Chapter 1 - Messy Start

"How long can I continue to keep this up?"

Murmuring to himself, Filure Writs stood at the balcony and leaned forward as snowflakes fell gently from the starry night sky. The star gleamed beautifully in the black sky, yet Filure could only stare at it with questions. Looking down from above, it felt as if the whole dark sky was gazing at him, not with main character-like syndrome, but a disappointed view, at the skinny man in his 20s. Soon, he pushed himself to stop leaning on the balcony and went back into his room.

As he entered his room, it was a mess. Energy drinks on the floor and desk, emptied and scattered. A single bed that leans against the wall on its side, with half of the blanket on the floor, while the other half clings onto the bed dearly for life. The room was decorated with various types of decorative items, including posters of famous works by different authors of webnovels, novels, or manga, which hung on the wall in pristine condition.

On the desk, a laptop remains open as it is the only thing lighting up the room beside a dimly lit bulb. Filure sat down in his chair as he stared at the laptop, which displayed a novel by Filure, or what is known as his author name online: "Feather". The novel was a generic isekai novel titled "Heroes Awakening."

He put his hand on the mouse and clicked on the settings icon, which shows a tab.

[Novel Settings]

> Viewer Count

He clicked on the >Status and it went into a new tab that showed the status of his novel.

As soon as he was done, Filure clicked off the tab by clicking [X], and it switched to another tab filled with many novels with different genres and names, as all of them had been labelled as hiatus or cancelled. He sighed to himself and crossed his hands together as his arm rested on the table. He glanced at the shelf on his table as he stared at a miniature bowl that held a feather pen upwards. It was written with a signature in a cursive text that read: Andersson Johan.

'Creak!'

The sound of metal creaking caught Filure's attention from afar. He stood up from his chair and exited his room, making his way downstairs to the living room, where he spotted an envelope on the floor in front of a door that led outside. Filure picked up the envelope and opened it; inside was a letter. Unfolding the letter, it read a long message.

'Subject: House Rental Payment.'

"Salutation, Filure Writs. The Committee of Housing and Real Estate has taken notice of your lack of mention of rent payment and will decide to increase your rent to $800. If you wish to learn or negotiate about payment, please refer to going to Jalhoon Street and meeting your landlord, Kurtson Jon, at 5:00 PM this Saturday. Thank you for your understanding and compliance.

Regards, The Committee of Housing and Real Estate (CHRE)."

Reading the letter thoroughly, Filure sighs to himself and heads back up to his room, and soon walks to a cabinet, opens it, and tosses the letter inside. In the cabinet were tons of envelopes that were either left open or never opened at all, and lots of letters that were crumpled up into a ball or just left as they were.

Closing the cabinet, he fell onto his bed with his back and just lay there. His eyes were empty, hollow, no sparks of motivation. Filure turned his head to gaze at the clock alarm that indicated it was <1:00 AM>. Turning his head away again, Filure stared at the ceiling and soon closed his eyes and dozed off.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Feeling his body was light, Filure felt as though he was in a dream, but he could hear the sound of something passing by that goes 'Swooooshh!'. It was loud to the point that he started feeling irritated by the constant swooshing sound from left and right that he thought that folks outside his apartment was playing loud annoying sound to bother him.

Filure got up slowly and wiped his eyes as it seem he was awake, however, he felt he was sitting on a hard stone cold floor. Opening his eyes, he suddenly looked around his surrounding.

"What the-" He murmured in shocked as his eyes gaze a white void in front of him. Looking around, he see his whole surrounding was just a pure white void, it was so bright and purely white, that he rubbed his eye numerous time.

"Where the hell am I?!"

Filure yelled at the top of his lungs as he scratched his head furiously, unable to make any sense of his predicament. He know he isn't in a dream anymore, but he isn't lucid dreaming either, as obviously, he never learned it or heard of it once.

"Could it be...that I...no no no! That's impossible and only in fiction! It's not real! It's not real!"

Filure stood up and walk in circles as he scratch his head as tried to think of an answer to his situation but couldn't thought of one possible conclusion.

"Shit! What do I do?! Okay okay, as my counsellor once said...breathe in....breathe out...breathe in...breathe out..."

As Filure thought to himself while doing his exercise of breathing in and out, he hoped to calm his mind to get a better grasp of his situation. He continued this exercised for about 2 more minutes, before finally letting out the finale exhale, and gaze his surrounding once more.

"Okay...so let's see..wait what am I supposed to see or do?!"

Filure question himself as there was nothing to look or go to as the surrounding is just pure white which caused him to blink or closed his eye for quite a bit as it was pure white and felt like staring at a blank form of brightness directly in his eyes.

"There is nothing I can do...why the hell am I here then?!"

Filure continued to rubbed his eyes and soon gave up as there is no point of looking or moving a bit further where he once was. He sighed to himself and just crouch his leg on the floor looking at the white void floor and began to think of nothing on what to do in this situation.

'Crack!-Crack!-'

"Eh?"

Noticing the cracks on the floor, Filure looks up and see the white void began to display multiple crack around him, it moved faster than his thoughts could process, and he stared with a blank face.

He soon snapped out of his confusion and instantly...panicked.

"WHAT THE HELL-"

Before he could finished screaming his lungs out, the white void shattered instantly, the shard of the white void fell as now, Filure surrounding changed into the sky, a blue clear sky. And soon, Filure fell from the sky as well with the white shard while he screamed again as he felled.

"HOLY SHIIIIIIT-"

As he felled, Filure notice that the sky in front of his view, was completely dark, a night starry sky, while on his side was clear as day. The scenery caught him off guard as he stopped yelling and was in awe and shock of the contrast between day and night. He soon notice that as the center where day and night collided, it created a large square line which show it was noon. Day, Night and Noon, a contrast of timing colliding to create a spectacular viewpoint.

Filure remained in awe until he remembered he was falling and soon look down to see himself getting closer to land, a forest to be precise, a very large forest and soon, he felled faster and collided himself onto the branches of many trees.

"Oof!"

"Ack!"

"Ow"

"Ack!"

As he continued getting hit by hit branch as he felled, he couldn't think clearly and feels like his bone breaking at every second as he felled, constant sharpness in pain.

'Crack!'

'Crunch!'

'Squelch!'

'Thud!'

'Thud!'

What feels like an eternity of endless constantly suffering, he hit the final branch.

'Squelch!'

Filure body was prickled by many soft wood chip stabbed into his body as blood began to ooze out from the stabbed area, bone was broken in his body, and he was in constant pain, his throat got pierce by a wooden stick and hit his vocal which render him unable to scream or speak. He mouth cough out blood silently as it ooze out from his mouth, and finally he was about to hit the ground.

'Splat!'

Suddenly, Filure vision was gone as he couldn't see anything but pitch black but his mind made no effort to think, and he couldn't think of a single word, and his mind began drifting fast, faster than expected but he doesn't notice it, and soon, but surely, it instantly faded away.
