Chapter 76: Master, You're So Twisted - I Love It!
The Creeper's charge was powerful, and the gust of fetid wind it kicked up was strong enough to nearly knock a person over.
Inside the bus, through the broken windows, students could only see a blurry black figure confronting Edward. Fear had choked their throats, leaving them unable to even scream.
However, at this tense moment, Edward made a puzzling move. He didn't immediately engage. Instead, as if he had eyes in the back of his head, he lightly snapped his fingers toward the school bus.
An invisible wave, centered on him, instantly spread out, silently enveloping the entire school bus.
But this time, it wasn't a violent impact—rather, it was like the gentlest lullaby.
Inside the bus, the students, driver, and Mr. Peterson, who'd been trembling with fear just seconds ago, simultaneously felt a powerful wave of drowsiness wash over their minds.
Their consciousness seemed gently stroked by an invisible hand. All chaotic thoughts and fearful emotions were instantly soothed, and then, one by one, they softly collapsed onto their seats, falling into deep sleep.
Even Frank, who'd been white-knuckling the armrest and forcing himself to stay calm, wasn't spared.
His glasses slipped down his nose, his head tilted, and he fell into slumber.
The entire school bus became deathly silent.
Except for one person.
The moment Jennifer felt that power, she instinctively tensed, but the ability cleverly bypassed her, leaving her unaffected.
She knew this was Edward's doing. He'd cleared the area.
This meant the scene to follow wasn't suitable for ordinary people to witness.
After completing this, Edward refocused on the monster before him.
"Alright, no audience now." He flexed his wrist, an interested look crossing his face. "Perfect. I recently acquired a new toy, and I'll use you to break it in."
As his words fell, he extended his right hand forward.
In the air, a golden speck of light appeared from nowhere, then rapidly elongated and transformed.
As the light dissipated, a massive war hammer—ancient in design and imposing in appearance—materialized in his hand.
The hammer head was massive, its surface covered in intricate Norse runes. The long shaft was wrapped with leather grips worn smooth by countless battles.
It was the [Replica Mjolnir] that had been sitting in his inventory!
With the hammer in hand, Edward's entire aura changed. If before he resembled a calm hunter, now he was a warrior god about to enter battle.
The monster opposite him—the Creeper awakened from ancient slumber—seemed to sense the threat this weapon posed.
It stopped its charge, a low growl emanating from its throat, and its tattered bat wings flapped uneasily.
It was highly intelligent. Its predatory instinct screamed that this young man wielding a war hammer was in a completely different league from the "food" that only knew how to scream.
"ROAR!"
The Creeper chose not to clash head-on. It violently pushed off the ground, massive bat wings fully spread, kicking up a gust of wind as it shot into the sky, soaring straight into the clouds!
It intended to use aerial superiority to find an opening from above and launch a fatal strike. This was its tried-and-true hunting technique.
In the school bus, Jennifer, who'd just stood up, saw this and her heart tightened.
However, Edward merely looked up, watching the black speck disappear into the night sky, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"Want to fly?"
He chuckled softly, and then, under Jennifer's astonished gaze, his feet slowly left the ground.
Without wings, without jetpack, defying gravity itself, he flew straight upward with swift precision. The hammer in his hand traced a brilliant arc in the moonlight, like a reverse-launched meteor, chasing after the Creeper!
High in the sky, the Creeper circled, using its special sense to lock onto the "energy source" on the ground that made it feel threatened.
But the next second, it sensed something was wrong.
A powerful oppressive force was rapidly approaching from below!
It abruptly looked down, only to see the young man had already caught up, hammer in hand, moving even faster than its own flight!
This was completely beyond its comprehension!
The Creeper released a shriek of anger and terror, suddenly swooping down, its talons like iron hooks grabbing at Edward's head!
"Perfect!"
Edward didn't dodge. The hammer in his hand spun into a beautiful arc through the air, then he swung it upward with devastating force!
CLANG—!
A deafening clang, like steel against steel, erupted beneath the clouds.
The Creeper's talons, capable of tearing through sheet metal, collided violently with the hammer's head, sending a shower of dazzling sparks flying.
Tremendous force surged through the weapon, and the Creeper felt as if its claws had struck a mountain. Its entire body was uncontrollably sent tumbling backward.
Before it could regain balance, Edward's figure had already followed like a shadow.
"You're going in my collection."
His cold voice rang in the Creeper's ears.
Before the words even finished, the hammer had transformed into golden lightning, sweeping across with a whistling sound that tore through air!
The Creeper was horrified. It frantically flapped its wings, trying to dodge, but too late.
CRACK!
The hammer struck its wing joint with bone-shattering force.
One of the Creeper's bat wings was cleanly severed at its base!
Excruciating pain surged through it. It released a desperate shriek, its body losing balance, plummeting like a broken kite headfirst into the cornfield below.
BOOM!
With a thunderous impact, a large crater was smashed into the earth.
Edward slowly descended beside the crater, looking at the Creeper struggling at the bottom, his face devoid of emotion.
