Yulia's POV
The minute my lips crashed on his, I felt it. Trust me, I don't know what I felt, but I did anyway. Gosh, why do I sound so stupid!
"Oh, he smells so good!" I thought to myself as I perceived his cologne. He smells fresh, with a touch of a woody note. I can perceive patchouli and bergamot. Mmm, it's so intoxicating.
Without thinking twice and maybe straight, I deepened the kiss. I mean, you can't blame me when his lips felt so soft against mine.
But wait, he didn't kiss me back though. Probably still in shock. And he had this sweet minty taste in his mouth that I couldn't get enough of.
Right before I could live in the moment, I felt a strong push on my body.
Ugh! Did he push me? The kiss didn't even go beyond 5 seconds.
"Huh? I kissed him?" I asked myself as I came back to my senses.
"Fuck! Why did I get caught up in the moment?" I was totally embarrassed at this point, because who kisses an enemy?
"Fuck fuck fuck fuck!!!" I groan in frustration.
"Did you just kiss me?" The arsehole yelped, still in a daze.
Shit! Now I have to give an excuse. Think, Yulia, think.
"Erm, I didn't mean to." I slowly respond.
"Oh hell, you did. You just abused me," he yells as he passes his hand through his hair, clearly frustrated.
"What? "No, I didn't, you douche." I barked back defensively.
"Oh really? Then why did you kiss me?" he questions.
Oh shit, now what do I say? I don't know what to tell him.
"You know, actually I was just trying to check if you were gay or not," I told him.
He just stared at me dumbfounded, with his mouth wide open in shock.
"What do you mean? Why would you even do that? Girl, are you ok?" He yells back, clearly angry.
"What? Of course, I'm okay. And the fact that you did not return the kiss shows how gayish you are." snap back defensively.
"The heck? How am I gay? You just kissed me without my permission and expected me to give in? Miss you literally just abused me." he blurts out.
"Well, I'm sorry, yeah. I was just…" I say but stop halfway as I'm out of words.
How do I tell him I was caught up in the moment? Gosh, this is messed up.
"Didn't know Miss Feisty here knew how to say sorry," he says, seeming amused.
"Well, now you know."
"Besides, what were you trying to say? You were just what?" he enquires.
"Erm… nothing, nothing. Let's just forget about it, please." I plead.
"Right!" he agrees.
"How about we go back to discussing how you're going to go about my ruined phone and MacBook?" he questions.
"But it was a mistake. I didn't mean to," I exclaimed as I scratched my head.
"Still doesn't change the fact that they are damaged. And it was clearly your fault since you bumped into me," he insists.
I'm in deep shit, and I really don't know how to get out of it now.
Ha! Kill me already. This is so frustrating.
How do I possibly pay for all these damages?
I really have to think of a way out.
I look towards his direction, and he's staring intently at me.
His eyes are like those of a hawk monitoring me.
Wait, does he think I'm going to run away or something? That's ridiculous. Why would I even do that?
But come to think of it, he doesn't know me, and I'll probably not see him around again. Thinking about it, running might be my only option now.
Right, why didn't I think of this the whole time? All I need to do is distract him, and then off I go.
"Are you just going to stand there and murmur to yourself all day?" he probes from the floor.
"No, I'm just thinking, alright."
"Oh my goodness!!! What is that?" I exclaimed in shock and fear as I pointed in the direction behind him.
Out of fright, he also turned towards that direction while still seated on the floor, asking, "What is it!?" What is it!?"
Taking that as my cue, I pulled Ariela by the hand and dashed off as fast as I could.
I could hear him yelling for me to stop from a distance, but I didn't stop or look back.
Ariela and I ran for a while until we got to the entrance of our hostel before stopping to catch our breath.
"Fuck, that was one hell of a sprint. I'm literally out of breath," I remark while panting.
With her palms on her knee for support as she tried to take deep breaths, Ariela blurted out, "Lia, did we really have to run?"
"Hell yeah! I wasn't about to pay for those damages." I affirmed.
"I feel so bad for him," she murmured.
"My monthly allowance won't be able to cover all that, you know. Maybe like a 6-month allowance or something." I muttered.
"Yeah, you're right. They look so expensive," she agrees.
"And you know I can't call home for now. Mom and Dad had to spend a lot for me to transfer here and everything." I signed.
"But what if he finds us? What if he searches and locates us? What are we going to do?" Ariela wondered in panic.
"Chill, Ela, he doesn't even know our names. So how else is he going to find us?" I answered her.
"Oh, you're actually right," she remarks.
"But I will still find a way to pay him back. Not now but later in the future." I declared.
"Alright if you say so," she says as she stretches back to her full length.
"And please try not to get yourself or both of us into trouble while at it," she pleaded. All I did was nod.
"Alright, let's go in. We can't keep standing out here, and besides, I'm really tired, and I know you are too." I tell her as I put an arm around her shoulders and drag her into the hostel.
