It felt so, comfortable, relaxing, and he didn't want his consciousness to bring him back to awareness.
Ray opened his eyes...
His sleep felt so refreshing, even his body seemed reluctant to get up from the bed and just wanted to stay stuck to it.
He then sat on the edge of the bed and rubbed his eyes—Ray glanced at the wall clock and it showed 4:37, he woke up very early.
"I woke up so early... While the guard yesterday said I had to come to a room at 7.00," he then stood up from the bed and yawned.
Ray then remembered his attributes, he hadn't sorted out which circulation belonged to him since arriving at the bunker. He then used Skill [Summon] and summoned The Weaver.
The spider creature appeared as usual without any changes—Ray then deactivated the creature and went out of the room.
He went to the bathroom to take a shower, went to the kitchen for breakfast, and then went back to the room and opened the three previous suitcases which only contained military uniforms.
"The uniform to wear for today... Oh, this one?" he said while taking a set of grayish-white uniform, the color was so bright and looked pure.
Ray quickly wore it and it fit him so well—he looked in the mirror to see himself and fixed his collar a bit that was stuck.
He then took the hair oil he used before, applied it to his hair—messily ruffled it, then combed it.
"Come to think of it, I look really handsome too when I'm dressed clean and cool like this," he said with full confidence—and strangely he became shy afterwards.
He looked at the wall clock and it was only 5:11. Ray then decided to go out of the dormitory and put on his shoes, he opened the door and went out—the atmosphere was still quiet and no one else was visible.
He continued to wander aimlessly because he still didn't fully know Asphares Military, he didn't even know where he was now. But when he entered a room, it was the library.
The library was huge, making Ray's jaw drop in amazement and his eyes sparkle. He stepped into the quiet library and looked around like a idiot.
He kept walking through the luxurious shelves.
"All these books are neatly arranged and separated by category," he thought with amazement.
His steps then stopped at one of the book shelves. The book shelf was labeled Biology category and about Living Beings' Mana, making Ray curious and interested.
Ray was drawn to a book titled Biology On The Mana Creatures. He took the book and skimmed through it, before eventually taking it with him.
He then circled around the other book shelves again—and a moment later he stopped at a shelf categorized Martial Art And Weapon Combat.
Ray took two books from the shelf. One book was titled 37 Martial Art Techniques, and the second one was titled Weapon Mastery.
Three books were with him now, he decided to leave the huge library and read these books.
"Hey, young troublemaker? Where are you going? Are you going to steal those books, huh?" said the librarian at a borrowing desk.
"Eh?"
***
"Sorry... I really didn't know that I had to sign for these books to borrow them," Ray said with an awkward laugh and scratched the back of his head.
"You act like you're living in ancient times, if I didn't sign it, anyone could just steal it anytime," said the female librarian with a sour expression on her face.
"Y-yes, I guess so," Ray laughed awkwardly again before finally leaving the library with the three books he borrowed.
As he stepped out, many other Slayer were now bustling about. Ray's face instantly became expressionless.
All eyes were on him, because he was from Fool City—no wonder they didn't like him, especially since he joined the largest military of Quixa City.
'Hey! That's the peasant from yesterday, isn't it?! The government's gone crazy, registering that idiot as a Slayer?!'
'But if you look closely, that peasant is actually quite handsome.'
'Snap out of it, idiot! Are you brain-dead or what?!'
Ray just sighed uncomfortably as he became the center of attention, he kept walking confusedly, searching for the room the guard mentioned yesterday.
He kept walking aimlessly and wasted a lot of time getting lost. Until finally, he saw a writing on a wall that the guard had mentioned last day... Ascendant Slayer.
Feeling that this was the right room, he immediately stepped inside. Sure enough, Seno and the girl from last night were already seated in their chairs.
The room was like a classroom, and there were about 30 people in the room—Ray then looked around and searched for an empty seat.
Seno then whispered softly and pointed to an empty desk and chair in the middle row, left side. "Hey, Ray! Sit there! That's your seat.
Ray then nodded softly and sat down in the empty chair, he also placed the three books he borrowed from the library on the desk.
He had just sat down in his seat. Ray felt the whole class staring at him, some looked at him with disgust and sharp gazes, others looked at him with curious stares.
Ray opened the book "Biology On The Mana Creatures" and started reading it, he kept trying to focus on the book, but the stares around him made him even more uncomfortable.
"Oh come on! I'm not the only one from Fool City! You guys could just as well stare at Seno and the girl from Fool City too!" he thought to himself.
