Chapter 66 - Chapter 66: Filming and Training

On the plane, Eric was resting with his eyes closed.

Last night, after leaving Chloë Sevigny, who was rolling her eyes and collapsed on the floor, Eric went to the coffee shop for his appointment.

Now, a contract was in his bag; "whale rider" was no longer associated with Niki Caro.

After signing the contract, the two conveniently tested each other's depths and sizes in the coffee shop's restroom, then walked out under the strange gaze of the waitstaff.

In this industry, such things are all too common; after all, the nature of the work is there, even giving rise to the specific term—"set couple."

Due to frequent trips to film movies, if it's a remote area with inconvenient transportation, a group of people can be isolated for several months.

Everyone is an adult and in this materialistic circle. A few days are fine, but after a long time, desires inevitably need to be vented.

Finding a partner or going home is not allowed by time, and ordering takeout is unsafe, so what to do? Naturally, they hook up with someone from the same crew.

Experienced ones separate after filming, and the temporary relationship ends. No one brings up the matter, and if they meet again later and both are willing, rekindling the romance is not impossible.

Those without experience or who are easily emotional will find themselves falling in love with each film, often using the excuse of being unable to "get out of character."

But truly deeply immersed actors are very rare; most are just hormones at play and lust getting the better of them.

Such was the case with Eric and Niki Caro. Eric was handsome and charming, and Niki Caro was just entering her mature years, a woman with a certain allure.

The woman took the initiative, the man followed suit. Whether there would be future collaborations was unclear; a fleeting romance, then forgotten in the world.

As for Chloë Sevigny, she had served him diligently for several days. Coincidentally, there was a female hacker role in "transformers" who partnered with James McAvoy, so he decided to give it to her as a cameo.

When a new project came up, he would give her a suitable role.

However, the Sundance Film Festival was not over yet, and Chloë Sevigny had to participate in promotions, so she wouldn't be able to join the crew for a few more days.

Additionally, Hasbro's stock price rose again today, which could be considered a blessing in disguise.

The release of the Bumblebee video indeed had a significant impact. Now, fans' expectations for the movie have been elevated by several notches, and they also believe that MGM truly has the ability to make a good transformers movie.

There were also numerous fans leaving messages on MGM's official website, requesting the continued release of videos for other transformers.

Eric took the opportunity to issue an order: one model would be released every half month until the movie's release. This method of building hype is still uncommon.

"saw"'s third-week box office was also released, with a normal drop of 47%, taking in $21.2 million, bringing its cumulative North America box office to $96.7 million. Analysts predict the final North America box office could reach around $200 million.

At the same time, regions outside of a few Asian countries also released the film, and high praise still brought high box office. To date, the overseas cumulative box office has reached $54.5 million, with a global cumulative box office of $500 million.

According to analysts' predictions, the final global box office is expected to be $200 million, which for an R-rated horror film, is quite an impressive achievement.

transformers set, or more accurately, the training ground.

Screech!

A pickup truck sped wildly down the road. Suddenly, a curve appeared ahead, and the pickup drifted around the bend.

Bang!

The drift failed, however, and it crashed into a guardrail padded with anti-impact cushions, immediately flipping onto its side.

Seeing this, a group of people immediately ran over. Assistant Director Patty Jenkins quickly coordinated the rescue. Soon after, the vehicle was righted, and Gal Gadot, covered in dust, climbed out of the driver's seat.

"Gadot, are you alright?" Patty Jenkins asked anxiously.

"Cough, cough."

After a few coughs, Gal Gadot forced a smile: "I'm fine, sorry I failed. Let's try again."

Patty Jenkins looked at her hand: "No, you're injured. Get it checked first!"

After an examination by the set doctor, fortunately, it was not serious, just a scrape. The seatbelt had played a significant role.

At this moment, the crowd parted, and Eric walked in: "Gadot, you should treat your wound first and rest for a while."

"Eric, when did you arrive?" Gal Gadot's eyes lit up.

"Just arrived. I didn't expect to see such a big scene as soon as I got here. It seems everyone is training very hard."

Patty Jenkins suggested, "This scene for Gadot is too dangerous. It's quite difficult to perform high-difficulty vehicle maneuvers in a short amount of time. How about using a stunt double?"

Before Eric could speak, Gal Gadot quickly refused: "No, it's just driving. I can definitely do it, believe me!"

This was the film set, and everyone was watching. Everyone else was training hard, and Gal Gadot didn't want to receive special treatment. If something could be achieved through training, but you used a stunt double, how would others view you?

Moreover, although she appeared carefree and informal, her inner personality was inherently strong, and she certainly didn't want others to gossip about Eric.

Eric naturally had the same intention. A good relationship doesn't mean getting a free pass; on the contrary, the standards should be even stricter.

"Patty, this scene is crucial for the final showdown. It's where the female lead's character is best expressed, and where her abilities are best showcased. It must be filmed practically, no stunt doubles!"

The boss had spoken, and everyone else had to obey. All they could do was increase the intensity of the training.

Upon learning of the big boss's arrival, other crew members also came to meet him.

Director's Assistant Neill Blomkamp walked over with a man in a military uniform. The man looked to be in his forties, tall and burly, exuding a tough aura, completely different from the other crew members.

Eric was unfamiliar with military ranks, but looking at the man's intricately patterned epaulets, he figured he wasn't a small fry.

"Director, this is Lieutenant Colonel Freeman. The military has assigned him to be our military consultant."

Eric extended his hand to shake the man's hand, feeling how rough his skin was, almost like he was gripping tree bark.

"Hello, Lieutenant Colonel Freeman, welcome to the "transformers" crew."

Lieutenant Colonel Freeman smiled: "Hello, Mr. Eric. I've received orders to assist you in completing the film's production."

"During this period, any areas requiring military cooperation, please inform me in advance, and I will arrange the relevant matters."

"Then I thank you in advance. Oh, by the way, there are a few actors in the crew who need basic military training, at least to make them look like soldiers, I wonder if..."

Before Eric could finish, Lieutenant Colonel Freeman interrupted: "Don't worry, those young people have already been sent to the nearest camp. According to the filming schedule, they have at least a month of training time."

"Within a month, even if it's a weakling, I can turn him into a qualified soldier—on screen, of course."

"Then I'm relieved. I hope we have a pleasant time together!"
