Before I could respond to his cursing,he grabbed me by the collar of my shirt"How dare you William,how dare you come for what's mine"he yelled at the top of his voice.
"What's yours,you must be joking Dad,you seem to forget that a tiger can never lose its stripes,that dude over there is a whore, it's sad that you're too stupid to realize" I spoke very freely,damn the consequences.
He raised his hand in a bid to slap me"How dare you William?,if you say one more word I'm going to_"
"Or you're going to do what dad?Hit me like you always do whenever I catch you sleeping with mom?"
"Ohh dear boy,what I'm going to do to you is far worse than a slap,this is the last time I'm going to warn,stir clear of my business or you're going to regret it" he threatened.
"You don't scare me anymore Dad" I pushed him aside.
Bob lay on the bed helpless,I could see him trying to speak out with every breath but words failed him.
I felt pity for him. What could have happened?He was perfectly fine when I saw him yesterday.
My Dad stood looking at me with disdain as I observed Bob,if only he knew what he got himself into,I can only but pity him.
I left and went back to the house to avoid more drama.
"And where have you been?" Mom was sitting in the living room , definitely drunk when I entered the house.
"I don't have the time for this Helen, focus on your liquor" I tried to brush her off but she rushed to where I was standing and held me back.
"To the hospital I guess?To see that boy that was here yesterday?Tell me,who is he?Does your father have a child with another woman?" Tears were forming in her eyes,was she still in love with Dad?
"Mom!,get yourself together,it's not what you think,...I brought you here to get what is rightly yours, which is this house,get it and fuck up and stop drooling over a man that couldn't care less about you" I pushed her aside and made my way to room.
I could still here scream from behind,"I'll find out who William is,you know I will".
I barely sat down in my room when Ruth walked in ,"you see what I'm talking about?That mother of yours is drunk in the middle of the day and had been cursing all the staff since morning and in front of the kids.
"Can you quite the nagging Ruth?,this is not the time nor the place"
"Ohh really,if she does not leave today,i'm taking my kids back to London by dawn"
"There won't be need for that Ruth,I already made plans for us,we leave tomorrow" My mission here was done,there was no need staying here and watching the lovey dovey between dad and Bob, I got mom to come claim Dad's family house,it was sure going to break him,but this was just the start of what I have planned for him.
"Really?,what changed your mind?You were all about a family reunion" she sat beside me , staring with concern written all over her face.
"I'm alright Ruth,I just have business to get to in London, just get the kids ready"
"Alright then, anything to get away from that woman" she got up and made her way downstairs .
My head was hurting seriously, I'm tired,tired of always being in my dad's shadow,to always getting his leftovers,I want something of my own, something that I truly want and I don't care if I have to take him down to get it.
And I know just the person to call to kick start my first plan.
"Hey Lawrence"
"Hey dude,why are you calling me?Aren't you enjoying your family vacation in Spain cause I'm enjoying mine for sure" he teased.
"I ain't got time for this,I called because I'm ready to take your advice _"
"Which one William, cause I'm I have onloaded plenty in you"
"Would you just cut it Lawrence,... I'm talking about the firm,it's time for us to form our own firm,the clients trust us and virtually all the partners are loyal to us. I'm tired of being my father's lapdog".
"Ohh I see, finally,the fattest bone ain't enough for the patient dog anymore?" He asked mockingly.
"Can you stop being Lawrence for once, for just one minute?"
"Fiiine"I could imagine him rolling his eyes like he always does,we have been friends since Harvard law school.
"So I'm going to help you William,I have no choice because I'm stuck with you even though you left me to marry that bitch you called a wife,when are you flying back to London?"
"Tomorrow morning "
"Fine let's talk when you're back,i fly back in tonight,thanks to you"

I knew I could count on him,we did have a thing during law school,but it was more like just a stroke between friends,no feelings attached.

My message notification rang,it was a message from Bob,"Hey let's see" .
What could he want by this time of the night? It was almost midnight.I looked to Grace who was sleeping soundly by my side, slowly I got up from the bed, changed, luckily i met a less interested night guard,he opened the gate without any questions and I drove to the hospital.
I got to the hospital room to find him sitting up in a pool of tears.
"What the fuck Bob,what happened to you,did my father hit you"
"No,not at all ,it's far from that" he sobbed
"What is it then?, you're making me really anxious right now".
"It's about you,I think your life might be in great danger"
