Warner's POV
I can still feel the raw fury that consumed her moments ago. The rage was unlike anything I had ever witnessed, and now I understand why she carries the title of silverback. Every wound inflicted on her had been buried deep until it finally erupted, creating the perfect storm for Niall's spirit to emerge.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" Arlene asks.
Her voice sounds rough and scratchy. She keeps clearing her throat, though thankfully the blood has stopped since she rested.
"Like what?"
"You have this strange expression on your face," she says with a small shrug.
I reach for her left hand, examining the bruised and swollen knuckles. Taking the plastic cup from her bedside table, I scoop some ice into it.
"You really did a number on that guy. He was completely stunned," I say, unable to hide my smile.
