Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Evra

In front of Mais and many young people, Kasuur and Ulam faced each other. It was not appropriate for these young people to fight in such an environment, but there were people who were curious about this fight. These were the older people in the crowd. Many of them were in the Core Realm. Even the lowest of them was at the fifth stage of this realm. They were invited because they were not ordinary people. They watched the children's discussion with interest. It was a great way to see if Kasuur was truly talented. A confrontation was about to take place between the green-haired fatty and the young nobleman.

"Why should I owe you an explanation?"

Kasuur asked, smiling. He really didn't seem to care at all. But Mais knew that Kasuur was actually quite caring. He knew this older boy didn't stand a chance against him. Ulam spread his aura, showing everyone that he was a Stage 8 Origin Master. Kasuur's aura, unlike Ulam's, did not leak out of his core, which confirmed that he was in the Core Realm. Kasuur had already entered the Core Realm before coming to the city. His origin energy had merged with his body, turning into a core. As long as Kasuur did not use his origin energy, it was impossible to accurately estimate his power.

A thin layer of origin energy still radiated outside Kasuur's body. These were fragments of energy that had not caught up to his cultivation level and had not been incorporated into his core yet. While the elders understood the situation, the young did not have the same experience.

Ever since they arrived, many had suspected that this fat guy was the genius Kasuur they were talking about.

"Can't you see you hurt them?" Ulam said. His gaze was not enough to hide his emotions. He was too impulsive and rash.

Maria, on the other hand, completely ignored this boy's feelings for her. A smile crossed her face, indicating that she was enjoying the situation.

Mais laughed inwardly. The boy was playing the good guy, but wasn't he just trying to look impressive? Of course, Mais might have been too paranoid, but Ulam couldn't hide his jealousy.

For someone like Mais, who could only perceive by hearing, it was an easy detail to notice when Ulam was so obvious.

"Isn't their injury their own weakness? Why are you interfering? Do you think you're the minister of justice? You can only be the minister of my ass."

Kasuur was certainly harsh in his words. Maria's eyebrows twitched. Ulam was definitely no ordinary person. Why was he so insistent on provoking him?

She turned her head and looked at the blind boy on her right. He had a Sage Beast beneath those sweet clothes. Maria's own father cared so much for them. How could Kasuur be afraid?

Even if they had two sages with them, it was not enough. Kasuur was too arrogant. It was obvious that he was from the village and wasn't thinking ahead.

But what about the big, scarred boy? Can't you see everything behind those gray eyes? Why don't you tell him to be more careful?"

Ulam's face paled. Could he stand by while this boy insulted him? The boys behind him rushed forward to kick this boy's ass, but they were held back by Ulam. He knew it was despicable for a noble to attack like that. If he couldn't control his anger, how would he climb the ranks in the future?

The surrounding elders approved of him. Kasuur's actions seemed to elevate Ulam.

"I challenge you to a duel."

"I refuse. We're not even on the same level. I will not bully you."

Instant refusal. Although this was a roundabout way of saying he had crossed over to the Core Realm, not many of the young believed it. The elders, of course, remained suspicious. Ulam was even more furious. Being considered unworthy was a heavy blow to his pride.

"I'll murder you!"

He leapt through the crowd. He jumped at our fatso with a gun that had suddenly appeared in his hand. Neither Maria nor Mais moved. Not even Kasuur moved. Instead, another figure stepped forward from the crowd. He countered Ulam's sword with one of his own. He had always been better than Ulam at sword training since childhood.

Waves of origin energy spread around. They thought it was because of Maria beside her that Mais was unaffected by the collision at such close range. Maria should have protected her.

But nothing of the sort happened. Maria looked at Mais and laughed. She wasn't sure how strong he was. She didn't think he had crossed over to the Core Realm because his body had never shown signs of weakening from transforming the core. From this distance, however, he seemed indifferent to the fight between the two origin masters of the eighth stage. He was probably on the same level as them, if not slightly higher.

Kasuur was laughing hysterically. The person in front of him was a tall young man with thin, wavy brown hair. His hair didn't move at all in the collision. Apparently, it was quite rigid.

Both combatants retreated. His name was Evra. He was the same age as Maria and was friends with her and Ulam since childhood. His father was a sage who rarely went out in public in the city. Evra himself did not often participate in activities outside of his studies. When he heard about the great genius here, he wanted to come and fight him. He was a young man with a keen interest in fighting, and he and Maria were particularly close friends.

"Mr. Navan is here! I can't believe he came today! I can't believe it!"

"I complained a lot when my father asked me to come here, but apparently, it was pointless. I would climb Mount Uhud to see this handsome prince."

"My prince! Take one look at me, and I will devote my whole life to you!"

Evra was quite famous among noble girls, and he was on the list of the most handsome young nobles in the royal city. He certainly outshone a chubby Kasuur and a blind man with a scarred face like Mais.

"Evra, if you want to fight me, that's fine, but let's do it later. I have someone else to take care of now!"

Ulam was furious. He didn't want to meet this crazy fighting maniac here. He wouldn't even dare to kill anyone, yet he was obsessed with fighting. It was absolutely annoying.

Evra turned his head and nodded to Maria. Kasuur frowned at this, but Maria smiled and accepted the greeting. She was really close friends with Evra.

Evra stood in front of himself. He pointed his sword directly at Ulam's chest. There was barely a meter between the tip of the sword and Ulam.

"I will fight you because I want to fight the birthday boy. If you win, you can fight like before. If you lose, I will be the one to fight."

There was no way he could refuse. All the elders were watching them at that moment, especially Maria. He had already made a mistake by attacking the birthday boy, but now he had a chance to turn things around. He was going to take it.

He was going to beat him and then kick Kasuur's ass. He should have been the one to marry Maria. Not these brats!

In the end Ulam had to accept this duel. His father was definitely watching him in the crowd.

Knowing this, he couldn't turn on his heel right now.

Besides, he didn't think he needed to.

"Let's fight, wimp."

Evra laughed calmly while Ulam shot him a sharp, fierce look.
