"We are new," Celestia said carefully. "We still think from the perspective of those inside the story."
Aelome nodded slowly. "Yes. You would. Most newly ascended beings do. That feeling fades with time. Or it does not. Both outcomes are valid." He did not elaborate further on that point. Instead, he shifted the conversation. "Let me tell you what you are now, so you understand the shape of your existence going forward."
He settled into a more relaxed posture, the light around him dimming slightly as though he were making himself comfortable for a longer explanation.
"You have reached what appears to be the peak of existence. There is no known higher structural hierarchy above the Omniverse. No greater realm waiting above us. No final ascension that will carry you somewhere else. This is, as far as any of us can determine, the top."
Nyla blinked. "Just… the top?"
