Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: First Steps Into Eternity

Four complete Peak Supreme Grade unified cultivation techniques, he thought with satisfaction. Each one designed to fix the specific imbalances in their foundations. Dad's qi-heavy cultivation will balance with body and soul. Mom's life-attribute will properly integrate all three aspects. Caspian's explosive power will be contained and controlled. Seraphina's precision will be backed by a strong body and soul.

These techniques should take them all the way to Universal Realm if they practice diligently

He had four complete, personalized Peak Supreme Grade cultivation techniques, each one worth more than small galaxy, each one designed specifically for one person's physique, personality, and path.

[SPECIAL NOTE FROM SYSTEM]

Host continues to demonstrate exceptional character. Using power to elevate and protect family rather than hoarding benefits shows true strength. Additional rewards granted for moral excellence.

Runar smiled at the system's message. I'm not doing this for rewards. But I won't complain about them either.

He examined the Technique Imprinting Jades—beautiful crystals that could transfer complete technique knowledge directly into someone's mind, bringing them instantly to Perfection level mastery.

These are perfect. I can give the techniques to our parents without them needing decades to master them.

But timing was important. He'd need to find the right moment.

After Celestia and I finish our Pocket Universe training, he decided. When we're both stronger and can better protect them if anything goes wrong.

He stored everything in his system inventory and lay back on his bed.

Day one, and I've already created four Supreme Grade techniques. Not bad.

Now... tonight, the real training begins.

Evening - Family Dinner

Dinner was a warm, comfortable affair.

Lirien had prepared a feast—spirit beast meat marinated in cultivation herbs, qi-infused rice, vegetables grown in spiritual soil. Every dish would provide minor cultivation benefits.

"This is delicious, Aunt Lirien!" Celestia said enthusiastically.

"I'm glad you like it, dear. Eat up—you'll need energy for tomorrow's training."

Jake smiled at Runar and Celestia. "So, what's the training plan? Just the usual combat practice and cultivation guidance?"

"We'll start with basics," Runar said carefully. "Make sure Celestia's foundation is solid before pushing harder."

"Smart," Jake approved. "Too many young cultivators rush their advancement and damage their foundations."

"Exactly," Runar agreed, hiding his amusement. If only you knew how "solid" her foundation already is.

Celestia caught his eye and suppressed a giggle.

Lirien noticed. "You two seem excited. That's good! Training should be enjoyable."

"Oh, it will be," Celestia said, grinning. "I have a feeling this is going to be the most interesting two weeks of my life."

She had no idea how right she was.

After dinner, they helped clean up, then retired to their rooms early—ostensibly to rest before tomorrow's training.

Runar lay in his bed, meditating on laws, and also watching the clock.

9:30 PM.

10:00 PM.

10:30 PM.

He extended his spiritual sense. Jake and Lirien were asleep, their breathing steady and deep.

11:00 PM.

Time to begin.

Runar got up silently and walked to Celestia's guest room door. He didn't need to knock—she was already awake, sitting on her bed fully dressed, waiting.

He opened the door. She looked up, eyes bright with anticipation.

"Ready?" he whispered.

"So ready."

"Then let's go somewhere special."

He raised his hand, and space itself opened before them—a shimmering portal to the Pocket Universe, invisible to anyone who wasn't looking directly at it.

Celestia's eyes widened. "That's..."

"My personal training dimension. Time flows differently inside. One hour outside equals 11.4 years inside."

She processed this. "So we could train for years in a single night?"

"Exactly. But we need to be careful—we'll actually age. Physically and mentally. By the end of two weeks, we'll both be adults."

"I know. You explained the plan earlier." She stood. "I'm ready. Let's do this."

Runar took her hand—partially to guide her, partially to make sure she didn't get lost in the dimensional transition—and stepped through the portal.

The world shifted.

Inside the Pocket Universe

Celestia stumbled slightly as they emerged, then froze.

"This is..."

She was standing on a grassy hilltop overlooking an impossible vista. Mountains in the distance, forests stretching to the horizon, a river winding through valleys below. A sun hung in the sky. The air was thick with spiritual energy, so dense it was visible.

"An entire world," Runar said softly. "My Pocket Universe."

Celestia spun in a circle, taking it all in. "It's beautiful. And the qi—I've never felt anything like this. It's everywhere!"

"Ten million times denser than Telstra's richest cultivation sites. Just breathing here will enhance your cultivation."

"And how are we going to spend here?"

"Six minutes outside equals 13.8 months inside. We'll train here every night. Six minutes real time, over a year of subjective experience."

Celestia did the mental math. "Two weeks... that's 14 nights. 14 x 13 months..."

"Approximately 16 years total," Runar confirmed. "By the time we emerge after 2 weeks, you'll be twenty-one years old mentally and physically. I'll be..." He paused. "Well, I'll adjust my transformation to match. Sixteen or seventeen in appearance."

"Our parents are going to freak out," Celestia said.

"They'll notice us growing gradually every morning and we'll tell them it's physique awakening."

"Which is technically true. My physique is still evolving." She looked at him seriously. "Runar, are you sure about this? Sixteen years is a long time. We'll miss our entire childhood."

"We won't miss it," Runar said. "We'll live it. Just faster, and stronger. Look—"

He pointed to the valley below, where lights were visible. "There are human civilizations here. Villages, towns, cities. They are real, they were born with this universe. We can visit, interact, experience normal life during our breaks. We won't be isolated."

Celestia studied the distant lights, then nodded. "Okay. I trust you. So... where do we start?"

Runar gestured to a nearby structure—a training complex that had materialized when they arrived, courtesy of the Pocket Universe's adaptive features.

"First, let's establish a routine. Then we begin your real training. No more holding back. No more hiding. For the next sixteen years..."

He met her eyes.

"We're going to transform you into someone who can stand beside me at the peak of cultivation."

Celestia grinned fiercely. "Then let's get started."

They walked down the hill together, toward the training complex.

Above them, the sun shone down on a world where time moved at its own pace, where two children would become warriors, where sixteen years would pass in two weeks of real time.

The training had begun.
