Kiwako Toda knew Yuu Hoshimiya had designs on her, and she felt the same attraction toward him.
Although it was slightly wrong for Yuu to coerce Haru Matsuzaki into helping him conquer her, it was thanks to that very move that they discovered Masahiko Matsuzaki's true colors.
Through Haru, Kiwako also learned that Yuu was a "magician."
Partly to satisfy her curiosity and partly to thank him—and perhaps see if things could develop further—she had come to the hospital.
This was a major factor in why Kiwako broke up with Masahiko so decisively.
Yuu was much handsomer than Masahiko, had a better physique, and looked like the type who was highly capable both in and out of bed; dating him would surely bring her immense satisfaction.
However, girls are shy; she felt embarrassed to say she was looking for another handsome guy immediately after a breakup.
But this reasonable cause appeared to Kunio Kawazu as a mere excuse; in his eyes, those two face-obsessed bitches, Kiwako and Haru, were just eager to throw themselves at Yuu.
Kunio's eyes turned bloodshot, and his breathing became heavy and ragged.
Masahiko and the others didn't notice, assuming he was just upset after being rejected by Kiwako.
But if Yuu were here, he would know Kunio was being pushed toward an extreme.
He would likely find an empty corner soon and transform into the "Silhouetted Culprit."
As for the target...
It was unclear if it would be Kiwako, Haru, or perhaps even Yuu himself.
When Kiwako and Haru arrived at the hospital, they ran right into Kogoro Mouri, who was storming out in a rage.
They raised their hands to say hello, but before they could speak, Kogoro had already vanished, leaving only Conan chasing after him with his short legs.
After a moment of staring at each other, Kiwako and Haru chose to visit Eri Kisaki first.
By the time they asked the nurse for the room number, Eri's arrangements had been made.
She would simply stay for two days of observation and rest rather than transferring hospitals.
Since tomorrow was Sunday, Ran would stay to look after her; if necessary, Ran could take one more day off.
Midori Kuriyama would head back first to handle work and reorganize the disrupted schedule.
Yuu watched the touching scene of mother and daughter and knew he likely wouldn't have a chance for now, so he prepared to return to Tokyo with Midori.
Just then, the system notification rang in his mind.
[Successfully participated in the 'Oxygen Scuba Diving Murder Case', Talent Copy Chance +1.]
This was similar to the case with Sayuri Matsumoto; the crime was prevented, yet it didn't trigger the special rewards from last time.
It was unclear if the system had patched a bug or if the judgment was simply erratic...
To be honest, the system's reward criteria had always been mysterious without clear rules; one could only say the higher the participation and the greater the change, the higher the chance of a reward.
This was a very ordinary incident; had it not been completely derailed, there likely wouldn't have been a reward at all.
Getting a Copy Chance now was actually quite a profit, if one ignored the danger Eri had faced.
He now had two Copy Chances in total; Yuu wanted to find two top-tier Red Talents to copy, or at least Gold ones.
He had a mental ranking of targets, but without a good opportunity, he had to set it aside.
He had accumulated many Talent Draw chances, but since it wasn't a "ten-pull" yet, it wasn't worth mentioning.
As he drew more often, Yuu had become somewhat immune to the excitement.
Compared to Copying, Upgrading, or Plundering, the boost from a random draw was too small; only a ten-pull could pique his interest.
At least a ten-pull allowed him to fuse identical talents for a quality upgrade.
The sudden reward didn't make Yuu particularly happy; instead, it reminded him of something.
He wondered what the situation was with Haru and Kiwako...
With Eri's sudden accident, he had nearly forgotten the two female leads of the incident.
"I should have exchanged contact info with Haru first..." Yuu grumbled to Midori as they walked side by side.
Midori paused, nudging the pensive Yuu with her elbow, and said, "Yuu-kun, look over there."
Yuu looked up, his eyes brightening.
Talk about the devil; he hadn't even spoken their names, and thinking of them was enough?
He had been wondering if he could still find them at the hotel, but they had come to the hospital on their own.
Eri's accident had given him a scare, but he still had a fire burning in his gut.
He wouldn't let his previous efforts go to waste now that they were back in mind.
He might not take both Kiwako and Haru at once, but he had to take at least one to vent his heat!
Seeing Yuu's expression, Midori rolled her eyes and curled her lips. "I guess you aren't leaving yet. I'll head out first."
"What? Jealous?"
"Ugh... a little, but not much."
Midori quickly adjusted her mindset, waving at Kiwako and Haru while whispering, "As long as you can feed me enough, I don't care about your affairs. But if you can't..."
"Don't you worry about that."
Yuu chuckled, responding in an equally low voice, "When I get back, along with the reward for your tip today, I'll make sure you can't get out of bed for three days!"
"I'll be waiting."
Midori's tall, black-stockinged legs shifted as she gave him a seductive wink.
As they made their pact, Kiwako and Haru walked over.
"Yuu-kun, Miss Kuriyama."
"Hello. Why are you here?" Midori asked.
Kiwako said with guilt, "Lawyer Kisaki's poisoning is partly my responsibility. I wanted to see if she's okay."
"The first aid was timely, so there's no major issue. She just needs rest. She'll be out in two days," Midori replied.
"I have business back in Tokyo, so I'll let Yuu-kun take you to her room."
"Thank you, Miss Kuriyama. Have a safe trip."
Midori waved and headed for the parking lot alone.
They had arrived in Eri's BMW Mini, which Midori had driven to the hospital with Ran; now it was convenient for her to drive it back to Tokyo.
Left alone on the hospital corridor with the two girls, the atmosphere suddenly turned silent.
Yuu had many questions, especially about Kiwako and Masahiko.
The two girls also had many questions for Yuu but didn't know where to start.
After a moment of silence, Yuu spoke first. "Let's go. I'll take you to the ward."
"Okay."
Back in the ward, Ran was peeling an apple for Eri; she was surprised to see Yuu return so soon.
Before she could ask, Kiwako and Haru entered.
"Miss Toda and Miss Matsuzaki!" Ran stood up in surprise and greeted them.
"I'm sorry, we came in a hurry and didn't bring any gifts."
"Gomen'nasai!"
Looking at the pale Eri Kisaki, Kiwako gave a ninety-degree bow and began apologizing.
Haru joined in the apologies, while Ran and Eri repeatedly insisted it was just an accident and not their fault.
This kind of polite exchange was the same everywhere; Yuu found it tedious after a while.
Fortunately, Kiwako and Haru were young; seeing that Eri was truly okay and didn't blame them, they stopped the endless apologizing.
After about ten minutes of pleasantries and a quick trip outside to buy some fruit, the matter was settled.
To let Eri rest, Kiwako and Haru bid their farewells after setting down the fruit.
Yuu took the opportunity. "Ran, Auntie Eri, I'll walk them out."
"Thank you, Yuu-kun," Eri nodded, a tired smile on her beautiful face.
"It's no trouble, Auntie Eri."
Yuu smiled back. "I won't be coming back tonight. Get some rest. If you need anything, just have Ran call me."
Yuu left the ward. Unsurprisingly, Kiwako and Haru hadn't moved an inch; they were waiting for him.
"Let's go. Let's find a quiet place to talk."
The two girls glanced at the bustling hospital and nodded.
