Chapter 10 - Chapter 10- Of cages and consciousness

The door bell pierced the silence and the light silver rays penetrated through the window. Asher puts his glasses aside, shaking Cindery with his hand on her thigh.

"Won't you check who's at door?" She shook his hand off with a grunt.

"Don't you have legs to check on your own?" She muttered shaking off his hand with a grunt.

Xavier eyed their interaction with a shy smile, nudging Kendall with his pen. Asher moved forward towards the door cursing her stubbornness under his breath.

"Hello" Ana Sherlock said, as the door uncovered her face. Meanwhile Alex looked around.

"Brother, where's Cindery? Or I should say... Abela?" Her voice echoed through the corridor to her ears. She ran all the way to door.

"Now your feet are moving faster than a racing car. Just to meet her?" He taunted. She ignored and embraced her.

"It's been so long since I last saw you. What should I say Ana or Sophie?"

"You forgot me. Didn't you?" Added Kendall, sharing a hug.

"So, since we are together now. How about we have a drink?" Suggested Ana.

"Forget it. Let's have our drinks together. They won't bother to look at us," Sighed Alex, sympathizing with his brother.

"You sigh; Kendall would be coming back to me. After all, she's engaged to me,"

"Never dare to do this! I bet she could leave you just like that for her baby girls." Asher advised.

Their silent night turned into chaos with Loud sound, disco lights and booze breath filling the air with spark.

"May we be together forever!" All shouted rumbling along the floor.

"That brat Ana! She swindled me with money." Andras smashed his fist against the wall, regretting.

"You underestimated her. What's that with me? And yet you're here tipsy. I'd be chuffed if you don't bet in future," his wife thundered.

"Harley, I apologize." He sobbed over the spilled milk.

"Did you find Cindery whereabouts?"

"I've had someone investigate. And... our puppets in the Zak cooperation, they seem to be stressed nowadays. I think there's something wrong. I need to meet them... Very soon."

"Okay, and I'll try my best to make her sign transfer papers? Due to that Jave heir, she's been on cloud nine nowadays. It's time for her to fall back in her cage..."

The silence lies, the eyes holds the spark. The moment life was hell to me, you made it calm. I used to like you but not anymore. I don't know what it is to you before I utter a word. Your looks, your smile and you yourself have no idea what you do to me. Although I don't seem to like you anymore, it perhaps is love. Of particular concern is the extent to which you exacerbate my heart rate. My mind has yet not lost consciousness because you're a life to me. And... Life starts from consciousness and ends on losing it. I hope tomorrow I'll again be with you.

Love you more each day by day,

With all I have,

Asher.

The pen stopped the moment she entered.

" I thought Cindery's here," Asked Ana.

"Ugh! She's in kitchen,"

She went closer and grabbed a chair to sit in front of him.

"You still haven't confessed, have you? How long are you going to wait until she gets married to someone else. You're brother is even more bold than you; at least he made sure that I know what he feels. And I'm very sure that he'll propose. See, I know she'll, at the end of the day, coming to you. Shouldn't you step forward? How long are you going to be the lover who wants her but never makes a move."

"I-," She stopped his from arguing.

"See I know about you and simultaneously I know about her. See if you don't want to lose her, push yourself through it. The only thing I would say is take your time but not too much that you regret"

She stood up and came out. Cindery from aside heard all.

Asher laid down on his bed, reckoning and replaying his sister's thoughts.
