Chapter 21 - Chapter-21

"It's so hot..." Mom, dressed conservatively, wiped the sweat from her forehead and lay down.

As I glanced back at her, my gaze immediately fixated on her exposed collarbone, where a dark mole stood out strikingly. I couldn't help but recall those videos on her computer once more.

"It's still early. Mom will work for an hour first, then cook dinner for you. Could you help put these things in the fridge..." Mom, carrying the shopping bags, placed them in the hallway before turning to me at the door, her face worn with fatigue.

"Okay..." I nodded in response, then walked into the hallway to carry the bags to the refrigerator.

Mom hadn't changed clothes; she walked straight into the storage room, seemingly busy selecting and packing goods. It appeared that while she was out shopping, a customer had placed an order.

As I was putting things in the fridge, my phone suddenly rang. It was Da Guo calling.

"What's up?" I answered the call while standing beside the refrigerator.

"Auntie's back, right?" Da Guo asked cautiously over the phone.

"How'd you know?" I asked, catching my breath. The shopping bags were surprisingly heavy—Mom had stocked up on enough groceries to last us a week.

"Guessed. Did... did you tell Auntie?" Da Guo skipped my question and went straight to the point.

I couldn't help glancing back at the glass of the back door, seeing the closed warehouse door.

"I asked you on QQ, but you didn't reply, so I..." Da Guo said awkwardly. My QQ was set to "Do Not Disturb" mode, so unless I checked it myself, my phone wouldn't alert me.

"I haven't even told my mom yet..." I said, feeling a bit speechless. I really didn't know what Da Guo was thinking. If it were me, I'd be scrambling to hide it, but he'd gone and confessed to my mom using my words.

"Oh... okay..." Da Guo replied, a hint of disappointment in his voice.

After hanging up, I continued organizing the ingredients. Once finished, I headed down the hallway toward my bedroom. Through the front door glass, I spotted Da Guo trotting over.

Damn, no wonder he knew my mom was back. Looks like he'd been hanging around my place. Probably spotted her return. Seems this kid just couldn't bring himself to leave.

I wondered if he'd gone off to jerk off somewhere.

He'd just gotten those videos of my mom and couldn't wait to get home, so he'd headed out nearby to take care of business.

Now that he'd finished, his pants weren't bulging anymore, so he came back to my place.

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked Daguo as he walked in. The kid was practically depressed.

"Nothing much, just wanted to crash at your place..." Daguo blinked and said.

"You've got some nerve..." I knew exactly what he was after and sighed helplessly.

"Where's Auntie?" Da Guo scanned the room as he entered, looking disappointed when he didn't see my mom.

"Over there..." I pointed toward the storage room.

"She's really busy..." Da Guo glanced at the storage room door before checking his phone.

"Hello, package pickup..." Just as Da Guo and I were chatting idly, a delivery person entered through our iron gate. Standing outside, she announced herself. It was a female courier, one my mom frequently worked with.

After all, my mom sold adult products, and male couriers found it somewhat awkward. So she specifically chose to partner with a female courier.

"Just a sec..." I told the courier.

She was a woman in her thirties, about Mom's age, though her looks and figure were nowhere near Mom's.

Years of sun exposure had darkened her skin, making her look older than she was. Even in summer clothes, her plump figure was obvious—especially that barrel waist.

In terms of skin, looks, and figure, she was worlds apart from my mom.

Still, she often came to our house to pick up packages, so I gradually got to know her.

I pulled out my phone to call my mom because it wasn't convenient for me to go to the storage room directly. But when I called her, no one answered. I glanced at the time—my mom had been gone for over half an hour. Didn't she say she'd be back in half an hour to cook for me?

Usually, Mom packed things up super fast, always having the parcels ready by the door before the courier arrived.

"Why isn't anyone picking up?" I muttered to myself, puzzled, putting my phone down.

"I just called too, but no answer. Is your mom not home? If she's not here, I'll come back later..." the courier lady said with a smile.

"Alright, come back later then. Mom probably hasn't finished yet..." I replied to the courier. Couriers are always pressed for time, so I usually don't keep them waiting.

The courier auntie rode off on her electric bike. I kept dialing Mom's number, but there was no answer.

"Could something have happened?" Da Guo pointed toward the storage room.

"That can't be..." I murmured, a flicker of worry crossing my mind. Mom always carried her phone. If she'd left it at home, I'd definitely hear it ringing.

"Go knock on the door. Your mom knows you're aware of her job..." Da Guo gestured toward the storage room.

"Hmm..." Feeling uneasy, I dashed toward the back door with Da Guo following behind. But once I reached the exit, he stopped at the threshold instead of coming with me.

"Mom..." I knocked on the warehouse's iron door a few times before calling out inside. Still, there was no response.

"Mom, did you hear me?" I knocked again, this time harder, and shouted louder, but still no answer.

I turned to look at Da Guo. A hint of worry flashed across his face. At that moment, I couldn't think of anything else. I yanked open the warehouse door. Thankfully, it wasn't locked from the inside.

Inside, Mom lay on the floor in the middle of the warehouse, surrounded by several unpacked parcels. Her eyes were tightly shut.

"Mom..." Cold sweat broke out on my forehead. I rushed inside, lifted her off the ground, but she only frowned, beads of sweat on her face.

"She must have heatstroke..." Da Guo rushed in and remarked upon seeing her.

I couldn't lift her—she was taller than me, and I lacked the strength.

"Let me..." Da Guo took her from my arms and effortlessly lifted her in a princess carry.

"Quick, get a basin of cold water and a towel..." ..." Da Guo instructed me after lifting her, then hurried toward the house with my mother in his arms.

I rushed to the kitchen to prepare the cold water and grabbed a towel. My hands trembled, fear gripping me.

Heatstroke could be minor or severe—it could even be fatal. If Mom were gone, I'd be utterly alone, with no family left.

When I reached Mom's bedroom, I saw that Da Guo had already unbuttoned her shirt, revealing her snow-white chest. She wore only a shirt over her bra, her full breasts and cleavage outlined by the undergarment.

But Da Guo had no time for such thoughts. He snatched the towel from my hands, soaked it in cold water, and began wiping Mom's body, face, neck, collarbone, and chest.

Watching him, I could tell he was genuinely worried and rushing to help Mom. He wasn't taking advantage of her. Seeing his sincere concern, a flicker of relief washed over me.

"Don't worry, Auntie just has mild heatstroke. Get some boiled water and salt..." Da Guo instructed me while continuing to wipe her down. Mom was still conscious, letting out faint moans. After his care, her expression visibly improved—her furrowed brow relaxed, and her eyes slowly opened, though she looked extremely weak.

After I brought the items, Da Guo measured out some salt, then stirred it into cool boiled water.

"Here... Auntie, drink some salt water..." Holding the cup, Da Guo cradled Mom's head in his arms, bringing the cup to her lips.

Mom opened her reddened lips in response, and Da Guo fed her the salt water drop by drop...
