Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: I’ve Given Too Much for This Family

New York, Plaza Hotel. Trump was once its owner, and it is a symbol of luxury and prestige.

Inside a luxurious suite, the intertwined couple had just finished their battle, and Elena was panting, lying on Eric's chest.

"This is what being young feels like. I like this feeling."

Her fingers glided, savoring the pleasure.

Looking at the mature woman before him, a senior manager at JPMorgan Chase, their last interaction was when red dragon was a box office hit, and Elena called to congratulate him.

No one likes to see their creditors. Eric had thought he would never have any dealings with her again, but unexpectedly, a few months later, they ended up in bed together.

Lighting a cigarette and running a hand through her disheveled hair, Elena struck a classic Sharon Stone pose from Basic Instinct, though she was completely naked.

Perhaps it was the afterglow, but one night had brought them much closer, and Elena's way of addressing him had changed.

"Little guy, tell me your purpose. With MGM's recent momentum, you shouldn't be short on money."

"Haha, too many projects, and money is never enough. Who doesn't like Franklin?"

"Is that so? But I smell a conspiracy on you. You still remember the terms of the agreement, right?"

Eric nodded: "Of course. As per the agreement, if MGM's debt ratio reaches 82%, no new borrowing can be made.

"But you also said that MGM's development momentum is good and will only get better. Recent films have been very profitable, and when transformers is released at the end of the year, we'll make another huge profit."

"So, based on current asset valuations, MGM's debt ratio is probably less than 60%. Even if I want to borrow new debt, it's not a violation."

Unfortunately, Elena was a seasoned veteran and naturally wouldn't believe Eric's nonsense. She just looked at him with a smile.

"Little guy, you need a more convincing reason to persuade me."

The two looked at each other for a moment, and Eric shrugged.

"Alright, do you know AK Films? The recent hit film sharknado was produced by them, and its true owner is me."

"Using AK Films as collateral, I need a loan, the maximum amount, the more the better!"

Although Elena didn't watch many movies, she had heard about sharknado while browsing newspapers.

Hearing this information, she was slightly surprised, spreading her legs as a sign of respect.

"sharknado was actually produced by your company! That's a quality asset, but you haven't told me the reason."

"What reason? What exactly do you want to ask?"

The woman chuckled: "A reason that would make a handsome and wealthy young man like you abandon those Hollywood beauties, fly thousands of miles to New York, and date a woman in her 30s like me!"

"I like you, is that reason enough?"

"No, because I like you too, but I wouldn't specifically fly to Los Angeles. And I believe we are the same kind of people; self-interest is the primary driver, not simple sex."

Facing this woman who wouldn't commit without seeing results, only giving her the bad news without any good news certainly wouldn't work.

"Alright, Elena, you don't need to ask, but if you want to make a fortune, get your money ready to invest in the stock market."

Upon hearing this, Elena immediately frowned: "Are you kidding? The stock market crash just ended. You want to enter now? If there's another setback, you'll be preparing to sell MGM early."

"What if I have inside information?"

Elena paused, a memory flashing through her mind.

After a moment of stunned, she suddenly exclaimed: "Hasbro! That's right, it must be Hasbro!"

This woman was not simple; one sentence made her understand the key.

"I can't tell you the specifics, but if you want to make money, trust me."

"No problem, how much do you want to borrow?"

"What's your maximum authority?"

"That depends on your performance, little guy!"

With that, she hooked her legs over the sofa and leaned back.

After five days in New York, Eric finally boarded the plane back to Los Angeles, dragging his sore waist.

Even the most beautiful flight attendants were invisible to him; his steps were unsteady, his eyes unfocused, he was simply out of energy.

That fiery woman, Elena, was a juicer; at least three times a day, and more if she was in the mood. Even an immortal couldn't withstand it.

Even on the way to the airport to drop him off, they pulled over onto a secluded lane and engaged in illicit activities in broad daylight.

Even when occasional whistles came from outside, she didn't care at all.

Fortunately, mobile phones at the time hadn't developed video recording capabilities, and photos were blocked by the car window tint, otherwise, the two would surely have gone viral.

Ultimately, Eric mortgaged AK Films and the copyrights to saw and barbershop, securing an 800 million dollar loan.

Anyone who wasn't a fool would know this price was artificially inflated far too much. It was only with Elena, a senior manager, that he could take such a huge risk to get it; otherwise, no bank would dare to lend like that.

Los Angeles, even after flying all the way, his energy still hadn't recovered.

Five days, he had been drained for a full five days, one hundred million a day, he had given too much for this family.

Lying on the bed, or more accurately, sprawled on the bed, as lying flat made his waist feel even sorer, and he felt empty below.

Gadot, after wetting her hands with cold water, was diligently and forcefully massaging him, her smooth and soft skin pressing against his muscles, gradually alleviating his fatigue.

"How's this pressure?"

"Hmm, good, very comfortable."

"Eric, you can't do this anymore. You're not a professional football player. How could they do this to you? As your brother, Joshua is too irresponsible."

Yes, he definitely couldn't say he was juiced. So, this blame could only be placed on his good brother, Joshua.

Since Joshua hadn't been home for a long time, he, valuing family ties, went to San Francisco to visit him. As a result, during a team game, he was injured by those professional athletes who didn't know their own strength.

Yes, that's it!

"Don't blame him, Gadot. Joshua was just careless; he is my biological brother after all."

Sighing, Gadot said softly: "Eric, you really are a good person."

"Yes, a very, very good person."

"By the way, I'm going to start training with the crew tomorrow. Will you be there?"

"I need to postpone for a few days, until the matters with saw are concluded. Also, the day after tomorrow is the opening ceremony of the Sundance Film Festival, so I always have to see it."

"You're a vice president, do you still need to personally go to the film festival?"

Gal Gadot was right; for film festival events, every company usually sends dedicated personnel.

At Eric's level, it didn't matter whether he went or not. He was mainly curious, as someone who loves films, not attending such a world-renowned film festival would always feel a bit regrettable.

Additionally, it was for scouting for goods and avoiding impending trouble. No one else could truly handle this task; only he could.

Good movies = dollars!
