Arlene's POV
"Fine," I settle back into my seat, folding my arms across my chest.
The three of us need to find some way to work together if we want any chance of success. My instincts kicked in when I marked Liana because she was being hostile toward me, I gesture in her direction. And now I finally get why Warner handled things the way he did.
"I appreciate that," Warner's mouth curves into that familiar smirk. I give him the finger before turning my attention to her.
"I owe you an apology for what happened. Fear and rejection don't bring out my best side, and I got hit with both at once. That was unfair to you."
"Apology accepted," she responds with a casual shrug.
"How exactly is this supposed to work when you two can't even be in the same room together?" I question them both. "Is this seriously your first attempt at addressing whatever's between you?"
"No," they reply simultaneously.
"You've actually discussed this before?"
