Arlene's POV
I turn sideways in front of the mirror, studying my reflection from every angle. The bump is definitely visible now, but not as dramatic as I expected for how far along I am. If I had stuck with the loose-fitting outfit I originally picked, no one would even know I was expecting. Maybe carrying two babies for those first weeks made me think I would be enormous by now.
"You look absolutely adorable," Isabel says, setting several shopping bags down on the bench next to me. She practically bounces with excitement as she places her hands on my bare belly. "Are you sure you don't want to try the dress?"
"It's way too hot for that thing. This outfit breathes, and I think Warner will appreciate the view a little more. Plus, I'm coordinating with Liana. She chose my dark purple design."
"Alright," Isabel's smile stays bright, but I catch the slight shift in her expression whenever I mention her estranged daughter.
