Chapter 101: Little Girls VS Pus Monster - Campers Run for Their Lives!

At the edge of the forest, sunlight fractured into dappled patterns through the dense canopy, and the air hung thick with the smell of earth, rotting leaves, and wildflowers.

Carrie followed behind the three little girls, remembering Mrs. Connor's instructions, and couldn't help but remind them, "Let's not go too far. Let's just look around here, okay?"

Lily turned her head, her face adorned with an innocent, sweet smile, her voice dripping like honey: "We know, Carrie. We'll just pick some pretty flowers to make a wreath for Mom—she'll love it! We promise not to wander off."

As she spoke, she primly held the hands of the other two girls, as if she were the most responsible one.

Emma, being pulled along, showed little expression, her other hand still fiddling with the wooden stake that was already taking shape. She had no interest in flower wreaths; she just felt that moving around seemed better than sitting idle at camp.

As for Esther, from the moment she entered this patch of woods, she'd been feeling uneasy. Unlike her two 'sisters,' she wasn't so carefree; her adult soul and intuition made her constantly feel as if malevolent eyes were lurking in the surrounding shadows, watching them.

"Don't you feel... like something's watching us?" Esther finally couldn't help but speak, her voice low, her eyes warily scanning the intertwined shadows around them.

"Really?" Lily blinked, feigning innocence as she looked around, "I only see birds and butterflies. Esther, are you being paranoid? Dad's ghost stories are all made up!"

Carrie, hearing Esther's words, also instinctively became alert. She didn't have Edward's keen perception, but last night's experience made her cautious. She silently extended her telekinesis, carefully sensing every rustle around them.

Just then, Lily, who was leading the 'expedition,' suddenly stopped, pointing to a spot ahead half-hidden by vines and bushes, and let out a small gasp: "Whoa! Look, there's a cabin!"

Everyone followed her gaze, and sure enough, in the center of a forest clearing stood a solitary wooden cabin. The cabin looked abandoned for years; the boards on its walls were rotted and blackened, its roof covered in moss, and a window was shattered, leaving a dark, hollow opening like an eye staring into the forest.

"Let's check it out!" Lily's eyes sparkled with excitement, completely unaffected by the eerie atmosphere. Instead, she was like an explorer discovering something new, pulling Emma and Esther toward it.

"Wait!" Carrie quickly called out to stop them, "That looks really dangerous. We shouldn't go near it."

However, no sooner had she spoken than the door of the dilapidated cabin suddenly burst open from inside. Immediately after, two young people who looked like college students tumbled out, their faces twisted with pure terror.

The guy stumbled as he ran, constantly looking back as if something horrible was chasing him. The girl was even paler, her hair disheveled, crying as she ran.

They burst from the cabin's vicinity, nearly colliding with Lily and her group.

"Run! Run!" The guy, seeing them, shouted incoherently, "Don't go near there! Whatever you do, don't go in that house!"

"There's... there's a monster inside!" The girl next to him was sobbing, pointing breathlessly at the cabin, "In... in the basement! It woke up! It's awake!"

A monster?

Carrie's heart sank, a bad feeling rising within her.

Before she could think further, a deep, angry roar erupted from within the open cabin door.

Accompanying the roar, a tall, bloated figure slowly emerged from the shadows of the doorway, exposed to the filtered sunlight.

Its appearance was identical to the 'creek thing' that Edward and Carrie had dealt with last night!

Over eight feet tall, with a body as bloated as over-fermented dough, its dirty grayish-white skin covered in constantly pulsating boils that looked ready to burst and ooze pus at any moment. On its disproportionately small head, there was only a massive mouth split to its ears, filled with jagged teeth.

Viscous, foul-smelling saliva constantly dripped from its mouth, corroding the ground with faint hissing sounds.

"Oh God—! It's out!" The college students shrieked in despair upon seeing the monster appear.

Carrie's mind went blank for a moment.

How could there be another one? Wasn't the one from last night already crushed into pulp by her telekinesis? Could there be more than one of these things?

Countless thoughts flashed through her mind, but she had no time to process them.

The pus monster had already locked onto this group of fresh prey, taking heavy steps toward them.

"You guys need to get out of here! Run!"

However, to her surprise, none of her three 'sisters' showed any sign of fear.

"Ew, how gross." Lily wrinkled her nose, her face filled with undisguised revulsion, "It's even uglier than the thing in Dad's ghost stories. Those boils look like they're about to pop; I really want to take a needle and burst them all."

Emma stopped sharpening her wooden stake, her eyes devoid of fear, only cold, focused curiosity, as if observing a specimen. She even leaned forward slightly, wanting to see more clearly.

Esther's reaction was the most pronounced, but it wasn't fear. A look of disgust mixed with aggression, unnatural for her age, appeared on her small face. She silently took a step back, looking for rocks or branches that could be used as weapons.

These three... Carrie was momentarily speechless, but right now, she couldn't worry about them. She took a deep breath, focusing all her attention on the approaching monster.

At the same time, she extended her right hand, fingers splayed, pointing at the massive creature. The college students had been about to bolt, but then they witnessed a scene they would never forget.

"Hmmmmm—"

An invisible, immense force suddenly descended!

The pus monster, mid-step, suddenly froze, as if it had hit an invisible wall. Its momentum caused its upper body to tilt forward, but it couldn't advance another inch.

It let out an angry roar, all its muscles and boils pulsating wildly, trying to break free from this sudden restraint.

"It... it stopped?" The guy rubbed his eyes, unable to believe what he was seeing.

"It's... it's that girl?" The girl pointed at Carrie, who stood at the front, her voice trembling.

Carrie ignored their shock. She could feel that this monster's strength seemed slightly greater than last night's, and maintaining the telekinetic barrier was making her strain.

She didn't want to perform the bloody 'compression' like last night; that scene was truly revolting, and it drained her energy.

Her eyes narrowed, and she decided to end it quickly!

"Get back!"

Carrie let out a sharp cry, and her extended right hand suddenly pushed forward!

The invisible force that had been restraining the monster instantly transformed from a 'wall' into a 'battering ram,' slamming into the creature with overwhelming power!

With a tremendous crash!

The giant monster, over eight feet tall, was sent flying backward like a rag doll hit by a truck, soaring back through the doorway of the dilapidated cabin.

Immediately after, a series of crashing and collapsing sounds came from inside, followed by a heavy thud.

For a moment, dust flew and wood splinters scattered.

Around them, an eerie silence returned.

"What... the hell???"

The college students' jaws dropped. They stared at Carrie in shock, then looked at the cabin, which was now on the verge of total collapse. Their entire understanding of reality violently shattered.

"We need to go—now!" Carrie felt sweat on her forehead. She didn't linger, grabbing Lily, who was closest to her, and turned to lead them away from this place.

Lily grumbled a little, "Aw, that's no fun. We didn't even pick any flowers yet." But she still obediently followed Carrie back.

Emma and Esther also silently followed.

Just then, an even angrier, more violent roar came from beneath the cabin, and the entire ground seemed to shake with it.

The college students, still rooted to the spot, shivered, finally snapping out of their shock.

Seeing the monster about to burst out again, they didn't dare stay another second, unleashing the fastest sprint of their lives, scrambling and screaming as they ran in the opposite direction from Carrie and the others.