But what bothered him the most was the stare of the golden-haired guy next to him—the stare wasn't disgusting or sharp, it was cold and flat.
***
Not long after, a girl entered the room; she had pure white hair, pale skin, glowing blue eyes, a beautiful face, and a slender, tall, and sexy figure.
To be honest, even though Ray thought the girl was pretty, he felt nothing, but when he saw Seno's expression, it seemed like the young man was really smitten at first sight and was amazed.
Meanwhile, the girl from Fool City just managed a bitter smile and seemed to dislike the beautiful girl.
The white-haired girl then sat down in her seat—the people who were initially staring at Ray were now all staring at her with amazed expressions.
"Looks like she's really popular, huh? Who is she?" Ray whispered to the golden-haired guy next to him.
"She's Marine Astrios," the guy replied briefly.
"Wait a minute? It's rare for a Quixa City guy like him to talk to me," he thought.
"Marine Astrios, huh... Sounds familiar, Astrios... W-wait?! She's the president's daughter?!" Ray whispered, looking back at the guy.
"Yeah," the guy replied briefly with a cold tone.
Ray just fell silent for a moment and glanced at the girl, but he soon let out a soft sigh and didn't care.
He then looked at the golden-haired guy again and thought for a moment, before speaking to him.
"Ah, by the way, how about we introduce ourselves? My name is-" the guy looked at Ray as he spoke, then interrupted him. "Is it important for me to get to know you?"
Ray was taken aback by the guy's sharp gaze and words. He thought maybe the guy didn't like him either because he was from Fool City.
"Ah, sorry... Never mind if you don't want to," he said with a slightly awkward laugh.
. . .
The atmosphere was very tense and awkward, but the golden-haired guy then sighed and started speaking.
"My name is Michaelis Julius."
Ray was a bit surprised and looked back at the guy, confused by the sudden mood swing. But he quickly smiled and started introducing himself to the guy as well.
"I'm Ray Arcelius, nice to meet you."
When Ray looked at Michael again, he was shocked by the girl sitting next to him. Her hair was a deep silver-gray color, and she was staring at Ray with a sharp gaze as if she wanted to kill him.
"Brother! Why do you want to be friends with that lowly peasant!" the girl said to Michael.
"Brother? They're siblings? But they don't look alike at all, damn," Ray thought.
"Shut up," Michael replied to the girl, his eyes closed as if he didn't care.
"Hmph!" The girl then pouted her cheek in annoyance at Michael, then she looked at Ray and her gaze became even more terrifying and menacing.
Seeing that, he was slightly startled and then looked away, focusing his gaze forward.
The atmosphere became awkward, silent, and stiff again. Ray, who had been silent all this time, returned to reading his book.

'Ring! Ring! Ring!'
Not long after the bell rang, someone entered the classroom—he was carrying a book and a laptop, and judging by his uniform, he seemed to be an instructor or a trainer for this class.
"Before we start today's lesson, we have 3 new Slayers joining us... New Slayers, please stand up introduce yourselves and yours class!" the instructor said firmly.
"Why are people from Quixa City always like that?! So sudden and no small talk... Not fun at all!" Ray thought, with a fun annoyed expression on his face.
Ray, Seno, and the girl from Fool City immediately stood up. Seno introduced himself first, looking nervous as all eyes were on him.
"I-i-introduce myself... M-m-my name is S-seno Contra... M-my Class is The Mage," Seno said, so nervous that he even bowed his head down and sit down.
'Hey? Is that true? That nerd is actually trembling like an idiot!'
'People from Fool City are all idiots haha!'
Everyone laughed at him... Except Marine, Michael, and the girl sitting next to Michael.
The girl then cleared her throat softly, drawing everyone's attention away from Seno and towards her.
"My name is Alice Auderia, my class is The Trickster," Alice said calmly, then sat back down with a relaxed air.
The Ascendant Slayers just stared, but they still shot the girl sharp and disgusted glances.
When it was Ray's turn, he was about to speak—but he paused for a moment, hearing the upper-class Slayer comments and gazing at them with a sharp stare.
'Come to think of it, this peasant is quite handsome.'
'Damn, he should've been born in a better place, living in Fool City with two Perks, he's still just a peasant.'
'Tch! A stupid peasant, how dare he act cool.'
Hearing that, Ray tried to stay focused and ignore them then slowly take a deep breath. He then smiled confidently and began to speak.
"Let me introduce myself..."
"My name is..."
"Ray Arcelius!"
. . .
