Chapter 18 - Soulforge

Author's note : I really don't know how to say this but I feel very bad. Till now I have been using AI to improve my literature and I thought that was the way it should be, I had not realised that using AI to improve my literature even though the story was mine was a bad idea and I am sure many of the veteran readers must have been really disappointed if they ever read my story but I give my word that from now all in the story that you see here will be purely from my mind alone except maybe the names of the characters but I ask you to stay with me and forgive me for this mistake (My literature is good but not to the level of mastery or even that great but it's good).

This chapter marks the start of the first arc of my story and I'll try to make it as intersting as possible so stay with me until the end.

If you guys have any suggestions which can help me, please comment and I'll see all of them.

"Soulforge? What is that?" Flester asked, his voice full of sincere curiosity and a hint of suppressed fury, gazing at Aira who sighed and raised her dark blue short sword. It was as big as from Aira's elbow to her fingertip which was not that long for a typical sword.

"This." Aira pointed at her sword "This is a soulforge, it is a very famous thing among nobles and royals." Flester's suspicions of Aira being some kind of hidden noble just grew more hearing her words but unfortunately he did not have any proof to accuse her of lying, not yet of course.

"Well so soulforge is a kind of a sword?" Night facepalmed hearing the answer of his latest student, if someone were to go a year back in time and say that his next student would not even know the soulforge he would have just laughed at them but sadly for the leader of the Ruby Pillars, his student was indeed that dumb.

Night sighed and walked beside Aira and glared at Flester, not even in his wildest nightmare would he expect such a student.

Sighing once again, he again looked at Flester and sighed again.

"In your way of thinking, Soulforge is an art of making a weapon and enchanting them."

"So, it's similar to Materialisation?"

"Yes and no, with Materialisation you can only make duplicate weapons of the real one, it is just but merely a copy unlike Steel type user's power to make weapons out of thin air which are real and not a copy, and Soulforge is making a real, complete and permanent weapon and later enchanting it. Every weapon is loyal to its master and that is a must."

Flester lingered for a moment taking in all this information, it made sense even if only a little.

"So the use of Soulforge is simply making a permanent weapon instead of a temporary and a slightly weaker one? And only to make it be wielded by only its master-that is a single person due to adding the loyalty enchantment?" Flester asked and once again both Aira and Night supressed their desire to choke the young teen in front of them.

"Wait for me to completely finish, young Flester-"

"Alright, I won't disturb you." Flester said cheerfully oblivious to the fact he was one step away from death, all while giving both Aira and Night a cheerful smile.

"What a brat." Night whispered and then cleared his throat.

"The enchantment depends on how strong the person's magic power is, the more powerful the more enchantments can be added to the weapon. And loyalty is not an enchantment given to it after the weapon is made."

Flester tilted his head to the sideways, his guess-no... According to him, the fact that the loyalty was an enchantment turned out to be false but how? It was a fact tot him.

"Loyalty is naturally forged into the weapon while being made and that's because of the materials from which the weapon is made, do you have any guess of what it might be?"

Flester was scratching his empty question in utter defeat, he had not eaten anything since morning except for the toothpaste which he unknowingly swallowed while brushing half asleep and that just made his stomach more miserable.

'I have never been this hungry.' He thought to himself crying internally, he had even killed magic beasts, removed their meat and cooked them and had a feast, they were even tasty. He even remembered having a hearty and delicious meat of a horse like beast he killed before fighting Kai and Raizen.

"I dont know, maybe meat?" The words slipped out before he could stop them and then realising it, he awkwardly smiled while Night and Aira shook their heads dejectedly.

"Umm, maybe they made them out of rare metals or some magic attracting ones?" Flester answered again after giving it a thought. Night smiled nodding "You are not a complete dimwit but you are still not completely right."

Flester ignored the insult thrown at him and asked "Then what do they use for that damned thing?"

"Its a very rare gem, its called the soul gem. It's used as an bridge between tools and a person's soul. The weapons ability also depends on the person since they are made using the magic and soul of the person, so in a way they are unique as well."

" And since the soul itself is used to make the weapon or tool, it is loyal to only their master."

Night looked at Flester who looked half baked with smoke erupting from his head, this information was a lot to take in for the teen but he soon composed himself to hear the rest of what his master had to say.

"At the starting, how many enchantment you can add to your weapon depends on how strong you were during the time your soul was used to make the weapon but after that, to increase the number of enchantments, you must feed it with magic-a very large amount of magic. And I guess that's all."

Flester was speechless for a while, the very possibility of going around with some kind of unique weapon for himself, obviously he liked the weapons he makes from Materialisation, not only were they limited to his magic capacity but he could shape them however he wanted but still the idea of having a weapon made only for him was just too much, but then he realised something, Aira's words at the beginning.

"Then why is it famous only among the Royal and Noble families?" Flester knew the answer but he just wanted to hear it from Night and be completely sure about his guess.

