"What is it going to be like next year?"
Fifteen-year-old Day is lying next to his crush and now boyfriend, 17-year-old Travis, on the grassy floor of the forest.
They are on their backs, watching the birds above flying in the blue sky, while their fingers are intertwined between them.
It's a perfect day with the perfect weather for a picnic.
"What do you mean?" Travis asks, eyes following the two birds circling each other high above them.
"You have been telling me that things are changing, that you will be different. you said that your father is going to ask you to be more responsible, too," Day says.
Ever since Travis told him that he might have more power to extend their days together, but which also meant that the periods of seeing each other might lessen, he has been thinking hard.
Of course, he is sad. So sad that he might not see or be with Travis anymore.
This whole business of having more tasks to do, more responsibility, doesn't sound good to him.
