Arlene's POV
After Warner returned the child to Wina, they led us deep into the forest to show us where they harvested soil for their marijuana cultivation. Shelly insisted this dirt would benefit their gardens since it was identical to what they used for farming. I remained skeptical, but without concrete proof, we couldn't verify anything. Now Shelly and Levis, who brought Baby along for their visit, were busy examining and enhancing our security systems.
"Are we actually going to take her words at face value?" Mr. Warner inquired.
"Absolutely not," Warner and I responded in unison.
"These are the individuals causing you concern?" Mr. Warner questioned his son. "I felt like I was conversing with an intoxicated hippie who completely forgot her cause."
"That intoxicated hippie happens to be my grandmother," I tossed a kernel of popcorn in his direction. Edwards had brought me snacks before our meal. He smiled broadly and released a long breath.
