Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: Self-Doubting Mu Shuyi

"I trust Miss Lu Li and Miss Gu Xiao won't spread what happened here. The Second Miss herself probably wouldn't want to embarrass herself in front of outsiders, but the Madam's punishment is very real."

Mu Shuyi was completely unmoved by Jing Hanshuang's threat; she knew the personality of that girl, Hanshuang, inside and out.

Don't be fooled by her unreliable appearance at home; outside, she is the perfect Iceberg Goddess in everyone's eyes.

Therefore, how could something that wouldn't get out possibly threaten her?

"Come on, Second Miss, please begin your performance."

Mu Shuyi tapped her smart bracelet a few times, and a virtual camera screen appeared, showing the recording mode.

"Despicable! You actually want to record this."

Jing Hanshuang pointed a trembling hand at Mu Shuyi, unable to believe Mu Shuyi would do such a thing.

Recording a video of someone making a fool of themselves—is that something a lady should do?

"You jest, Second Miss. For a humble woman like myself, this is called teaching according to aptitude."

To deal with a student with Jing Hanshuang's personality, she first had to become like her.

This also goes back to what was said earlier: Mu Shuyi was not a rigid person. She wouldn't constantly put on airs like most etiquette teachers, acting strictly and always wearing a sour expression.

In her interactions with students, she would formulate appropriate teaching strategies based on their personalities.

After so many years of teaching, Mu Shuyi had grasped a principle: the learning efficiency of students who willingly study in a relaxed environment is different from those who are forced to study in a repressive environment.

The difference could even be described as heaven and earth.

Mu Shuyi had personally witnessed that when a student learned willingly, the speed at which they mastered etiquette was several times, ten times, or even more, faster than when they harbored resistant emotions.

Therefore, in Mu Shuyi's view, emotion is crucial during the learning process.

It was precisely because of this that Mu Shuyi held an extremely high status in the industry, though there were often people who slandered her methods as misleading the young.

They argued that there was no such thing as happy learning in this world; those students learned quickly and well because of their natural talent, not because Mu Shuyi's teaching methods were good.

Mu Shuyi couldn't be bothered to argue with these statements; time would prove everything.

"Fine, you win this time, you 'malicious' person."

Looking at the recording interface in front of Mu Shuyi, Jing Hanshuang finally backed down.

"Thank you for the compliment. This humble woman will continue to work hard."

Mu Shuyi covered her mouth and chuckled, making Jing Hanshuang puff out her cheeks in anger.

"Come, let's proceed with the practice of the next movement."

Having dealt with Jing Hanshuang, Mu Shuyi turned and approached Gu Xiao and Lu Li, continuing to instruct the two of them.

Looking at the two whose movements were standard, a hint of approval flashed in Mu Shuyi's eyes.

Whether it was Gu Xiao or Lu Li, they were learning incredibly fast.

Mu Shuyi had originally worried that with less than two months available, teaching so much content might be too rushed.

Even she felt considerable pressure.

Fortunately, Madam Jing was not an unreasonable person and only asked her to do her best.

But she truly hadn't expected the two young ladies' learning speed to be so astonishingly fast.

Calculating this way, the young ladies' lessons might even be finished in less than a month.

The one who surprised Mu Shuyi the most was Lu Li. Unlike Gu Xiao, Mu Shuyi could tell that Lu Li was a complete novice who had genuinely never been exposed to etiquette education.

Yet, her learning speed was in no way slower than Gu Xiao's. Everything Mu Shuyi explained and demonstrated once, Lu Li could flawlessly replicate.

Sometimes, Mu Shuyi even felt that Lu Li performed slightly better than she did.

Furthermore, the temperament Lu Li displayed during the learning process—dignified, elegant, and gentle—made Mu Shuyi almost disbelieve her own eyes.

As for Gu Xiao, she was exactly as Mu Shuyi had previously judged: she must have studied etiquette before, but specifically men's etiquette.

Although there was still a significant difference between the two, she at least had a foundation, so Gu Xiao also learned quite quickly.

Mu Shuyi swore that these were truly the two most worry-free disciples she had ever had.

"Alright, the morning session ends here. Stop and take a break."

Two hours later, Mu Shuyi clapped her hands, signaling Gu Xiao and Lu Li to stop and rest.

"Lu Li, have you really never been exposed to etiquette education before?"

Although Mu Shuyi had always been very confident in her judgment, this time, she was starting to doubt herself.

Because, as she observed while instructing Lu Li, Lu Li could perform even better than her after just one lesson, even developing her own style.

She had been immersed in this field for decades. Had a beginner who had just started already surpassed her?

Doubting Lu Li meant doubting her own judgment, but not doubting Lu Li meant doubting her own talent.

After a period of internal struggle, Mu Shuyi ultimately chose the former.

"No. My father is the patrol team captain for the Security Bureau in Yunqi City, and my mother is just a regular employee. I don't usually need these things."

Lu Li's answer was straightforward. Given her family background, she had no need for things like etiquette.

Although some people did send their children to institutions to learn etiquette, honestly, they usually ended up learning something half-baked. After all, even those so-called institutions might just be teaching online courses they found.

"This... makes no sense."

Mu Shuyi looked serious, her brows furrowed tightly, displaying an expression of existential doubt.

Could it be that my talent is truly lacking? But that can't be right; she had taught many students before, and none learned at this speed.

Take the Second Miss, for example. Her talent in this area is excellent, and she grew up in this kind of family environment, yet she still studied for quite a while. So, is the fundamental reason simply that this girl's talent is too outstanding?

"Sister Mu, I have a feeling you're thinking something very rude."

Although Mu Shuyi's gaze toward her was full of relief, Jing Hanshuang inexplicably felt offended.

"Is it because I'm learning too fast? It might have something to do with my profession."

In fact, Lu Li had also noticed the unusual speed of her own learning.

No matter how simple the process, there should always be a learning curve, but she mastered it immediately after just one look, as if she was supposed to know it already.

It was as if she had temporarily forgotten, but after reviewing it once, the knowledge immediately resurfaced in her mind, accompanied by muscle memory, as if it were innate.
