Before Naruto could move, Kakashi put a hand in front of the genin.
"Well, well, if it isn't the demon of the mist, Momochi Zabuza."
Kakashi shot a glare at Naruto and Sasuke, warning them not to engage the man. So the two boys slowly backed up towards their charge, Tazuna. Kakashi himself looked back at the missing nin with a glare that was meant to show he was not thrilled.
Zabuza spoke, "It appears you are Sharingan no Kakashi… I am sorry, but you will give the old man over."
Sasuke's face scowled in confusion, and he looked at Kakashi. Kakashi's hand went to his headband as he internally thought that he would need said Sharingan.
Zabuza spoke, "It seems you won't hand him over. Fine, I'll get him, but first I'll kill you, Kakashi."
Kakashi kept quiet and scanned his surroundings as a heavy chakra laden mist surrounded them.
Zabuza said, "8 choices. liver, lungs, spine, clavicle vein, neck vein, brain, kidneys, and heart…which one do I go after?"
Naruto's face seemed to sharpen.
This was a situation that would require his utmost attention to detail. This wasn't Mizuki if that situation had caused Iruka's death. There was a very real possibility that this one could take Kakashi-sensei's. He motioned to Sasuke to slowly back up and leave the one clone he'd kept near the fight.
Sasuke barely saw Naruto's motion. He was focused on the two jonin; their killing intent was massive. He could feel his throat closing up consciously; he felt it would be better to die than continue. However, before he could move his kunai to do so, Kakashi turned around.
"Sasuke, Naruto, don't worry. I'll protect you guys…" Kakashi smiled, "...Even if I die, I don't let my comrades die."
"We'll see about that!"
Naruto moved before his mind even realized, pushing Tazuna away as he hit the floor. He looked up to see Kakashi cutting into the missing ninja. Naruto looked in amazement as water dripped out of the wound and the clone popped.
Kakashi heard a blade whipping towards him. He tried to move, but the blade cut him in half, yielding a spout of water. Naruto took note of Zabuza's surprise and the slight pause the use of his jutsu gave the man. Then Kakashi appeared behind the man, with a kunai to his neck.
Zabuza spoke, "It's not over, I too.."
Another Zabuza finished the sentence, "..am not that easy."
Kakashi's eyes widened, and he cut the water clone down before ducking under a kick from Zabuza. The massive sword came towards Kakash,i but he managed to dodge it and let the next kick hit him towards the water. Kakashi landed in the water, but quickly realized it was harder to get out of than expected.
Zabuza appeared behind Kakashi and, flashing through hand signs, he whispered.

A sphere of water enveloped Kakashi, and the man internally cursed. Zabuza wasted no time; he formed a single water clone and sent it towards the genin.
However, at this point, they'd retreated a lot farther than Zabuza had expected, and his smirk fell off his face. Except for one, a single genin, one who'd stolen the gloves of demon brothers.
Zabuza grinned, "Look at you, a sacrificial lamb!"
The Naruto clone grinned and ran towards the water. Zabuza's eyes widened as the kid's hand slipped out of the gauntlet and he tossed it towards him. Zabuza grimaced and hoped that the gauntlet would simply miss. As it got closer, Zabuza simply caught it with his arm. Naruto's clone grinned and used the momentum to fly towards the other side of Zabuza.
The Chain wrapped around Zabuza's neck, and before Zabuza could even reach for it. Naruto yanked on it, taking the man's concentration right off the jutsu.
The water prison sank back into the lake, and Naruto's clone landed in the water. Zabuza's head was yanked down with the genin, and Zabuza was forced to use a substitution with the water clone he'd brought to kill said genin.
The clone died somewhere underwater, and Naruto's clone simply floated above and eventually swam to shore. Kakashi and Zabuza fought. Kakashi's Sharingan copied Zabuza's every movement, annoying the enemy ninja. Eventually, Kakashi moved so fast, he outpaced the enemy ninja, performing the final jutsu of the battle.
[Water Style: Great Waterfall Jutsu]
A massive amount of the lake water rushed away from the lake towards Zabuza. The water was so powerful, it carved new land and knocked Zabuza into a tree.
Zabuza turned upwards as he saw Kakashi land on a tree branch above him. Kakashi's grin grew so wide it was visible through his mask…