This monster possessed powerful regenerative abilities. Given enough time and sufficient flesh to consume, even severed wings could regrow.
But Edward clearly had no intention of giving it that chance.
He walked step by step into the crater's bottom, the hammer in his hand trailing along the ground, carving a deep furrow.
The Creeper struggled to rise, and in its gaze toward Edward, for the first time, an emotion other than greed and cruelty appeared—fear.
Edward approached it and raised the hammer high.
CRUNCH!
Without hesitation, the hammer came down on the Creeper's chest with brutal force, caving in its ribcage and pinning it firmly to the ground.
The evil heart within the monster's body was crushed, convulsing violently for a moment before stopping.
It temporarily lost its ability to move.
But Edward knew that wasn't enough.
He raised the hammer again and brought it down.
CRACK! CRACK!
Two more devastating strikes, and the Creeper's remaining wing and both legs were shattered beyond recognition.
After this, Edward, as if handling garbage, used his telekinesis to lift the Creeper's still faintly twitching torso into the air, then walked back to the road carrying the monster's broken body.
Jennifer stood by the bus door, watching the figure slowly approaching in the moonlight—carrying the corpse of a terrifying demon and wielding a blood-stained war hammer.
This scene, filled with raw violence and primal conquest, was deeply etched into her soul.
As a succubus, she found displays of absolute dominance and power... intoxicating.
"Jennifer, come here." Edward stopped at the school bus door and said calmly. "I'm taking you somewhere."
"Where?" Jennifer was confused. In this desolate wilderness, where else could they go?
Edward didn't answer, merely murmured, "Open the office."
Then he reached out and pulled open the ordinary-looking school bus door.
The moment the door opened, Jennifer's pupils contracted sharply.
Behind the door was no longer the dim bus aisle and sleeping students, but a vast space she'd never seen before—filled with modern aesthetics and controlled chaos! Gigantic trophy display cases, an imposing office desk, neon signs glowing on walls...
This was the "Devil May Cry" office.
"Come in." Edward, carrying the Creeper's corpse, stepped inside first.
Jennifer paused momentarily, then, filled with shock and curiosity, followed him.
The moment she stepped into the office, the school bus door behind her automatically slammed shut with a BANG. That door transformed in her vision into a heavy black door carved with demonic reliefs.
Edward casually tossed the Creeper's body onto the floor, then walked to the massive trophy display case.
He snapped his fingers, and a brand new display stand—complete with titanium restraints and a pure silver cross—appeared from thin air on the wall.
He walked over, lifted the Creeper's broken torso, skillfully locked it in restraints, then retrieved two [Pure Silver Crosses] and firmly pinned the pair of tattered bat wings he'd severed—one on the left, one on the right—onto the stand.
After finishing, he stepped back several paces, surveying his new collection with satisfaction.
"Not bad. Another trophy for the wall."
Jennifer approached slowly, staring at the gruesome display with wide eyes. The Creeper's lipless face frozen in eternal terror, its wings spread as if still attempting escape, the silver crosses burning faintly against its cursed flesh.
"Master," her voice was breathless, almost reverent, "this is... this is incredible. Your own private collection of nightmares?"
"Every problem I've solved." Edward gestured to the display case, which now held Freddy's glove, Jason's mask, the Joker Art bottle, and now the Creeper's wings. "Trophies remind you of victories. Proof that the monsters can be beaten."
Jennifer's gaze swept across the collection, then returned to Edward. Her eyes glowed faintly red—a succubus's response to overwhelming attraction.
"Master," she said softly, stepping closer, "you're so twisted."
She smiled, fangs showing slightly.
"I love it so much."
Edward glanced at her, noting the demonic admiration in her expression, and smirked slightly.
"Figured you'd appreciate the aesthetic."
He walked to his desk, setting the hammer down carefully. It had performed admirably for a "replica." Maybe the system's lottery wasn't completely useless after all.
"Come on," he said, heading back toward the door. "Need to get back before anyone wakes up. Last thing I need is Frank asking why we vanished for an hour."
Jennifer followed, casting one last lingering look at the trophy wall.
Her Master wasn't just powerful—he was building a monument to his victories over evil.
And she got to witness it firsthand.
As they stepped back through the door into the quiet school bus, Edward closed it behind them. The office vanished.
Around them, students still slept peacefully, completely unaware that they'd just been saved from a centuries-old predator.
Edward settled back into his seat, pulling out his phone to check the time.
Jennifer sat beside him, leaning close.
"Master?" she whispered.
"Mm?"
"Thank you for showing me your office."
Edward glanced at her, then returned his gaze forward.
"You're bound to me. Figured you should know where I work."
Jennifer smiled, that pleased, possessive smile of a succubus who'd just been given exclusive access to her Master's inner sanctum.
She settled against the window, eyes half-closed, utterly content.
Behind them, Frank snored softly, glasses still askew on his face.
The bus sat quiet on Route 9, under pale moonlight.
And in a cornfield thirty yards away, a pool of dark blood slowly soaked into the earth—the only remaining evidence that the Creeper had ever been there at all.
