The days passed steadily. Three days before their scheduled departure for the Larkvood Kingdom, Kazien and his three fiancés, who were still officially students at the academy, decided to spend their break in the main library.
Inside the room surrounded by towering wooden bookshelves, Kazien, Alvin, Allen, and Arken gathered a thick stack of magic books. Their goal was simple: to broaden their insight into advanced magic theories of various elements. Not forgetting, they also took several thick encyclopedias discussing the world's intricacies and geography.
However, their way of studying was far from normal.
Schliff... Schliff... Schliff...
The sound of pages being turned at a rapid pace echoed in succession from their table.
Thanks to the power of the God's Eye embedded in the four of them, all the text, magic symbols, and images they saw could be easily understood and perfectly copied into their memories with just a single glance.
That sight, of course, drew attention. Several senior students who happened to be nearby stared with expressions of bewilderment mixed with awe. Seeing Kazien, the genius student who had enabled Class 1-D to sweep the top rankings, studying with such an extreme method, a ridiculous assumption began to spread.
All the students who witnessed Kazien and his three fiancés studying diligently before the tournament in the Larkvood Kingdom spontaneously decided to follow in their footsteps. They thought that flipping pages quickly was the secret key to Kazien's intelligence.
That afternoon, an absurd scene unfolded. The academy library suddenly became overcrowded due to the large number of students forcing themselves to read by flipping pages at lightning speed.
The sound of paper rubbing roughly filled the room, making the librarian, who usually maintained silence, stand frozen behind the desk, bewildered to see such irrational reading enthusiasm.
Kazien, realizing the absurd phenomenon, spontaneously asked a female student in a somewhat loud voice.
"Why are you flipping the pages of the book you're reading so quickly?" Kazien asked in confusion. "Are you panicking?"
The student was actually puzzled by the question that had just come out of Kazien's mouth.
"What do you mean?" the student asked, feeling confused. "Aren't you doing it too? I'm imitating you, hoping to become as smart as you!"
Hearing that answer, Kazien and his three fiancés finally understood why the library had become so absurd.
My fiancés and I can read at a single glance because of our 'God's Eye'. Kazien thought, feeling a bit uneasy for being the source of this absurd event in the academy library. It seems I have to give them a logical reason.
Kazien sighed and looked at the student. "My three Fiancès and I are searching for specific, important information in the library." Kazien explained with his own excuse. "It's impossible for us to become smart just by glancing like that."
Hearing Kazien's answer, the girl gaped in shock, her face turning red with embarrassment because of her own foolish actions.
And so, the misunderstanding that occurred in the library finally subsided. Even several other students in the library felt the same as that girl, feeling 'stupid' for having done something so embarrassing.
Slowly but surely, the situation inside the library returned to tranquility. There were no more book pages being flipped as roughly and quickly as before.
....
....
Time continued to flow unnoticed. And finally, the day of their departure for the Larkvood Kingdom arrived.
In the front courtyard of the academy, the atmosphere appeared very different from usual. The area had been filled with a large number of elite soldiers who had been specially prepared by the kingdom. Their security formation was very tight. Even amidst the quiet of the morning, Kazien could clearly feel the presence of assassins hiding in the corners of the buildings, ready to protect them from the shadows.
A commanding officer on duty stepped forward and bowed respectfully before the group.
"Please forgive us for this commotion!" the commander said in a firm yet respectful tone. "Because Lord Alvin is a High Elf, His Majesty has directly ordered the addition of personnel to escort you all so that this journey remains safe."
Kazien looked at the line of soldiers, then replied with a thin smile. "It's fine, I completely understand." Kazien replied casually. "I leave the escorting to you."
"Understood, Sir!" the commander answered loudly.
Once security was ensured to be perfect, everyone began to step into the carriage. Fortunately, the mode of transportation they used was not an ordinary horse-drawn carriage, but a specialized military carriage made by Kazien himself.
The carriage had been modified with spatial magic so it could accommodate many people inside very comfortably. Dean Claus, Elisa, and Erica joined the group to provide support. However, just when they thought the group was complete, the thing that surprised them most happened.
The door to a room located inside the carriage suddenly opened. The number one man in the kingdom, King Nalvon, suddenly stepped out from that room along with Felix, who followed casually behind him.
Instantly, Kazien, his three fiancés, Dean Claus, Elisa, Erica, and several elite soldiers inside bowed in unison to pay their respects to him.
"Enough, there's no need to be so formal." King Nalvon greeted casually, waving his hand slightly. "All of you, raise your heads!"
Elisa, who still couldn't hide her surprise, emboldened herself to ask. "Why are you coming with us to the Larkvood Kingdom, Your Majesty?" Elisa asked in wonder. "Is your work at the palace already finished?"
"I just want to see the abilities of these four!" King Nalvon answered relaxedly, then dropped his bottom and sat in a plush chair in the corner of the room. "This tournament will surely be over quickly. Hahaha."
Hearing the relaxed and confident words of the king, Kazien and his three fiancés could only look at each other and smile wryly. They understood exactly what the King meant.
A few moments later, the military carriage began to move slowly, leaving the capital. The atmosphere inside the cabin was quite quiet, until finally a voice broke the silence.
"Kazien..." Felix called out suddenly. The young man looked at Kazien with an uninterpretable gaze. "My younger sister is very disappointed in you because you preferred men as your fiancés instead of her."
Hearing that statement, the atmosphere inside the carriage tightened slightly. However, Kazien did not budge at all.
"I don't care!" Kazien answered firmly, looking back at Felix without hesitation. "I am indeed not interested in women! I have also promised that I will not betray the three of them."
The lips of Alvin, Allen, and Arken curved into warm smiles upon hearing Kazien's firm answer. Their hearts always felt at ease whenever their fiancé acknowledged their existence.
However, as if not satisfied with the tension that had just subsided, Felix looked closely at the faces of Kazien's three fiancés. Then, with a playful tone and a teasing smile, he asked something he really shouldn't have asked them.
"If, hypothetically, I were the one who liked Kazien, would you three allow me to become one of his fiancés?"
Hearing that question...
Zap!
The sound of instant movement magic echoed within the room.
