Admiral Aokiji, reporting for duty!
Nami's nautical knowledge was excellent. As they drew closer to their target island, the violent celestial chaos gradually calmed.
A smile spread across her face. She turned to share her relief with Yang Ning—but froze.
Yang Ning, Esdeath, and Arthur all stood rigid, staring toward the island. Their eyes flickered with faint red light.
Yang Ning's usual playfulness vanished. His voice was grim:
"You felt it too?"
Arthur nodded silently. Esdeath's grip tightened on her greatsword, lips pressing into a thin line.
"Such intense… chilling danger. What could it be?"
What else but the naval fleet waiting for them?
"Report! The Windbreaker Pirates' ship has been spotted twenty nautical miles ahead!"
A white-uniformed soldier saluted sharply.
On the flagship's deck, Aokiji—unusually—rose from his beach chair. He rubbed his head, then ambled to the bow.
On the distant horizon, a small black dot grew steadily larger.
"Ah… finally showed up," Aokiji murmured. "Let's give them a little fireworks welcome."
He raised his voice:
"All ship commanders—free to engage. But do not board."
"Yes, sir!"
Boom!
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Whoosh~~~ Whoosh~~~ Whoosh~~~
The naval captains, unleashed, opened fire before the New Windbreaker even entered optimal range. Black shells screamed through the sky—hundreds, thousands—converging on the pirate ship.
From afar, it looked like a localized storm of steel rain.
And at its center—the New Windbreaker.
At the first cannon roar, the crew burst from the cabin. Pirates lived ready for ambush.
Sylvester rolled up his sleeves, chest puffed.
"Captain, leave this to me! I'll show these—uh… uh…"
Above him, cannonballs fell like a black hailstorm.
Normally, a few shells wouldn't faze him—Armament Haki and martial arts made him confident.
But this? Six warships unleashing full broadsides? The sheer volume nearly made him weep.
But a man's word was his bond.
Just as Sylvester braced to shield the deck, Yang Ning and Esdeath moved.
As the ship's only two with 0.5 ranged combat ratings (Nami: Why am I only 0.5?!), they wouldn't let him throw his life away.
> "One-Sword Style: Heaven Opening – Starry Sky!"
> "Greatsword Style: Mad Ink Writing the Sky!"
One thin, one thick. One white, one black.
Two arcs of sword energy soared.
The white light split midair—multiplying into thousands of strands, weaving a net. Cannonballs struck it—and exploded into shrapnel.
The black energy was brutal, domineering. It branched like ink on paper, sweeping the sky. Where it passed, shells detonated preemptively.
Yang Ning and Esdeath held bow and stern, unleashing wave after wave. With Sylvester and Willie reinforcing, not a single cannonball touched the deck.
The naval officers weren't surprised.
They'd long abandoned the fantasy of killing great pirates with cannon fire alone.
As the barrage ended, vice admirals and rear admirals gathered on their bows—eyes fixed on the central flagship.
There, a tall man with an afro slowly donned his gold-shouldered coat. The word "Justice" fluttered on his back.
Hoo~
Aokiji exhaled—a breath of frost. His face was blank as he watched the New Windbreaker survive the storm.
He took a step forward.
Then another.
No ship. No raft.
Whoosh~ Thud.
He fell—not into water, but onto something solid.
> "Ice Age~~~"
His voice rolled across the sea.
Crack. Crack. Crack.
Ice spread from beneath the flagship—fast, relentless. The ocean froze in its wake.
In the time it took to brew tea—or blink—the entire sea, all seven warships, and the New Windbreaker were locked in ice. A frozen apocalypse.
Yang Ning's crew tried to flee—raised sails, summoned wind—but the ice outpaced them.
The New Windbreaker, mid-turn, jerked to a stop. Ice climbed its hull, webbing the wood in crystalline fractures.
On deck, cold hit like a physical force. Warmth vanished. Breath fogged.
Esdeath and the others stared in shock.
Yang Ning's face darkened.
He didn't need to see the man to know who it was.
That freezing power. That piercing Haki warning.
Only one person in the world fit: Admiral Aokiji.
He gave a bitter, helpless laugh.
How could he fight this?
His attack was strong—yes.
Soul Drain Strike had reached terrifying levels:
[Skill 1: Soul-Sucking Strike (2498) Active: The next basic attack has an additional 25 attack range and deals 7551 (30+1 AD) (+passive effect bonus) physical damage.
Current damage bonus: 7494]
But Aokiji? Trained by Garp. Fought Akainu for ten days—and only lost a calf. His defense wasn't weak—it was monstrous.
Yang Ning's armor? 629.
His shield? 1366+, regenerating.
His health? 11,160—five digits.
But against Admirals?
They were hexagonal monsters—perfect in every stat: speed, control, experience, versatility.
Yang Ning leaned on the railing, staring skyward, voice hollow:
"The Admirals are truly despair-inducing hexagonal monsters~~~
Is my next stop Impel Down? No way!"
