Chapter 38: Dinner (and explanation)
Jay's POV
When Keifer walked into the restaurant, my heart was already doing backflips, cartwheels... Basically a whole gymnastics routine... I have how he can still have this much affect on me...
Then he spotted me and came to the table.
Keifer: good evening my lady
Jay: good evening Mr. Watson
I said as I stood up and shook hands with him... Huh!.. he didn't try anything like last time...
Keifer: so... Are you ready to listen?
Jay: I don't know
Keifer: okay... Then let's talk about it slowly... Just little parts of the past... I don't want to overwhelm you...
Jay: okay...
I said, trying to stay as calm as possible.
Keifer: Jay... Are you willing to listen?
Jay: let's just get this over with...
Keifer: so... You remeber when I didn't let you explain and missed school?
Jay: yes...
Keifer: I wasn't angry... I wanted to meet You before you move... But I couldn't...
Jay: why? Keifer why?
I said already almost crying.
Keifer: I didn't go to school cuz my little brother had a fever and couldn't stay home alone... I had to take care of him...
His explanation warmed my heart... He cared about me, but he had to choose his family...
Then the waiter came... The waiter kind of looked like a model... He had broad shoulders, mascular build... His nametag read Philip
Philip: good evening folks... My name is Philip and I will be the one serving you tonight
As he intruduced himself Keifer was already glaring.
Philip: can I get started with anything for you? Drinks? Apetisers?
Keifer: lady's first
Jay: okay... Can I get a diet coke?
Keifer: same here.
Philip: got it... I will be here in a minuite... Here are our menus
He said as he handed out the menus to Keifer and me.
Keifer: what do you want to eat?
Jay: I don't know yet... You?
Keifer: I thing I'm gonna go with the medium rare steak... Anything intresting on the menu?
Jay: I think the Caesar salad will do for me...
Keifer: are you vegetarian?
Jay: no... Why?
Keifer: then order some meat with it... They have chicken breast as one of the sides...
Jay: good idea... It's wierd that they put the meat as the side dish not the salad....
Keifer: yeah...
Then Philip came back to take our orders
