After weeks of chaos, power plays, and secrets, I needed a break. No CEO duties. No mafia whispers. No hidden threats. Just me and… unfortunately, my clingy wolf.
"Where are we even going?" I asked as Keifer dragged me out of the car.
He smirked, tightening his grip on my hand. "Somewhere normal."
Normal. Hah. Did that even exist for people like us?
But when I looked up and saw the park — kids running, couples walking, vendors selling cotton candy and ice cream — I blinked.
"You brought me to… a park?" I asked slowly.
He leaned close, whispering, "Even CEOs deserve ice cream dates."

Her face lit up. She tried to hide it, of course — acting all cool, sarcastic, untouchable. But I caught it. The way her eyes softened, the way her shoulders relaxed.
That look was worth more than every empire in the world.
"Fine," she muttered, crossing her arms. "But if you make me ride some stupid kiddie carousel, I swear I'll—"
"—scream my name?" I teased.
She smacked my arm. Hard.

"HE'S FEEDING HER ICE CREAM—"
"Shut up! They'll see us!"
"Too late, Felix is already taking pictures."
"POST THEM ON THE GROUP CHAT!!!"
"Jay's gonna kill us when she finds out…"

Jay's POV
"You're staring at me again," I said, licking my strawberry cone.
"Of course." He shrugged like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "You're beautiful."
My cheeks heated. I looked away quickly. "Smooth talker."
He leaned closer, voice dropping low. "Only for you."
😤🔥 This man is dangerous for my heart.
We strolled through the park, and for the first time in forever, I laughed freely. We played basketball at the arcade (I won, obviously 🙄), we fed ducks at the pond, and he even forced me into one of those cheesy couple photo booths.
The strip of pictures came out ridiculous — him making heart eyes while I was trying to look annoyed but secretly smiling.
I tucked it into my pocket. Safe.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Keifer and I sat on a bench, the world finally quiet.
"This…" I whispered, leaning my head on his shoulder. "…this feels nice."
His hand squeezed mine gently. "Get used to it. I'm not going anywhere."
💖 My chest tightened, warmth spreading everywhere.
But then, my phone buzzed again. Same encrypted number.
This time, the message was different.
📲 "Enjoy your date. It's the last peace you'll get."
My blood ran cold.
I locked the phone quickly, forcing a smile at Keifer, who was too busy tucking a stray strand of hair behind my ear.
But inside, I knew—
