Thirty miles north, deep inside the ice-choked walls of the Sub-zero Trench, the air rang with the deafening roar of continuous warfare.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The Eradicator Mk3 skidded backward across the solid ice, its heavy battle-axe digging deep into the frozen earth to arrest its momentum. Oil and blue thermal fluid leaked from a wide tear in its chest armor. Around it, the snow was stained purple and black with the blood of dozens of high-tier ruptures.
Beside Mk3, the last remaining Mk2 fell to its knees, its primary power core ruptured by a razor-sharp spine shot from the darkness. A massive, towering silhouette hovered over them through the blizzard the Rupture Queen. Her chitinous hide was scarred from railgun fire, but pulsing crimson energy veins were already knitting her cracked armor back together.
"My defeat is of no benefit to you, Queen of Ruptures," Eradicator Mk3 growled, synthetic voice cutting through the gale. "My creator will destroy you with her army."
An echoing, distorted voice reverberated directly inside Mk3's audio processors as the Queen opened her massive, multi-hinged maw. A concentrated ball of searing plasma formed at the back of her throat.
"You die. And then you will be my puppet."
"Negative," Mk3 crackled over his internal comms, optics flickering as his power levels dropped to a critical 12%. He raised his remaining heavy arm, aiming his battered plasma blade directly at her central eye.
The Queen unleashed the plasma blast.
Before the searing light could strike Mk3, the sky split wide open.
SKRRRRAAAAK!
A blinding bolt of lightning descended from the heavens, slamming directly into the plasma blast and detonating it mid-air in a blinding flash of blinding force.
THUMP.
A heavily armored titan smashed into the ice directly between Mk3 and the Queen, raising a massive tower shield that effortlessly absorbed the explosive shockwave.
PHOBOS.
"Mk3 secured," a sharp, precise voice echoed from high above. Piercing beams of starlight lanced down from the dark clouds, pinning the Queen's massive limbs to the ground.
ARTEMIS.
Then, the heavens tore open completely. A massive streak of raw electrical energy struck the center of the trench. The resulting shockwave scattered the surrounding rupture horde like dry leaves in a storm. Standing in the center of the smoking crater, arcs of purple lightning dancing across his colossal frame, was ZEUS.
"Apologies for the delay, Mk3," Loji's voice hummed softly from the ridge above as her digital form materialized beside the majestic figure of the Emperor.
The Emperor stepped off the edge of the cliff, dropping into the trench with an earth-shattering thud. He didn't even draw a weapon; he simply raised one heavy, armored hand toward the screeching Rupture Queen.
"Now, face the Final Eradication!" the Emperor declared, his violet optics flaring with absolute, terrifying power.
With a roar that shattered the surrounding ice walls, the Emperor unleashed his core, and the dark trench erupted into pure, unadulterated annihilation.
"Emperor..." Mk3 rasped.
A digital interface hummed, and Sage appeared near Mk3's battered head alongside Loji.
"Loji... So then, Mother has arrived?" Mk3 asked, his audio array straining.
"No, but Final Eradication has been activated," she replied crisply.
"I see... I require repairs."
"Understood," Loji said. A swirling spatial portal opened directly beneath Mk3, sinking his damaged frame into the depths before snapping shut to transport him to safety.
The Emperor turned his gaze back toward the battlefield, holding his staff behind him as ranks of Eradicators and Predators lined up at his back. "You will be my opponent."
"I will do everything to assist," Loji said, her projection flickering out as she vanished to manage the battlefield matrix.
"Have at it!" the Emperor roared, charging headlong toward the Rupture Queen.
The Queen retaliated instantly, firing a massive energy blast straight at him. But mid-stride, the world froze the Emperor activated his time stop, casually stepping out of the path of the beam. Aiming his staff at her exposed flank, he unleashed a counter-attack of raw energy, resuming the flow of time the second the bolt left his weapon.
BOOM!
The Emperor's blast struck the Rupture Queen dead-on, shattering her carapace.
"This will be easy," he declared, leaping high into the air.
Dozens of offensive drones materialized around him, raining down relentless fire upon the Queen. Shrieking in agony, the Queen called for reinforcements, but the incoming swarms were instantly cut off. The Emperor's army a wall of Eradicators and Predators swarmed forward, locking the horde in place and preventing a single creature from reaching their queen.
As the battle raged, the Emperor dominated the clash, violently driving the Rupture Queen back with every strike.
"This is over!"
Freezing time once more, the Emperor positioned himself directly above her, powering his staff to its absolute limit. Time resumed, and a catastrophic Calamity Blast tore through the air, completely obliterating the Rupture Queen's body into dust.
