Arlene's POV
My head throbs with a relentless pulse, and everything feels heavy around the edges. The room swims in and out of focus as the pack doctor adjusts his equipment, checking my blood pressure for the third time. My hands shake slightly as I try to process what just happened.
That woman. That voice in my head. How dare she invade my mind like she had some right to be there.
Nothing like this has ever happened before. When the visions come, I'm always alone in them. A silent observer watching scenes unfold. No one sees me. No one speaks to me. But this time was different. This time, she looked right at me and spoke as if we were having a conversation.
The door bursts open and Warner rushes in, his face pale with worry. Mylo and Isabel follow close behind, their expressions equally concerned.
"Arlene?" Warner's voice is rough with panic. "Is she okay?"
