Chapter 56: Thank Fate for Its Gift, Obito!
Pain! Hatred! Regret! Fury!
Malice that could shatter nerves and seep into his very bones devoured his rationality like a ravenous pack of wolves.
Nohara Rin's tragic death, her questioning gaze, and the demonic whispers of Uchiha Kazuki drove Obito's mind into an abyss of despair.
Snap!
Suddenly, he felt something break deep within his brain.
The world in Obito's eyes turned crimson, as if stained with fresh blood. Everything looked different now.
He could clearly see the trajectory of birds soaring through the sky with each flap of their wings. Dust particles drifting through the air seemed magnified before his vision. He could even perceive the flow of chakra within the man he hated down to his very soul.
Power surged through him continuously!
"AHHHHH!!!"
With a primal roar, Obito broke free from his restraints.
He tumbled awkwardly several times before immediately springing to his feet in a combat stance. His body dropped low, almost parallel to the ground, and he charged at Uchiha Kazuki like a lightning bolt.
"Fire Release: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!"
Obito's hands moved with unprecedented speed, forming hand seals faster than ever before. He expelled dozens of small fireballs from his mouth.
The dancing flames scattered in all directions with incredible agility before converging toward a central point.
BOOM!
A massive cloud of smoke rose from where the fireballs struck.
Immediately afterward, Uchiha Kazuki emerged from the smoke completely unharmed, his clothes only slightly dusty.
Thump thump thump!
He heard rapidly approaching footsteps. From the corner of his eye, Uchiha Kazuki caught sight of Obito charging straight at him.
A sharp kunai thrust forward, which Kazuki dodged by tilting his head. Using the momentum of his turn, he spun in the air and unleashed a devastatingly powerful spinning kick!
Leaf Gale!
But Obito suddenly dropped his body low, his movements surprisingly agile despite his serious injuries.
Not only did he evade the attack, but he even found an opening to counterattack. Gripping kunai in both hands, he thrust upward with full force while Kazuki was still unable to change direction mid-air.
His target was the man's vital points!
THUNK!
The kunai pierced through a section of wood.
"That was close, that was close."
Uchiha Kazuki feigned patting his chest, looking genuinely shaken. "You almost succeeded there."
"I knew you'd use the Substitution Jutsu!"
Just then, Obito suddenly whipped his head around, having somehow formed the Tiger seal. He took a deep breath, his chest expanding dramatically. "Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!"
WHOOOOSH—!
A massive fireball three meters in diameter flew forward with intense heat radiating from its core.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!"
Uchiha Kazuki countered with the same technique.
However, his chakra reserves were clearly superior to Obito's, making his fireball significantly larger and more powerful.
BOOM!!
The two fireballs collided in mid-air, the resulting high-temperature shockwave igniting nearby vegetation.
The ground within a ten-meter radius instantly cracked, and a visible shockwave swept outward, whipping up violent gusts of scorching wind.
"You dare... you actually killed Rin!"
Uchiha Obito clutched his face in agony, his facial muscles twitching, deep hatred seeping through his fingers. "I can't forgive you, Uchiha Kazuki!"
"Ugh, what a thick-headed idiot."
Kazuki sighed, rubbing his forehead, too tired to continue the charade. "The training can end now, Obito. Try to wake up."
However, Obito—already driven completely mad—seemed utterly deaf to his words. He charged directly through the still-burning flames, his eyes bloodshot, three tomoe spinning rapidly in each eye, radiating insane, murderous intent!
"I'LL KILL YOU!!!"
Obito's three-tomoe Sharingan gleamed brilliantly, his movements incredibly swift.
He was absolutely confident that with this new power, he wouldn't lose to anyone!
"Seriously..."
Uchiha Kazuki spoke coldly, his eyes narrowing as he watched Obito rush toward him. "Can't you hear me? The game's over."
The next instant, he vanished completely.
Immediately afterward, Obito heard a voice directly behind him.
"Go back to sleep!"
A sharp strike to the back of his neck followed.
Obito's pupils dilated suddenly. Then the pressure on his brain caused his vision to go black, and he collapsed with a heavy thud.
Clap Clap
Uchiha Kazuki dusted off his hands, glancing at Kakashi beside him. "The rest is up to you, okay?"
"No problem, no problem. I'll explain everything to Obito when he wakes up."
Kakashi looked somewhat bitter. It seemed he'd only come here today to get thoroughly beaten.
However, it wasn't entirely without value.
Thinking back to Uchiha Kazuki's no-hand-seal ninjutsu, Kakashi felt a vague inspiration taking shape. An idea for a new technique was already forming in his mind.
With this realization, Kakashi bowed respectfully and offered sincere thanks. "Kazuki-san, thank you for your guidance today!"
"Hmm, don't mention it."
Uchiha Kazuki waved dismissively and walked away at a leisurely pace.
Kamui, hehe... I'll be seeing it soon enough.
What a waste it would be to leave such a powerful space-time ability with Uchiha Obito.
He paused, turning back to look at the unconscious Obito, a faint smile crossing his features. "Thank fate for this gift, Obito."
The sun was setting in the western sky.
Obito, who had been unconscious for an unknown amount of time, finally opened his eyes.
His neck felt as if it were broken, and his bones creaked painfully, causing him to whimper in discomfort.
Memories slowly began returning to him.
"RIN!!!"
Obito roared toward the darkening sky, pounding the ground in anguish. "AHHHHH, RIN!!!"
Just then, a pair of warm hands descended gently, stroking his hair, and a familiar voice rang out.
"I'm alright, Obito. So please don't cry."
"Rin? That's... Rin's voice?"
Obito frantically wiped away his tears and looked up.
Upon seeing Nohara Rin standing before him, he was so terrified he nearly fainted again. As if he'd seen a ghost, he scrambled backward on all fours.
"AHHHHH, are you human or a ghost?!"
Obito stared at Rin in absolute horror, his face deathly pale.
"Seriously, Obito! Now I'm angry!"
Nohara Rin puffed out her cheeks, placing her hands on her hips as her eyes blazed with indignation. "Look closely! Am I human or a ghost?!"
Obito, his mind still sluggish, rubbed his eyes vigorously and stared intently for a long moment before his expression shifted to one of disbelief. "You're... you're really Rin? But I clearly saw you get cleaved in two by Uchiha Kazuki! Just like that—blood gushing everywhere!"
He gestured dramatically as he spoke.
"Idiot."
At that moment, Kakashi appeared, his face even more swollen than before. Arms crossed, he looked down at Obito with obvious disdain. "We were all fooled. It was a genjutsu."
"A genjutsu?!"
Obito was stunned. Looking more carefully, he realized Rin truly was alive and well.
Though her face was swollen like a balloon from the beating.
"Kazuki-san was deliberately trying to provoke you."
Kakashi revealed a hint of envy in his voice as he spoke coldly. "But the training was clearly effective—you've already awakened your Sharingan."
"The Sharingan! That's right!"
Obito finally realized, his face lighting up with pure ecstasy. "I've awakened my Sharingan too! Hahahaha!"
"Tch. Idiot."
Kakashi turned his head away with an expression of complete disdain.

And there it is! Obito has awakened his three-tomoe Sharingan through the trauma of "losing" Rin (even though it was genjutsu). Kazuki's brutal training method worked perfectly—though the psychological scars might take longer to heal than the physical ones! 😅
But did you catch that ominous hint? Kazuki is already planning to take Kamui (Obito's future Mangekyō ability) for himself. The question is... how? And what does he need it for?
Meanwhile, Kakashi got inspiration for what will likely become his signature technique—Chidori! All that suffering wasn't for nothing.
