, Raeven helped them to get out of Ohara; he even called Shakky and asked if she could get Dragon's number, and after a few minutes, Shakky gave the number to him. With just a few rings, the call was answered.

"Monkey D. Dragon, this is Dracule Raeven. I have rescued 3 archeologists from Ohara, and they are on this island, here at West Blue. Contact your men and get them; I'll wait for you guys," Raeven said as he quickly ended the call, and in just a few minutes a small ship arrived disguised as a fishing vessel.

The three archeologists boarded the ship, and they left Robin to Raeven, which he agreed to; after that, the three of them entered Castle and headed back towards Ohara.

When the brothers returned, Ohara was already burning and the giant tree had already fallen; the archeologist that chose to remain on the island had already died. When Raeven saw this, his mood turned bad, and he quickly entered inside the castle; then Mihawk and Enel entered too.

"Professor Clover and those scholars are too stubborn; they became stupid. Strife, let's go back to Sixis," Raeven said.

Mihawk and Enel said nothing; if their brother's mood is like this, they will just shut up and avoid him till his mood turns better. Making him angrier now will be a disaster.

The news of Ohara's destruction was in the headlines; currently only 3 survivors are suspected to have successfully fled the island. The world government branded them as criminals, and they were given a bounty of 100 million each.

Luckily nobody knows about Robin, so she didn't get a bounty, which is good. After they arrived at Sixis Island, the library was moved from the 10th floor to the 5th floor to accommodate all of the books, and Robin was given the 12th floor as her room.

When Robin woke up, she was shocked at her new environment. After she calmed down, Raeven told her what happened and gave her the newspaper to see what remains the Oharas left.

Then Raeven asked her if she wants to go to the freedom fighter too, but Robin declined. She said that she wants to stay here. Robin can feel it; if she leaves here, her life will end up in trouble, and she's not wrong. Currently, the Revolutionary Army are just called the freedom fighters; they don't even have a permanent base.

When he chose to stay, Raeven just nodded and told her to rest and keep her identity secret for now, which she nodded to. After eating, Robin returned to her room to sleep.

The destruction of Ohara seems like the start of something, as another world-shaking event happened: Golden Lion Shiki chopped off his feet, and he managed to escape Impel Down, making him the first ever to escape the underwater prison.

After that, former Marine Soldier Monkey D. Dragon founded the Revolutionary Army. Together with his trusted colleagues, they began liberating kingdoms in the South Blue, and the world government gave him a bounty of 1.2 billion belis.

Sixis Island, as usual, is peaceful, and with Mihawk continuing his journey in the New World, Raeven, as usual, is doing his best to farm, as his mood is still a little sour about what happened.

Suddenly, as he was busy watering his plants, Enel appeared near him.

"Brother, a flying island is approaching us, and it's fast; it came from the calm belt," Enel said. When Raeven heard that, he smiled.

"Let's go and greet our visitor. If he's here to visit, then all is good. If he has another agenda here, then hehe, he'll be a perfect way to let out some frustration," Raeven said as he and Enel arrived at the shore of the island.

A few minutes later, a man flying in the sky arrived with an island flying behind him; he has long golden hair, a rudder on his head, and his legs are made of two swords.

"Shihahahahha! Dracule Raeven, I've come to recruit you, brat. Come and join me, be my right-hand man, and then let's conquer this world," he said.

"Sorry, Mr. Golden Lion, but I have a family, and I'm a farmer. Also, the idea of following a loser doesn't have any appeal," Raeven said.

"What did you say, brat? I came here because Roger told me before that there's a brat powerhouse here, but as I see it, you're not that strong," Shiki said.

"If you're not going to join them, you can die here along with everyone on this island," Shiki said as the island behind him fell from the sky.

Raeven remained calm; he summoned his scythe and gripped it with both hands. He began to cover it with his Conqueror's Haki and Armament Haki. The scythe began to hum, and Shiki felt it. He looked at the young man, and he felt fear. He tried to fly out, but his body wouldn't move.

"Don't try to move. You see, you came here at the wrong time. The you from God Valley might have a chance to play with me, but you right now?"

Raeven slashed out using his scythe; a massive flying slash the size of an island passed through to Shiki, slicing him into two. It headed straight to the falling island, turning it into dust.

As Shiki fell from the sky, his mind was still playing that attack, the overwhelming Conqueror's Haki that pinned him down, and the attack that sliced him into two. This is the first and the last time he will see something like that; it is too late to regret that he died just like that.

"Going here to provoke me while I'm pissed is too stupid. You're this weak, and you came here? Why do you think they call me Shinigami?" Raeven said as he walked forward to the dead body of Shiki. He took out his devil fruit extractor, which looked like a big syringe, and he stabbed it into Shiki.

A few seconds later a yellow pear with smooth wind-like edges appeared on the handle of the syringe.

This surprised Enel, but he didn't ask; just like Mihawk, if his brother can do it, it's only normal.

"This is a devil fruit extractor; sadly, we can only use it 4 more times," Raeven said as he grabbed the Float Fruit. With this, their future in the sky is secured, but he didn't eat it; he'll wait. If no one suitable for this fruit joins his family, then he'll eat it.
