Chapter 139 - Chapter 139: The First Mission

Yuu and Sayuri didn't leave the restroom because they were finished; they left because they knew the thrill of the stall had its limits, and staying any longer was a one-way ticket to getting caught.

Yuu had no classes in the afternoon, so it was his turn to man the school's clinic. For a long time, Teitan High hadn't been able to find a decent school doctor. If Yuu actually had a medical license, he would have considered asking for a permanent transfer. Being a school doctor was even easier than being a health counselor—it was the ultimate slacker job where nobody cared if you took a random day off. Small injuries? Slap on some iodine and a Band-Aid. Serious injuries? Out of his league; they'd be sent to the hospital anyway.

Back at the clinic, Sayuri cleaned herself up while no one was looking. There was no helping the stains on her clothes, but luckily her skirt was black; unless someone got uncomfortably close, the evidence was invisible. She then asked Yuu for a pen and paper and began drafting her resignation. It was called an "application," but in reality, it was a notification. With a father like Superintendent Kiyonaga Matsumoto, no one would dare block her exit. In fact, her father's shadow was the reason her career had been so smooth—no workplace harassment, no "casting couch" bullshit, nothing.

Sayuri didn't push for more sex right then, and Yuu was happy for the break. The afternoon passed quickly, and as soon as the final bell rang, Sayuri dragged Yuu back to her home to continue his "compensation" activities. The Matsumoto family servants were surprised to see Yuu, but seeing Sayuri's determined expression, no one dared to ask questions.

The moment they reached her house, they showered and went straight to bed. Aside from a quick break for dinner, they didn't leave the sheets. From 4:00 PM until midnight, Yuu compensated Sayuri so thoroughly that she wouldn't even want to hear the word "sex" for a while. Even if she wanted it, her body wouldn't allow it.

They went from back-and-forth passion to her passive endurance, then to her begging for him to stop, and finally to her sobbing into the pillow as he relentlessly hammered her. The female servants passing by the door several times almost thought their lady was being tortured. If they hadn't known Sayuri's father was the head of the police, or if they weren't experienced middle-aged women themselves who recognized the sounds of carnal ecstasy, they might have actually called the cops.

The next morning, Yuu left the Matsumoto estate without seeing a trace of Kiyonaga. The Superintendent hadn't even been home for dinner; he was clearly buried in a major case. That explained why Sayuri was so bold about bringing Yuu home and not holding back her screams. Yuu didn't have Conan's insatiable curiosity; he didn't care about the details of the "major case."

He didn't want to get involved, but fate had other plans. Shortly after arriving at school, he received an order from Gin to meet at the "usual spot." A quick check of the schedule showed he had no classes today. He sent a text to Ran and Sonoko and skipped work without even bothering to ask for leave.

In the dim, sterile atmosphere of the pharmaceutical company's basement bar, Gin sat with a cigarette dangling from his lips, casting a cold glance at the arriving Yuu.

"Your training was excellent. Now, I have your first real mission."

Vodka stepped forward, handing Yuu a thick manila folder.

"Thank you, Gin-sama," Yuu said, taking the file and sitting down to read. As he scanned the pages, his pupils dilated. He had clearly been too relaxed lately; if Gin hadn't handed him this, he wouldn't have known such a massive event was unfolding.

The mission concerned Akemi Miyano. Specifically, Yuu was ordered to eliminate her two accomplices in a recent heist, frame her for the murders, and recover the ten billion yen.

Gin watched him closely. "What? Do you recognize the targets?"

Yuu immediately reined in his emotions. Gin was like Conan—paranoid and observant. "No. I'm just surprised that the bank robbery was one of ours."

It was a perfect excuse. The robbery was all over the news. Kiyonaga Matsumoto's absence was likely due to this case. Yuu realized he couldn't be everywhere at once; with the timeline constantly shifting, he had to prioritize the major plot points.

"Didn't she complete the mission?" Yuu asked, playing his role as an inquisitive subordinate. "The police haven't caught her. Why eliminate her?"

Gin stared at him for a long moment, satisfied with the explanation, then glanced at Vodka.

"Hmph. The woman wants to leave the Organization," Vodka sneered. "Does she think it's that easy? A low-level pawn like her doesn't matter, but she wants to take her sister with her. Her sister, Shiho Miyano, is one of the few brilliant minds in the Organization, the head of a critical research project. If Akemi won't play ball, we solve the problem permanently."

Yuu realized this was the pivotal moment where Akemi Miyano was supposed to die. But why was the mission given to him? He quickly deduced that in the original timeline, Gin and Vodka handled it personally, but they clearly viewed it as a chore. Gin's original assassination of Akemi was sloppy—he didn't even use a finishing shot, letting her bleed out while talking to Conan.

Now that the Organization had "fresh blood" like Yuu and Hitomi, Gin was using this "trash disposal" task as a test for Yuu.

"Understood," Yuu nodded. "They're armed. Where's my piece? You don't expect me to use my bare hands, do you?"

"Take it." Gin slid a handgun across the bar. It moved with such precision that it stopped exactly in front of Yuu.

Yuu picked up the weapon. It was a beautiful, jet-black piece of hardware, far superior to the training models. He felt the weight of it, a cold, metallic reassurance. "By the way, do you have any more of those pen-guns? The instructor gave me one, and it was incredibly useful. I'd like to stock up."

"You already used the one from the island?" Gin asked. He had read the reports on Yuu and Hitomi's training.

"Used it. It was very... convenient," Yuu remarked.
