Arlene's POV
The sound of raised voices cuts through the afternoon quiet as Warner and Levis stride through the door, their argument in full swing. What is it about today that has everyone on edge? Before I can process their heated exchange, Nicholson bounces in behind them, clutching a colorful Pop Mart shopping bag in one hand and a plastic fruit cup in the other. Those two are going to spoil her completely.
"Hi, Mommy," she says, her face lighting up when she spots me. "I missed you so much."
"What did you get?" I ask, though she tells me she misses me every single day since we returned from Germany. The words never get old.
"Aunt Linton bought me a new Debra figure, and Daddy got me this snack." She holds up the fruit cup proudly. "Where's Rockford?"
"Training isn't finished yet. About an hour to go," I tell her. She lets out an exaggerated groan and thrusts the shopping bag toward me.
