Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Boyfriend T-Shirt

"You're mainly too young right now. It would be quite difficult for you to join the CCG."

Ihei Byakuya said, "Normally, you have to first go through training at the CCG's 'Special Academy.' That requires two years of study, or you can enter the 'Ghoul Countermeasures Education Facility,' which takes one year to graduate."

The so-called "Special Academy," fully named the "Ghoul Investigator Training Academy," was established by the CCG to cultivate elite personnel. Because of this, it followed a two-year curriculum.

The "Ghoul Countermeasures Education Facility" was a place for training ordinary investigators. Most of its students came from orphanages, with some being problem children. In short, it was a one-year curriculum.

Due to the difference in curriculum length, the outcomes after graduation were naturally different.

People who graduated from the two-year elite training program entered the CCG starting as Rank 2 Investigators.

Those who graduated from the one-year ordinary training program started as Rank 3 Investigators.

Of course, there was one special exception: the Sunlit Garden.

The half-humans who came from the Sunlit Garden had long been raised to be cold, brutal killing machines.

Because of this, they did not need to attend the Academy or the Education Facility, but they still started as Rank 3 Investigators. Even Arima Kishou was no exception.

"It takes one or two years? Is there no faster method?"

Yoshimura Eto asked.

She clearly disliked how long the training programs were.

After all, with her true strength, she did not need any training at all.

"At the moment, there isn't. I'm just a Third-Class Investigator. Even if I wanted to pull strings for you, I don't have that authority."

Ihei Byakuya shook his head. "But if your performance at the Academy is outstanding enough, you can graduate early. That is, if you can actually pull it off."

Yoshimura Eto thought for a moment. "...I want to try."

"..."

Ihei Byakuya could not help sighing. Eto really did intend to join the CCG...

With a half-ghoul's physical capabilities, even without using Kagune, she would be a walking overwhelming power inside the CCG.

Half-humans usually had a physical level between humans and ghouls, but half-ghouls surpassed even pure-blooded ghouls. As for someone like Arima Kishou, he was an exception among exceptions.

As long as she did not use her Kagune, her Kakugan would not appear. So even if Yoshimura Eto entered the CCG, it wouldn't be easy for her to expose her identity.

At this moment, Ihei Byakuya couldn't help but feel concerned. Because of his influence, Yoshimura Eto had taken this step into a turning point in her life. It might cause a completely different future...

"All right. I'll take you to sign up tomorrow."

Ihei Byakuya said.

Since it had already come to this, he no longer intended to force Eto back to her original path.

Her original path was to write novels under the human pen name "Takatsuki Sen," while also founding the ghoul organization Aogiri Tree, early on, she practically supported the entire Aogiri Tree using only her manuscript fees.

Later, due to several incidents, Yoshimura Eto gradually became disappointed and hopeless toward the world, and her methods grew more and more extreme...

In other words, right now, at only 12 years old, Eto's personality should not have become that extreme yet.

At 12, she was indeed very mature, but that was compared to other children her age. Compared to her 14-year-old self, she was absolutely lacking, and compared to her future self, even more so.

The current Eto still had some childishness, and had only just entered human society. Ihei Byakuya suddenly felt that maybe there was still hope to save her...?

Of course, the word "save" might not be entirely appropriate, because the Yoshimura Eto in the original story already did everything within her power.

Although the process was often brutal and bloody, she ultimately succeeded in overthrowing the Washuu family's dark rule. Eto achieving that could certainly be considered a success.

But success did not erase the tragedy surrounding her.

A far better ending could have existed, just not in the original story.

But now that Byakuya, as a transmigrator, had arrived in this world, he naturally needed to reshape it with his own hands.

Otherwise, wouldn't his arrival be meaningless?

With the ability of the "Gura Gura no Mi," he firmly believed his strength would soon reach the peak of this world.

But if he were simply aiming to become the strongest, he found that incredibly boring.

For example, say he became the strongest. Then what? Rule Japan? Rule the entire world? He had no interest in that.

Though he wasn't like Whitebeard, wanting to gather a group of loyal sons, if he could change this world and avert all the tragedies he wished had never happened, then he certainly had to become strong enough to make that possible.

He felt this pursuit of power had true meaning...

...

Afterward, they bought all the daily necessities and the clothes she needed. Then Ihei Byakuya took Yoshimura Eto back home.

The first thing they did after returning was clean up the room.

Yoshimura Eto went to take a shower. Otherwise, being all dirty and wearing new clothes would only feel uncomfortable.

But Ihei Byakuya had forgotten one thing: he never bought Eto anything to wear after bathing, no pajamas.

Yoshimura Eto didn't say a word. Without hesitation, she grabbed one of Byakuya's white T-shirts and went into the bathroom.

Until...

Yoshimura Eto came out from the bathroom freshly washed, wearing a loose, oversized white T-shirt. For a moment, Ihei Byakuya was stunned and didn't react.

[Ding! The host has let Yoshimura Eto wear a Boyfriend T-Shirt. Reward gained: System Points 2!]

This system prompt jolted Ihei Byakuya back to his senses.

Boyfriend T-Shirt? What the hell?

That white T-shirt is actually mine?

Just as he realized this, he found himself confused again.

What does this mean?

"Eto... are you wearing my clothes?"

Ihei Byakuya couldn't help asking.

"Looks like it? It's kind of loose and too big, but there wasn't anything else to wear."

Yoshimura Eto tugged at the oversized white T-shirt with an indifferent expression.

Byakuya was about 1.8 meters tall. His T-shirt on a Yoshimura Eto who wasn't even 1.4 meters tall yet, one could imagine how poorly it fit.

The hem already reached halfway down her thighs, and the sleeves exposed only half her forearms. But at least it was wearable.

"All right... I seem to have forgotten to buy you pajamas..."

Only now did Ihei Byakuya recall what he had forgotten.

"No, wait..."

Byakuya suddenly thought of something. "Don't tell me..."

His gaze slowly moved downward. He had felt something was off from the beginning.

Because not only had he forgotten to buy pajamas, he had also forgotten to buy Yoshimura Eto underwear...
