Seeing the battle intent rising in Makoto's eyes, Yuu quickly intervened. "Sorry for taking up so much of your time when you're busy. You should get back to work."
Almost as if his high Luck stat was working in his favor, Makoto's father called out from the kitchen at that exact moment. "Makoto!"
Makoto hesitated, but the call of duty won out. He retracted his fighting stance and bowed. "Excuse me, Hoshimiya-sensei. I have to go."
Yuu breathed a sigh of relief. He didn't plan on avoiding Makoto forever—in fact, Makoto was the perfect "measuring stick" for his progress. Once he transformed his raw attributes into actual combat skill, he would come back for a real duel.
He stayed for lunch and chatted with Makoto again once the rush died down. Makoto was still curious about Yuu's martial arts background, but Yuu played it off as being a novice who "started too late."
"I hope to one day be good enough to learn from the Prince of Kicks," Yuu joked.
They exchanged contact info, and Yuu headed back to Tokyo. By the time he arrived, the sun was still up. One goal down, two to go.
The "Humanoid Beast" talent had been converted into raw XP, but its traits—like heightened combat instincts and faster skill acquisition—remained as part of his new [Body] attribute.
Over the next month, Yuu's life became a whirlwind of activity. He spent his days learning various martial arts, primarily Karate under Ran's tutelage. He spent his nights deepening his bonds with Eri and Ran, aiming for that "Mother-Daughter Donburi" achievement, while still making time for Ayako, Tomoko, and his other "tools."
Thanks to the chaotic timeline of the Conan world, months could pass in reality while the calendar only shifted by days. Women like Sayuri Matsumoto or Natsue Hatamoto didn't feel neglected because, to them, it had only been a few days since they last saw him.
Yuu also tested the Covenant on his beautiful driver. She already had high affection for him, and her "wish" was simply to spend more time with him. He made her his exclusive personal driver, and the Covenant was formed. However, as he expected, a "regular" beauty provided 0 system upgrade energy.
He decided his next target for a Covenant would be Akemi Miyano, whose goals aligned perfectly with his own. But since she was currently in hiding, he turned his focus to Akako Koizumi.
Magic was a wildcard. He didn't want to meet Akako and immediately get brainwashed. To lower her guard, he used the Suzuki family's "Money Power" to arrange a teacher exchange program between Teitan High and Ekoda High. He would be one of the teachers swapping schools for a month.
A week later, the announcement was made. Yuu was on the list for the second-year classes at Ekoda.
After school that day, Yuu was at the Teitan Karate club. He dodged an attack from Ran and swept her leg, pinning her gently to the mat.
"Phew... Yuu-kun, you're getting so good," Ran said, breathless and impressed.
"You're a great teacher, Ran," Yuu smiled. "But I won't be able to come for a while because of the exchange program."
"I'll let the captain know," a voice said.
Sumi Tsukamoto, the club captain, walked over. She was a powerhouse who could crush a man's ribs with a single kick, but in her white gi, she looked like a refined, mature high school beauty. Her bare toes curled slightly against the wooden floor as she approached.
Sumi looked at Yuu with a strange intensity. Ever since she had accidentally witnessed Yuu and Ran "at it" in the school restroom weeks ago, she couldn't get the image out of her head. The sounds, the sight of Yuu's monstrous "dragon"... it haunted her dreams.
She had tried to ask Ran about it, but Ran had always played it off. Now, seeing Yuu's rapid progress in Karate and his sheer physical presence, Sumi found her initial disgust turning into a dark, burning curiosity.
"So, Hoshimiya-sensei is going to Ekoda?" she asked, her voice slightly tight.
"That's right. Thank you for your help during my time here, Sumi-san," Yuu said.
Sumi wanted to ask him for one last "sparring session" before he left, but she held herself back. She knew her self-control was fraying.
"The other girls will be sad to see you go," she said instead. Yuu's presence had turned the club into a hotspot for female students who just wanted to watch him train.
The next day, the "Conan timeline" struck again. Yuu woke up, and it was suddenly another holiday. He was lounging at home when Ran called, panicked.
"Yuu-kun! Dad is in the hospital!"
Yuu sighed and got dressed. Wherever Conan went, disaster followed. It was time to go visit the "Sleeping Sleuth" and see what new case the Reaper Brat had dragged him into.
