Chapter 22 - Runaway Magical Girl

Lin Feng sighed, bent down, and picked up that deadly heavy, expensive guitar.

On the back of the guitar body, he found a paper strip stuck haphazardly with transparent tape, on which was written a line of crooked words: [If lost again, kind-hearted person please contact WeChat: XXXXXX. Heavy reward (probably)!]

Lost again?

Lin Feng's mouth corner twitched. Exactly how much does this woman lack mental capacity to actually treat this kind of instrument worth tens of thousands as disposable chopsticks and throw it around everywhere?

He took out his mobile phone and searched for that WeChat ID.

The nickname popped out: [Bousou no Mahou Shoujo (Runaway Magical Girl)].

The avatar was a Husky currently breathing fire.

"..." Lin Feng sent a friend request with an expressionless face, note: Guitar.

Almost the next second, a system prompt popped up:

[The other party rejected your friend request, and attached a message: Not buying tea, not taking out loans, not watching porn.]

Immediately following:

[You have been pulled into the blacklist by the other party.]

Lin Feng stared at the screen for three seconds; not only was he not angry, instead, he had a kind of calmness that was within expectations. That woman's brain circuits were indeed not something a normal person could understand. He had to resend the verification, this time writing the note more bluntly: I am Lin Feng, your guitar was left in the rehearsal room.

One minute later.

["Runaway Magical Girl" passed your friend verification.]

Messages immediately popped out:

[Runaway Magical Girl: Aiya! I was just saying how come I felt my back was fluttering light! Scared me to death, I thought it was swiped by aliens!]

[Runaway Magical Girl: Junior Brother Lin! You also know, geniuses are always forgetful. Since everyone is so familiar (referring to being fellow posturing criminals), then that instrument will trouble you to keep safe for one night! Absolutely don't bump or knock it, that is Your Highness' imperial weapon!]

[Rampaging Magical Girl: Meme da! See you tomorrow!]

Lin Feng replied with a ".", then locked the screen.

He raised his head to look at the wall clock in the rehearsal room.

23:15.

The school dormitory's curfew is eleven o'clock.

"Sigh..."

Lin Feng sighed again. For this "Senior Sister" who suddenly popped out, tonight he not only has to guard a guitar here, but also has to go outside the school to find a small hotel to make do for a night.

...

Three days later.

In the afternoon of the weekend, inside the internet cafe near the school, smoke curled up, and keyboard tapping sounds and cursing sounds rose and fell.

Lin Feng sat in the booth in the corner, staring at the screen expressionlessly, mechanically operating the mouse in his hand.

These past few days he passed quite fulfillingly—referring to persisting every day in doing those daily tasks that seemed meaningless. Just now, he show-handed all 23 lottery tickets he had saved up in one breath.

The result was not unexpected; the fate of a Non-Chief cannot be changed.

Besides the sky-filling [Thank you for your patronage] and some trash like [Only one sock], [Expired coupon], the only thing that could be used was two bottles of [Coca-Cola (Bronze)].

Adding the ones left from before, this stuff now became his important strategic material.

Because the cultivation of the vocal path is a big project, just the basic breath practice needs a few months. Since he has these two bottles of cola that can repair the throat, he actually doesn't need to be anxious for success; he can slowly camp and practice.

"Old Lin! Old Lin save me! I'm going to be force-killed under the tower too!!"

A miserable scream like a slaughtered pig came from the side, interrupting Lin Feng's train of thought.

Ren Yichen was wearing headphones, roaring hysterically at the screen. He was playing top lane, and at this moment was being beaten by mixed doubles from the opposing jungler and top laner; the screen instantly turned gray-white.

"Don't scream." Lin Feng calmly farmed wild monsters, "I am fighting the red buff."

"I've died like a dog and you are still farming! Do you know how to play!" Ren Yichen was filled with grief and indignation, "I shouldn't have believed your evil, you said you are a rookie at guitar, playing LOL definitely must also be a rookie! Can't carry!"

Lin Feng glanced at Ren Yichen's miserable record of 0-5-0, and didn't speak.

As a man that has been livering night and day for the Guitar Dao, his hand speed and reaction were long ago not what ordinary players could compare to. He simply felt that helping a teammate like Ren Yichen who delivers heads to catch people was a waste of resources.

"Stabilize, don't feed." Lin Feng said faintly.

Just at this moment, the mobile phone placed beside the keyboard suddenly vibrated.

Buzz—buzz—

Lin Feng swept a glance at the screen; three big characters were impressively jumping on it:

[Second Sister-in-law]

This was the remark he gave Shen Linyin in his address book.

In order to remind himself at all times not to cross the boundary, not to make his brother wear a green hat, he specially used this form of address full of ethical and moral binding force, to use this to suppress the ambiguous effects brought by that damned "Eternal Padlock".

Lin Feng's finger stiffened.

He subconsciously glanced at Ren Yichen beside him.

This guy was focusing all attention on staring at the screen waiting for resurrection, his mouth still muttering about going out to take revenge and wipe out grudges, completely not noticing the movement on Lin Feng's side.

If this let Ren Yichen see his own girlfriend calling his "good brother" while playing games, this misunderstanding could not be washed clean even if jumping into the Yellow River.

Lin Feng rapidly grabbed the phone, bouncing up from the seat like a thief.

"I'm going to the toilet."

Throwing down this sentence, without waiting for Ren Yichen to react, Lin Feng took the still vibrating phone and rushed quickly toward the most remote corner of the internet cafe.
