Chapter 60 - Chapter 60 – Is This Guy Really a Medical Ninja?

In the ninja world, medical ninjas were generally considered weak in combat. Their strength lay in healing and support, not in taking down opponents. This common perception often made them targets for opportunistic attacks. Qingshui, however, was about to prove that such assumptions were not only outdated—they were dangerously wrong.

Several ninja teams, having observed Qingshui's consistent presence as a healer during the second exam, began to mark him as prey. After all, if they couldn't rob or overpower other ninja teams, surely taking down a mere medical ninja would be easy, right? They were about to find out just how mistaken they were.

It wasn't just one or two people who harbored these thoughts. A disturbing number of ninja squads quietly conspired to attack Qingshui. They had waited patiently, planning their approach, confident that eliminating him would be simple.

The night passed without incident. The Forest of Death was eerily quiet, its thick canopy muffling even the smallest sounds. But with the first rays of morning sunlight filtering through the dense trees, the ninja teams who had singled out Qingshui began to move.

They didn't need to search far. Qingshui, confident and unconcerned, had no intention of hiding his location. From the very beginning, he had treated his surroundings as a stage for his work, and his transparency would soon become his enemy—or so they thought.

"He's here! I found him!"

A male Hidden Rain ninja announced his discovery, quickly alerting his teammates. Immediately, two more ninjas—a male and a female—emerged from the shadows, moving to flank Qingshui and surround him completely.

"Are you the medical ninja who's been treating everyone?" the lead ninja asked arrogantly, his voice carrying the disdain he felt for their target. "If you know what's good for you, hand over the scroll. Since you're a Leaf ninja, maybe we'll let you walk away afterward."

The three Hidden Rain ninjas exuded arrogance, acting as though Qingshui were beneath their notice. In their eyes, he was just a medical ninja—a healer, not a fighter. Their only hesitation stemmed from his affiliation with Konoha. They had heard of the Leaf Village's reputation, and although they were somewhat wary, they didn't anticipate the storm they were about to face.

Qingshui, on the other hand, found their words mildly amusing. Here he was, a ninja merely trying to obtain rewards from the System, and yet they were treating him like some insignificant target. His smile, faint but confident, unsettled them further. They couldn't gauge whether he was frightened—or if he simply didn't care.

"Hand over the scroll obediently. You're just a medical ninja. You don't actually think you can escape from us, do you?" the lead ninja sneered.

Qingshui's response was calm, almost casual. "Have you ever considered something? Since I dare to treat people everywhere, why would I carry the scroll with me?"

The three Hidden Rain ninjas had indeed considered that possibility. Even so, they had decided that seizing Qingshui first, whether the scroll was on him or not, was the safer course of action. If they failed, they could always capture him as a hostage and exchange him for the scroll from his teammates. The rules were clear: for the second exam, an entire team had to reach the central tower together. They were certain his teammates would not have abandoned the scroll.

"Then we'll just capture you first and take it from there," the lead ninja growled.

Before his words had even faded, he charged at Qingshui with a confident roar.

Bang!

The next instant left the two accompanying Hidden Rain ninjas frozen in shock. Their leader had been knocked unconscious by a single, precise strike from Qingshui! They hadn't even fully registered what had happened before Tianyu, their captain, collapsed to the ground.

"How is this possible? A medical ninja… he can't be this strong!" one of them stammered.

"Hey, Tianyu! What are you doing? Wake up!"

No response came. Their captain lay motionless, and panic began to set in.

The remaining two Hidden Rain ninjas quickly realized that they had underestimated their target. They no longer spoke with arrogance; fear replaced their overconfidence. They performed their hand signs simultaneously, unleashing their most powerful techniques.

"Water Style: Black Rain Technique!"

Black oil fell like heavy rain, covering Qingshui.

"Fire Style: Flying Fire!"

A small flame streaked toward him, igniting the oil and creating a burst of searing flames.

At first glance, it seemed they had successfully landed a combination attack on their opponent. Relief flashed across their faces.

"I knew he was just a medical ninja. How strong could he be?" one muttered.

"Tianyu is so embarrassing. Taken down by a single blow from a healer… maybe we need a new captain," the other agreed.

But before they could celebrate, a calm, composed voice spoke from behind them:

"That was an excellent Ninjutsu combination."

The smug expressions froze instantly. Qingshui had appeared behind them without a sound, as though he had been there the entire time. The flames and oil had struck only a shadow clone. The real Qingshui remained unscathed.

"Die!" the two hidden rain ninjas shouted, lunging simultaneously with their kunai.

Bang! Bang!

Yet despite their desperate attacks, they were no match for him. Each movement was countered effortlessly. In moments, they found themselves immobilized, staring in disbelief.

As consciousness slipped away, both realized the impossible truth: Is this guy really just a medical ninja?

Qingshui surveyed the three ninjas he had just incapacitated. A brief, mischievous thought crossed his mind: he could capture them and repeat the cycle of "injure first, then heal," maximizing his rewards from the System. But reason prevailed.

These were not fellow Leaf ninjas; however, the Forest of Death was heavily monitored by hidden cameras. Any abuse of power could be reported directly to Hiruzen Sarutobi. The potential consequences outweighed the temptation. He would not risk unnecessary trouble.

After treating the three Hidden Rain ninjas, Qingshui received three white orbs from the System, boosting his chakra by ninety points.

The encounters did not end there. Throughout the day, Qingshui faced similar attacks from other ninja teams who had hoped to exploit his presumed weakness. Each time, he responded in the same efficient manner: a precise strike followed by healing.

Every confrontation added to his reputation and, correspondingly, to his rewards. By the end of the day, he had gained over four hundred chakra points—a sum far surpassing what he could earn in an entire day at the hospital.

Interestingly, after several incidents, Qingshui noticed a change. Word of his true strength had spread. Ninjas who might have once seen him as prey now avoided him entirely, slipping away silently before engaging. The Forest of Death had its fair share of observers and informants, and the legend of Qingshui, the "medical ninja with immense strength," had grown.

Some initially refused to believe it. A medical ninja strong enough to defeat multiple skilled opponents in a single day? Impossible!

But those who doubted had already learned their lesson the hard way. The reality, absurd as it seemed, was undeniable.

Despite the fear and awe surrounding him, Qingshui maintained his gentle demeanor. His expression remained innocent as he defended himself, almost apologetically.

"You've all misunderstood," he said quietly, shaking his head. "I'm just an ordinary medical ninja."

The surrounding ninjas, having long accepted the truth, simply muttered in unison, their disbelief replaced by resigned acceptance:

"We believe your ghost, Qingshui."

Even in the dangerous, competitive world of the Forest of Death, one thing became clear: underestimating a true medical ninja could be fatal. And Qingshui, though humble, had made a permanent mark on every ninja who had dared to oppose him.

By the day's end, the Forest of Death was quieter than before. His presence alone had shifted the behavior of every ninja in the area. No one attempted to attack him further. Qingshui had not only secured significant rewards from the System but had also ensured his own safety, turning what could have been a perilous ordeal into a strategic advantage.

And thus, Qingshui's reputation as a medical ninja—and as a force to be reckoned with—was solidified, one strike and one healing at a time.