"It's easy to figure that, it's a secret among the nobles and royals, to not let commoners use it."

Flester eyes twitched as something dark appeared on his eyes but he easily suppressed it with a sigh and met Aira's gaze with a questioned look on his face.

"Then how do you have it?"

Aira scoffed, and pointed at their master proudly. "Even though I'm a commoner, having connections with strong people, I got it pretty easily."

'Pretty easily, huh' He repeated her words in his head then sighed. It's not like that old and strong bastard would give every commoner student of his a Soulforge.

'The only reason to give me a soulforge would be to make me open up to him'

Flester did trust the old man in front of him even though he did not look exactly old but still Flester still did not trust him so much as to let his guard down around him, after all the man had lived through multiple wars, battles and missions so teaching Flester could just end up being one of the man's elaborate plan for something dangerous.

Flester still did not know anything about Night, the only thing he knew was common knowledge except for the fact that he takes in commoners as his student and there was no use knowing that since he himself was that commoner taken under Night's wing.

"Well then, other things aside, let's go back to the main topic."

Flester growled internally. 'When am I gonna eat, you dumb rotting pillar.'

"Well, as I said before, we have no idea of where the beast received all these sudden power but like always the kingdoms did not make us wait long for information. Around a week ago, I received the power ranking of these enhanced beasts."

'Really? Differentiating the beasts in terms of power and ranks is information?'

"There are ten classes of these beasts from weakest to strongest."

Night looked at both Aira and Flester and started.

"The weakest class is the lesser class- the easiest to kill, no other information. The next is greater class-stronger than lesser class beasts and no other information, and the next is Hollow class, Wraith class, lord class, dread class, Ruin class, Abyss class, Eclipse class, Oblivion class."

'Literally some random rankings they created, we don't even know if whatever rank they put for the beasts would even be right.' However Flester did not have much time on his thoughts because Night was not done talking yet.

"From hollow class onwards to the Oblivion class-there are three ranks among them. Those are low, high and supreme."

"Low rank among the hollow means they can be managed and high rank means that they are stronger than the low rank and are completely Hollows or whichever class they are in and finally supreme means that they rival the stronger class monsters in strength."

Flester made a weird expression finding the whole thing stupid but decided to keep his mouth shut.

"For example, a supreme Hollow can face off against a low Dread class monsters and can also come out victorious. So supreme are stronger than some of the low class and sometimes even high class monsters from stronger classes."

Night finally let out a deep sigh finishing everything he wanted to say and instinctively turned towards Flester as if knowing he would ask a question-and it did not disappoint.

"If a supreme is stronger than some beasts of the stronger classes then why are they not recognized in stronger class. Like if supreme hollow can defeat low Ruin, why are they not considered as Ruin class beasts?"

"A logical question, as far as I know, each class has a separate ability unique to only their class, though I don't know what those are. Though I believe we'll know soon enough."

Flester nodded, satisfied with the answer, even if it was Night hiding something, it was not like Flester could extract information from this old man who was the kingdom's strongest mage.

Trying to do something like that is literally suicide.

Though, the orphaned bastard Flester still was positive that one day will come where he would find out everything about his master.

Shifting his focus to Aira sitting beside him, he could not help but think about how beautiful the girl beside him was. She was like an angel, still in her black battle cloth and there were still those silver patterns at their edges, she was the literal definition of beauty, the only one he knew who could rival her beauty was Fey herself who was also a beauty.

And then there was Flester, a roughish moody bastard with black hairs and black eyes and an almost pale skin and that criminal like face of his, he was the definition of creep and the constant dark angry look in is eyes did not help his creep personality.

Comparing Aira and Flester was like comparing the beauty of the moon itself to a cockroach, and Flester knew very well which one he was.

'Definitely the moonlight.' He thought trying to encourage himself, unable to think of himself as a cockroach any longer.

"Well then, you two take care of yourselves and Flester." Night turned towards his new student with a serious expression. "I will be leaving tomorrow evening and I want you to meet me alone in this clearing tomorrow morning, alone."

Flester nodded, not knowing why the old man had called him to this place, though Flester was surprised at the lack of questioning from Aira, Flester had expected her to question about why she was not allowed to accompany him but she did not ask anything.

'Now that I think back, she never asked even a single thing to Night.'

Thinking this, his gaze once again shifted to Aira who still looked like an angel but now that they both were alone in the clearing his eyes widened and an involuntary blush formed in his face.

'Crap, what the hell am I thinking?' Taking a deep breath, he once again looked at the angel beside him, he could not decide whether to be at awe for her beauty or be jealous at how genetically gifted she was compared to him who did not even know his parents.

'Is it even logical to compare your attractiveness to a girl' Flester sighed, either way even if he had to compare himself to a boy, he would still lose.

Then, the beautiful figure turned to him with a frown. Then began talking, her voice surprising rude and full of disdain.

"Let's go somewhere private, I have to ask you many questions."
