Inside the diner, Elara Vance sat in a red vinyl booth. She had a mug of black coffee in front of her. She wasn't drinking it. She was staring at the three men sitting opposite her.
Aldren Vance (The Vampire) was wiping the vinyl seat with a silk handkerchief before sitting down. He looked like a prince who had been forced to take public transit.
